”That old demon from Demon Flame Valley really was something… to have modified a Dou Technique like this. Too bad he chose the wrong path in the end.”

After fully absorbing the information from the scroll, a trace of admiration surfaced on Lin Feng’s face.

The old demon of Demon Flame Valley had ingeniously resolved the flaw in the original Flame Creation Art—a flaw that caused it to damage one’s own life force.

Not only that, but he also developed a unique fusion method—allowing the new version of the Flame Creation Art to be cultivated by a single person, capable of refining the Life Transforming Flame independently.

Within the seemingly endless spatial tunnel, a streak of light flashed through the void.

Though it moved at astonishing speed, one could still faintly make out the outline of a ship.

That ship was, of course, the spatial vessel carrying Lin Feng and the two girls.

They had already been traveling through the spatial wormhole for three days.

During these three days, the task of piloting the spatial ship had been handed to Xiao Yixian.

Of course, Zi Yan, curious as she was, had insisted on trying it herself at one point but after discovering that steering the ship was unbearably dull, she quickly lost interest and gave up.

As for Lin Feng, he had spent every moment of those three days immersed in cultivating the Flame Creation Art.

After all, for this technique to have become one of the top-tier Dou Techniques of the Demon Flame Valley, it naturally had its extraordinary qualities.

And to master such a powerful technique in a short amount of time—was far from easy.

The first step in cultivating the Flame Creation Art was to fuse three types of beast flames within the body.

While obtaining beast flames wasn’t all that difficult—a visit to any mid-to-large auction house could easily yield a few—there was one major complication:

Fire, by nature, was mutually repellent.

This was true for Heavenly Flames, and it was no different for beast flames.

If a mistake occurred during the fusion of the three beast flames in the body and they exploded even a Dou Zong expert would be severely injured.

And after the initial fusion, one had to continually temper and compress the fused flames using Dou Qi—repeatedly forging them until they reached a pinnacle level of refinement.

Only then could the three beast flames be perfectly merged and eventually, condense into a wisp of the ”Life Transforming Flame” seed.

However, not just anyone could forge this Life Transforming Flame.

The requirements were harsh:

One’s Dou Qi cultivation had to be at least at the Dou Huang realm.

As for soul power, while it didn’t need to reach the absurd standards of an alchemist it still couldn’t be too weak.

This was because the forging process required threading one’s Dou Qi into the flames bit by bit during the refining—all while monitoring even the slightest fluctuation within the flames.

If your soul power wasn’t strong enough—how could you possibly manage that?

And even then, just one flame seed alone wouldn’t be enough to unleash the true might of the technique.

That meant Lin Feng would need to continuously seek out different beast flames then, using the method recorded in the Flame Creation Art, temper each flame thoroughly before finally merging them into the Life Transforming Flame seed.

With each beast flame absorbed, the seed would grow stronger and larger.

Once he had a solid grasp on the scroll’s contents—Lin Feng took out three transparent jade bottles from his storage ring.

Within each of the three transparent jade bottles was a slowly burning beast flame.

These flames, of course, were the Rank 7 beast flames he had previously purchased from the Luo Clan.

At the time, he had bought a total of six.

Which meant—he had one chance to fail.

But of course, the ideal outcome would be to succeed on the first try—and then use the remaining beast flames as nourishment to feed the flame seed, further enhancing its power.

”Bang!”

With a few muffled cracks, the three jade bottles shattered one after another.

Staring at the few clumps of flames dancing in the air, Lin Feng opened his mouth.

A suction force surged out of nowhere, and with a single gulp, he swallowed all three beast flames.

The moment the three flames entered his body before they could even unleash their blazing heat— Lin Feng’s Glazed Lotus Heart Flame surged forward, instantly wrapping around them.

Under the suppression of a Heavenly Flame, the sovereign of all fire—the three beast flames quickly became subdued and weakened.

Sensing the beast flames inside his body, Lin Feng began circulating his Dou Qi at full force.

The swiftly flowing Dou Qi surged toward the flames and tightly wrapped around them—and under Lin Feng’s control, began spinning at high speed.

At the same time, the pressure around the flames surged violently.

Under the compression of Dou Qi, the three beast flames slowly began to fuse.

Throughout the process, Lin Feng’s consciousness was locked on with laser focus scanning every inch and corner for the slightest irregularity,

Terrified that even a single mistake could ruin the forging of the Life Transforming Flame.

—

While Lin Feng focused on forging the flame—elsewhere, at the entrance to the Horizon City spatial wormhole—six middle-aged men suddenly flashed out from within.

One of them glanced around disdainfully and muttered:

”As expected of the wild lands of the Northwestern Region… The Dou Qi here is pitifully thin.”

”Enough nonsense. Let’s go finish the Venerable One’s mission. The sooner we get it done, the sooner we return to the Pavilion.”

The leading man casually pulled out a map, glanced at it, and spoke indifferently.

Then, his body flickered—and vanished.

”Hmph. All we’re doing is snatching a Heavenly Flame from some Dou Huang brat, and then heading to that so-called Jia Ma Empire and Jia Nan Academy to retrieve the Pavilion Master’s disciple’s clansmen.

With our lineup—an Eight-Star Dou Zong, two Seven-Star Dou Zong, and three Five-Star Dou Zong—who in the Northwestern Region could possibly stop us?”

The man who had spoken earlier sneered and disappeared as well.

”Sigh... I just hope this mission goes smoothly. I heard that the mysterious headmaster of Jia Nan Academy was already an Eight- or Nine-Star Dou Zun when he founded it. By now, he might be even more terrifying. That kind of expert... even our Falling Star Pavilion wouldn’t dare provoke lightly…”

Watching the other two vanish, one of the remaining men shook his head with a deep sense of helplessness in his voice.

The remaining four transformed into streams of light and sped toward the Black-Corner Region!

Little did they know—their actual target had long since slipped through their fingers within the spatial wormhole.

—

Back inside the ship, after about twenty days of tempering, the Life Transforming Flame seed within Lin Feng’s body was finally beginning to take shape.

Another day passed.

Lin Feng slowly opened his eyes after several days of intense focus.

As he exhaled a mouthful of stale air, a smile appeared on his face.

Opening his palm, three tiny flames, each no larger than a thumb, quietly floated into the air.

The three flames danced and circled around his fingers like lively little fire spirits.

Faint waves of scorching heat radiated from them.

After over half a month of sleepless forging—these three beast flames were now several times stronger than they had been initially.

Now, there was only one step left—to perfectly fuse them together, and at last give birth to a new Life Transforming Flame seed!

With that thought, Lin Feng retracted the flames back into his body—and began the final fusion.
