On the other side, Lin Feng escorted the two girls back to their master’s residence.

As soon as he entered, he saw Fu Lan Ke and Ao Tuo with dejected expressions. A flicker of delight flashed in his eyes.

These two had finally come out of seclusion. He had long wanted to ask them for guidance on alchemy.

”Master, how did it go this time?”

Seeing Ao Tuo, Lin Fei hurried forward and asked.

”Sigh, don’t mention it. Those medicinal ingredients… they’ve all turned to ashes.”

Ao Tuo shook his head, his face full of bitterness.

”Lin Feng, you came just in time. In a little while, let’s head to the alchemy room. I’ll give you some pointers on alchemy.”

Seeing Lin Feng return with the two girls, Fu Lan Ke’s expression eased a little. He waved to Lin Feng and said.

”Thank you, Senior.”

Lin Feng cupped his hands in gratitude, a hint of joy appearing on his face.

”Hey, just call me Master Fu Lan Ke. Calling me ’Senior’ feels too distant.”

Fu Lan Ke turned his head slightly, displeased.

”Uh…”

Hearing Fu Lan Ke’s words, Lin Feng was a little helpless.

After spending so much time together, he had already figured out Fu Lan Ke’s intentions.

This old man was clearly trying to match him with Xue Mei.

Although Xue Mei’s looks were undeniable, he simply wasn’t very interested in her right now.

After all, he was already on the verge of becoming a Fourth-tier alchemist. The forces behind Xue Mei wouldn’t be of much help to him in the future.

Even so, he still nodded and said, under Fu Lan Ke’s satisfied gaze, ”Thank you, Master Fu Lan Ke.”

”That’s more like it.”

Fu Lan Ke stroked his beard, a smile on his face.

Then he turned to Lin Feng and said, ”Come with me to the alchemy room.”

With that, he took the lead and walked toward the alchemy room.

Lin Feng quickly followed.

”Here, refine a Qi Gathering Powder for me to see.”

In the alchemy room, Fu Lan Ke instructed Lin Feng.

”Alright.”

Lin Feng responded, then took out his cauldron and began refining the pill.

Watching Lin Feng’s skillful movements, Fu Lan Ke nodded in amazement.

Noticing an error in Lin Feng’s technique, he reminded him, ”When switching at this point, you need to lower the flame. Otherwise, the ingredients will easily burn. When fusing the medicinal essences—”

Whoosh!

After several failures, Lin Feng’s palm moved slightly, and a green pill shot out.

Finally, he caught it in his hand.

Looking at the pill, about the size of a longan fruit, Lin Feng’s expression was filled with excitement.

After all this effort, he had finally refined it!

”Congratulations. From now on, you can be considered a Fourth-tier alchemist.”

Seeing Lin Feng successfully refine a Fourth-tier pill so quickly, Fu Lan Ke was shocked.

Third-tier alchemists under thirty were common in the Jia Ma Empire.

But a Fourth-tier alchemist? That was as rare as a phoenix feather or qilin horn.

”This is all thanks to Master Fu Lan Ke guidance. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have been able to refine a Fourth-tier pill so quickly.”

Lin Feng quickly expressed his gratitude to Fu Lan Ke.

”Haha, I only played a supporting role. The key factor was your own talent.”

As he spoke, Fu Lan Ke suddenly thought of the Alchemist Grand Meeting, and he sighed regretfully.

”It’s a pity you’re already over thirty. Otherwise, with your alchemy skills, the championship would be yours for sure. I heard that this year’s champion prize is a legendary sixth-tier pill formula.”

Hearing Fu Lan Ke’s words, Lin Feng felt a bit bitter inside.

If it weren’t for the risk of being discovered by Yao Chen because of his Green Lotus Core Flame, he could have participated under his real identity.

If he won, he could obtain the sixth-tier Soul Mending Pill formula.

That way, if Medusa ever reappeared, he would have a way to keep this Dou Zong powerhouse by his side.

Otherwise, pacifying that woman would take some effort.

But giving up the Heavenly Flame? That was absolutely impossible.

He had already figured out a way to get the Poison Pill Method from Yao Chen.

So, he would never give up the Green Lotus Core Flame easily. Even if he didn’t absorb it, he would trade it to someone reliable.

That way, when the time came to control Xiao Yixian’s constitution, he wouldn’t lack a Heavenly Flame.

Besides, he had other ways to obtain the pill formula—it would just be a bit more troublesome.

Thinking of this, Lin Feng quickly regained his composure and smiled, ”It’s alright. Even without that champion’s prize, I believe I’ll be able to get my hands on a sixth-tier pill formula from somewhere else in the future.”

”That’s true. With your talent, reaching the sixth-tier level is only a matter of time.”

Fu Lan Ke stroked his beard and nodded.

Then, thinking of Lin Feng’s potential, he became even more determined to recruit him into his faction.

And the best way to do that was naturally through his disciple.

With that in mind, Fu Lan Ke continued, trying to entice him:

”My disciple wants to go out for a stroll tomorrow. Why don’t you accompany her? I’d feel more at ease if she had company. Of course, I won’t make you do it for nothing. If you spend a day with her, I’ll give you three days of alchemy guidance.”

”I have no problem with that.”

Lin Feng was about to refuse, but upon hearing Fu Lan Ke’s condition, he reconsidered and agreed.

”Alright, let’s head out then.”

Without waiting for Lin Feng to speak, Fu Lan Ke took the lead and walked toward the hall.

Sigh, I’ll just take it one step at a time.

Shaking his head with a bitter smile, Lin Feng stored away his cauldron and followed outside.

Fu Lan Ke’s arrangement was clearly another attempt to match him and Xue Mei.

Otherwise, how could a dignified Fourth-tier alchemist struggle to find a proper guard for his disciple?

”Feng Lin, I didn’t expect you to become a Fourth-tier alchemist so quickly!”

As soon as Lin Feng stepped out, Lin Fei approached, giving him a playful pat on the shoulder with a grin.

”Congratulations.”

Xue Mei also stepped forward and spoke softly.

Facing everyone’s congratulations, Lin Feng responded one by one.

At that moment, a man at the peak of Da Dou Shi slightly bowed and humbly requested, ”Master Feng Lin, I would like to ask you to refine a Fourth-tier Bone Restoration Pill. Would you be willing?”

”Bone Restoration Pill?”

Lin Feng recalled information about this pill.

Its primary function was to heal bone-related injuries.

However, since it was only a Fourth-tier pill, it could only repair recent injuries where the bone damage was not too severe.

Among Fourth-tier pills, the Bone Restoration Pill was considered relatively easy to refine.

Over a month ago, Lin Feng had already successfully refined Qi Gathering Powder, and after a period of consolidation, his success rate for refining Fourth-tier pills was up to standard.

Moreover, he had publicly refined Fourth-tier pills at the Alchemist Association before.

Thus, it was no surprise that people were now seeking him out for pill refinement.

However, after searching through his storage ring for a while, Lin Feng shook his head and said, ”Sorry, I don’t have the Bone Restoration Pill’s formula, so I can’t refine it.”

Upon hearing this, the man looked deeply disappointed. He cupped his hands and said, ”I see… I won’t disturb you then, Master.”

With that, he turned to leave.

”Wait, what price are you offering for the refinement?”

Lin Fei suddenly stopped the Da Dou Shi, asking with curiosity.

”I am willing to offer a Rank 3 ice-attribute magic core as Master’s payment. Of course, I will provide all the required ingredients for the pill.”

Seeing a glimmer of hope, the man quickly replied.

”Feng Lin, if you take us out for a stroll tonight, I’ll let you read the Bone Restoration Pill’s formula once. How about it?”

Lin Fei took out a scroll and waved it at Lin Feng with a teasing smile.

Since their master had placed them under Lin Feng’s supervision, they couldn’t go out without his permission.

So, she had to use this as leverage to tempt him.

Lin Feng hesitated for a moment.

These two girls seemed to be motivated by his success. A few days ago, they had actually managed to refine first-tier pills.

Moreover, they had even obtained first-tier alchemist badges from the Alchemist Association.

In about a month, Lin Fei and Xue Mei would return to Black Rock City with their master.

If he wanted to see them again, it would likely have to be at the Alchemist Grand Meeting.

Since he had time now, spending a night accompanying them wasn’t a bad idea.

After some thought, Lin Feng agreed to her request.

”Hehe, it’s a deal!”

Seeing his agreement, Lin Fei immediately tossed the scroll to him.

”Don’t worry, I never go back on my word.”

Catching the scroll, Lin Feng quickly read its contents before returning it to Lin Fei.

Then, he wrote down the necessary ingredients for the Bone Restoration Pill and handed the list to the Da Dou Shi, instructing him to gather them himself.

The man knew that the longer an injury lingered, the harder it was to heal with the Bone Restoration Pill.

So, in less than half a day, he returned with three sets of ingredients.

Upon receiving them, Lin Feng immediately began refining.

After one failed attempt, he successfully refined the pill and handed it over.

The man was overjoyed and thanked him profusely before handing over the Rank 3 ice-attribute magic core as payment.

As for the extra set of ingredients, they naturally belonged to Lin Feng.

That evening, Lin Feng took Lin Fei and Xue Mei to the Alchemist Trade Market.

Suddenly, Lin Fei remembered something and said to Lin Feng and Xue Mei, ”Have you heard? A few days ago, the Mittel Clan found the culprit who attacked their elder. Apparently, they even discovered a Heavenly Flame on him.”

Speaking of Heavenly Flames, Lin Fei’s beautiful eyes glowed with excitement.

As an alchemist, how could she not yearn for such a treasure that could enhance pill refinement?

Although she had never seen a Heavenly Flame before, she had heard Ao Tuo mention it a few times.

Xue Mei nodded and added, ”I heard about that. They say the Mittel Clan’s Grand Elder, the ’Ice Emperor’ Hai Bodong, came out of seclusion. Alongside the Pill King Gu He, the Yun Lan Sect’s leader Yun Yun, four Dou Wang-level elders, and three of the Empire’s Ten Strongest Experts—Mu Chen, Yan Shi, Feng Ling, and Lei Na—eleven top powerhouses joined forces to hunt him down. They fought a great battle in the eastern region of the empire.”

”Yeah, but unfortunately, they still couldn’t capture the ’culprit.’ It seems he was rescued by a mysterious Dou Huang.”

Lin Feng chuckled.

A few days ago, he had heard about Xiao Yan being chased by a group of powerhouses.

At that time, he had just advanced to Five-Star Dou Shi.

Upon hearing the news, he laughed even harder than when he had broken through.
