Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 282: Chapter 198: I Like Koraidon—and Everyone Else (4k)

On the surface, Naoki seems to treat every Pokemon well and likes them.

Koraidon worries that compared to itself, Naoki might like other Pokemon more.

Fluffy Pawmo, the caring Indeedee Sibling, the soft and cute Dragonite who knows how to Charm, the silly Psyduck, the loyal and reliable Garganacl...

Compared to them, it seems to be good for nothing other than farm work.

Koraidon’s heart felt a bit gloomy.

At that moment, it heard Naoki beside it say in a comforting tone:

”Actually, don’t be deceived by how calm I look now, I was quite startled when I first saw Cyclizar like that!”

Koraidon looked over: ”Argh?”

Naoki laughed: ”Cyclizar is still young; it was the first Pokemon I ever encountered. For humans, the first Pokemon is always special.”

”It’s sensible, reliable, and has been helping me with the work. To me, it’s like my own child.”

Saying this, Naoki recalled the events of the past few months with Cyclizar:

”At the beginning, Cyclizar knew nothing, whether it was plowing fields, planting, or transporting things, I taught it slowly, just like humans raising a child. Barring any surprises, we’ll live together for a long time.”

”The only regret I feel is not being able to witness Cyclizar hatch with my own eyes.”

Naoki felt quite regretful, and then thought of the worried expressions on the Pokemon in the ranch just now:

”If one day Cyclizar isn’t around, both I and Glaceon and the others will be very sad.”

Saying this, Naoki had thought Koraidon would be angry or jealous.

But when he turned around, he saw Koraidon with tearful eyes, as if about to cry at any moment.

Naoki: ”???”

Koraidon, learning from Dragonite, came up for a hug with visible grievance.

It thought to itself: ”Seeing you all so worried about me, the wait over the years was worth it.”

Naoki thought Koraidon cried from grievance because he mentioned liking Cyclizar more.

He felt amused, yet still patted its back: ”I like Koraidon too, along with everyone else.”

Koraidon murmured: ”Argh...”

What Koraidon? It had always been Cyclizar...

At that moment, the door to the treatment room opened.

Miss Joy walked out: ”Luckily, it was brought in timely; it was likely a chill caused by the sudden temperature drop. Don’t worry, the fever has gone down now.”

”Thank you.”

Naoki sighed in relief, and under Miss Joy’s guidance, walked into the ward, looking at the sleeping Cyclizar on the bed.

”When you get back, you need to pay more attention, preferably not letting Cyclizar battle in the next two days, keep it warm. Cyclizar is a temperature-sensitive Pokemon that fears the cold,” Miss Joy advised from the side.

Naoki nodded: ”I understand. Thank you very much, Miss Joy.”

Miss Joy gave a soft smile: ”No need to thank me; it’s our duty.”

Another trainer came to the Pokemon Center for treatment, and after giving some instructions, Miss Joy left the ward to attend to the visiting trainer.

At this point, Cyclizar woke up.

Naoki hurriedly went forward: ”Awake? How are you feeling?”

”Gao...”

Cyclizar seemed a bit embarrassed.

Naoki laughed: ”Alright, it’s time for us to go home!”

He took out a Poke Ball, recalled Cyclizar into it, and after paying Miss Joy the treatment fee, left the Pokemon Center.

When Koraidon arrived at the ranch, Naoki saw Keri’s big truck at the entrance.

Keri was playing with a timid Dragonair by the farm.

Seeing Naoki return, Keri stood up and said: ”Went to town?”

Naoki replied affirmatively: ”Cyclizar had a fever, I took it to the Pokemon Center for a check-up.”

Keri: ”Is it alright now?”

”The fever’s gone.” Having said that, Naoki handed the Poke Ball to the sister Indeedee, letting her take Cyclizar inside to rest, and reminded: ”Remember to close the doors and windows, don’t let the wind blow in.”

”Ai.” The sister Indeedee nodded gently, indicating she understood.

Seeing that Cyclizar was fine, Keri joked: ”You! Isn’t Cyclizar less than a year old? You’ve been letting it follow you around working in the field every day, and now it’s worn out and got sick, right?”

Naoki: ”...”

Upon careful consideration, he realized he had indeed been somewhat overworking a young Pokemon, so he earnestly replied: ”Thanks for the reminder, I’ll pay more attention in the future.”

Keri, knowing he cares about Cyclizar too, didn’t dwell on it and instead switched the topic to business:

”You see, the batch of glass materials I mentioned before finally arrived, I just happen to have time today. Are you sure you want to build a Glass Greenhouse?”

”Yes, I’m sure.” Naoki nodded. Over time, through selling cow’s milk, goat’s milk, and Rock Salt, he had saved up a considerable amount of money.

Though he still couldn’t build a large greenhouse, a Glass Greenhouse was feasible.

Seeing his nod, Keri said: ”Alright, have you chosen the location? If so, I’ll start the construction!”

Naoki had already made plans in his mind. He led Keri to the southwest corner of the ranch, right opposite the entrance of the Berry Garden: ”Here is good!”

Keri immediately set flags in the area.

Turning around, she saw in the Berry Garden, rows upon rows of trees already laden with various kinds of unripe Berries.
