Chapter 247: Chapter 183: Oranguru Tavern (4k)

Naoki nodded, ”Don’t worry!”

Keri had intended to leave directly, but seeing that some things in his old house hadn’t been moved to the new home, she stayed to help with Machamp.

Once all the furniture from the old house was moved out, Machamp carried the bar counter and tables and chairs from the car into the house.

The bar counter faced the entrance, with storage cabinets underneath for placing utensils and food.

There were wine racks and cabinets installed on the wall behind the bar, where juice and beer could be placed for guests to choose from.

Naoki had purchased a total of six sets of tables and chairs of different sizes for the tavern.

The smallest tables and chairs accommodated Pokemon like Pikachu, while the largest ones were for bigger Pokemon like Incineroar, Machamp, and Urshifu.

The fireplace in the old house was not dismantled so that in winter, it could be lit to provide warmth for the Pokemon visiting the tavern.

After everything was prepared, Keri drove away from the ranch.

Watching her figure fade into the distance, Naoki didn’t rest immediately but casually cleaned the tavern.

Only when he was sure that the floor was spotless and the walls were as clean as new did Naoki feel satisfied and stop.

Looking at the empty wooden walls around him, Naoki thought, ”When Teddiursa sends back photos, I can frame them and hang them on the tavern walls.”

These are memories of their travels, and besides being commemorative, they can let visiting Pokemon know that a helpful Teddiursa exists in this world.

”Finally done!”

Watching the beautiful sunset outside the window, Naoki couldn’t help but feel completely relaxed.

Next, there was just one final step.

With that in mind, Naoki closed the tavern’s doors and windows, took out a string of Wind Chimes from his backpack, and hung it under the eaves with the help of a group of Pokemon.

Coincidentally, a gust of evening wind blew by, and the Wind Chimes under the eaves emitted a pleasant ringing sound.

Cyclizar, Dragonite, Alcremie, Dratini, and other Pokemon were attracted by this sound.

Their eyes gleamed as they looked at the gently swaying Wind Chimes, uttering puzzled growls.

”Gao?”

”Owu?”

Naoki smiled and replied, ”That’s the sound of the wind.”

He led the Pokemon into their new home, ”Come in and have a look!”

The Pokemon poured into the house with anticipation, and at just one glance, their eyes lit up with surprise.

Looking at the clean, spacious living room, the soft carpet, and the large floor-to-ceiling window behind the white window curtains.

The dim yellow sunlight streamed in from outside the window, adding a touch of hazy color inside, making it look very cozy.

”Do you like it?” Naoki asked.

The Pokemon nodded repeatedly.

Naoki smiled, turned on the lights, and turned on the TV, letting Koraidon and others play in the living room, while he put on an apron and went to prepare dinner for everyone.

The kitchen was open-plan, allowing Naoki to see the Pokemon in the living room while he cooked.

The TV was broadcasting the evening news from the Paldea Region.

In this lively atmosphere full of life, Pawmo and Alcremie hopped around on the sofa, amazed at the elasticity and softness beneath them.

Seeing them, Dratini and Dragonair also flew over and did the same.

Cyclizar sat on another single-seater sofa, watching their antics with a grin.

Finding the sofa a bit cramped, Dragonite sat on the spacious carpet instead.

Koraidon stood nearby, happily watching this scene.

After dinner, the exhausted Naoki planned to go straight to sleep, but lying in bed, he found himself unable to drift off.

—The excitement and thrill of living in a new home kept him awake.

So, Naoki got up and went to the living room.

Looking at the wooden display shelf placed by the wall, he suddenly remembered there was something he hadn’t done.

Naoki turned and went back to his room, taking out the things Teddiursa had sent back and his previously saved possessions, arranging them on the display shelf one by one.

A Water Stone, an Everstone, a broken Poke Ball, a transparent glass bottle, pearls...

The commotion Naoki made woke up Cyclizar sleeping on the carpet in the living room.

Cyclizar opened its eyes, looking slightly puzzled, ”Gao?”

”Did I wake you?” Naoki asked somewhat apologetically, ”Sorry.”

Cyclizar yawned, rubbed its eyes, feeling less drowsy, and ran over to watch Naoki busy himself.

Naoki explained, ”These are things Teddiursa sent back. Since there aren’t many ornaments at home, I plan to fill up this display shelf with them.”

”Gao.” Cyclizar listened, somewhat understanding.

Soon, the wooden display shelf was filled with various props and rare items.

Naoki still wasn’t sleepy, and Cyclizar seemed quite energetic too.

After thinking for a moment, an idea sparked in Naoki’s mind.

He said to Cyclizar, ”Will you accompany me to the tavern?”

”Gao!”

Cyclizar nodded happily in agreement.

”Great.”

Naoki smiled and patted its head. Then, he opened the refrigerator, took out bottles of Berry Milk and some Berries, handed some to Cyclizar, and carried the rest himself.

The two quietly left the house, heading to the old house under the cover of night.

They pushed open the door, switched on the lights, and the bright light illuminated the whole room.
