Awakening a 10,000x Skill Proficiency Multiplier in the Apocalypse

It touched the towering, black encrypted iron spires. The spires silently dissolved into white void.

It touched the rivers of boiling magma. The magma simply un-rendered, leaving perfectly smooth, empty white ravines in its wake.

And it touched the prisoners.

Trillions of entities. Trillions of lives, memories, and centuries of unimaginable suffering. Wiped away in less than five seconds. The deafening, chaotic noise of the ultimate multiversal prison riot was abruptly, violently cut off, replaced entirely by the low, resonant, sterile hum of the formatting wave.

VMMMMMMMMM.

Back in the central chamber of the Hardware Level, Sebastian watched the horror unfold through his rear-view perception. His green Administrator UI was having an absolute, catastrophic meltdown.

The kill-feed wasn’t functioning normally. The server wasn’t logging deaths; it was logging mass deletions.

[Entities Deleted: 54,000,000...]

[Entities Deleted: 1,405,812,000...]

[Entities Deleted: 3,405,812,094,112.]

The numbers blurred across his vision, a cascading waterfall of pure, unadulterated genocide.

”You sick, sterile motherfuckers,” Sebastian breathed. His voice was no longer a sarcastic quip. It was a heavy, shaking rasp of genuine, unfiltered horror.

He had spent the last year surviving a universe that prided itself on brutal, visceral violence. He had seen players torn in half by Void Crawlers. He had seen warlords boiled alive in acid vats. He had ripped the spine out of a Guild Master with his bare hands.

But this was infinitely worse.

There was a twisted, undeniable honesty in physical violence. It was messy. It was ugly. But it acknowledged that the thing you were killing actually existed.

This was different. The Architects didn’t even give the prisoners the dignity of a death animation. They just hit backspace on trillions of souls because the localized data was causing a lag spike. It was the ultimate, sterile cruelty of a machine trying to play god.

”No. Absolutely not,” Sebastian snarled, his twenty-foot-tall avatar violently shuddering as he dug his static-laced boots deeper into the stone floor.

He couldn’t hold the wall. It was already past him, expanding outward into the void like a massive, inflating white balloon.

He yanked his hands out of the blinding light.

Sebastian spun around, his cracked porcelain mask staring out the massive stone archway, looking toward the abyss where Tartarus used to be. The entire dimension was gone. There was no black glass mountain. There were no red skies. There was only a flawless, infinite expanse of empty white space.

And the wave wasn’t stopping.

It was accelerating. The Genesis Protocol was picking up speed, expanding outward to format the rest of the Ethereal Plane.

Sebastian’s silver-tinged eyes narrowed as the terrifying math finally clicked in his highly optimized brain. The wave was going to hit the Juncture. And after the Juncture, it was going to hit the isolated coordinates of Earth.

”Okay. You want to wipe the hard drive?” Sebastian roared, slamming his heavy, glitching fists together. Sparks of jagged red error code and violent green static exploded outward, illuminating the sterile room.

He didn’t have time to mourn the deleted trillions. He had to stop the wave before it reached his front porch.

”Let’s see how you handle a critical hardware failure.”

—-

The Genesis Protocol did not care about the concept of speed limits.

Once it had completely consumed and sanitized the agonizing, blood-red dimension of Tartarus, the infinite wall of blinding white light breached the cosmic boundary line. It aggressively spilled out into the absolute darkness of the Juncture.

VMMMMMMMMM.

The low, resonant hum of the formatting wave echoed through the vacuum, a sound that bypassed the need for an atmosphere entirely. It was the sound of reality being aggressively overwritten with empty space.

The Juncture was a massive, sprawling graveyard. It was a chaotic, swirling mess of dark purple cosmic smog, floating rusted dreadnoughts, and the shattered, decaying crusts of deleted planets. It was the messy, disorganized back-alley of the Ethereal Plane.

The white light hit the purple smog.

FWIP.

The toxic, acidic clouds simply ceased to exist. The dark, bruised-purple colors were instantly washed away, replaced by a perfectly clean, sterile white void.

A massive, floating chunk of an assimilated cyberpunk city drifted aimlessly in the path of the wave. It was a towering, upside-down skyscraper covered in flickering neon signs and rusted iron scaffolding.

The white light touched the tip of the skyscraper’s radio antenna.

There was no explosion of concrete. The building didn’t crumble or shatter. The blinding light just swept over the structure, moving from top to bottom in a fraction of a second. As the wave passed, the concrete, the steel, and the flickering neon lights were silently erased into absolute nothingness.

Further out in the deep void, a small, heavily patched scavenger skiff was frantically burning its plasma thrusters. A crew of four terrified Outer Rim smugglers was desperately trying to outrun the expanding wall of light.

”Push the engine! Give it everything!” the captain shrieked, his four alien eyes wide with unadulterated panic as he stared at his rear-view monitors.

”I’m redlining the core!” his mechanic sobbed, frantically typing on a sparking console. ”It’s moving too fast! It’s deleting the localized space behind us!”

The white wave caught up to the thrusters.

FWIP.

The engine block un-rendered. A millisecond later, the hull followed. The captain opened his mouth to scream a final curse at the heavens, but the light washed over his face. He dissolved into a wisp of white, un-rendered data that faded instantly into the pristine void. The entire ship and its crew were gone without a single sound.

Back in the central chamber of the Hardware Level, Sebastian watched the apocalyptic expansion through his heavily corrupted, green Administrator UI.

His twenty-foot-tall, glitching avatar of black static and red error runes stood in the center of the dark stone room, entirely untouched by the wave that had already passed him by. He was a recognized, localized Administrator, which meant the formatting wave didn’t target him directly. It treated him like a system file that couldn’t be deleted while in use.

But it was deleting everything else.

”Stop,” Sebastian growled, his voice a distorted, metallic hum.

He didn’t just stand there. He raised his massive, jagged hands, his fingers crackling with violent green lightning. He tapped into his limitless, glitched mana pool, desperately throwing everything he had at the advancing wave.

”System! Compile [Law of Rotting Gravity]!” Sebastian roared.

He pointed his hands at the back of the infinite white wall expanding away from him. He funneled a massive, hyper-concentrated burst of absolute entropy and multiplied mass directly into the light, fully intending to rust the Genesis Protocol into a pile of harmless, orange dust.

*BZZZZT!*

The green and black malware slammed into the white light.

It didn’t work. The formatting wave didn’t age. It didn’t rust. The malware simply splashed against the pristine wall and was instantly, silently overwritten with [NULL] data.

*BING!*

A massive, arrogant red error window popped up in his vision.

[ERROR: CANNOT APPLY ENTROPY TO FORMATTING COMMAND.]

[Target is Immune to Localized Physics Edits.]

[Target is pure Kernel Logic.]

”Fuck you!” Sebastian yelled, swiping the error window away so hard he actually shattered the holographic projection.

He tried another angle. He didn’t use decay. He used raw, unadulterated physical force.

”System! [Concept of Mass]! Maximum threshold!”

He generated a localized, invisible gravity well the size of a small moon directly in the path of the advancing white light. He wanted to physically crush the wave, to compress the formatting command into a tiny, contained singularity before it could spread any further.

*VWOOOM!*

The massive gravity well engaged, tearing at the empty space.

The white wave rolled directly into the singularity. It didn’t slow down. It didn’t bend. The Genesis Protocol simply passed right through his conceptual walls, completely ignoring the gravitational sheer. It couldn’t be crushed because it didn’t possess physical weight. It was an operating system running a factory reset. You couldn’t punch a software update.

”Goddammit, it’s not a physical object,” Sebastian gasped, dropping his hands. His broad, static-filled shoulders slumped in a moment of genuine, terrifying realization.

His highly optimized brain processed the horrifying math of the situation.

He was the Sovereign of Laws. He had absolute control over the physics engine of the Ethereal Plane. But the Genesis Protocol wasn’t operating *within* the physics engine. It *was* the engine being turned off and wiped clean.

He couldn’t freeze it. He couldn’t burn it. He couldn’t drop a mountain on it.

He looked down at his green UI, zooming out on the multiversal map.

The blinding white wave of the Genesis Protocol was expanding in a perfect, three-dimensional sphere from the Core OS. It had already consumed twenty percent of the known multiverse.

And sitting exactly in its projected path, glowing like a tiny, fragile golden marble in the dark, was Earth.

Server 894.

”No,” Sebastian whispered, a cold, heavy spike of pure panic finally piercing his absolute confidence.
