Picking Up a Gorgeous CEO for a Wife

The SHIELD Bureau was once again bustling with activity, recording all the ships heading to Huaxia, dispatching hundreds of helicopters that whizzed toward the Pacific Ocean.

Unfortunately, the SHIELD Bureau was destined to return without success, while Qin Yu was playing some couple’s games with Holly Rosie in the luxury suite on the Happiness cruise liner.

Hearing the sound of helicopters flying past, Qin Yu was even more fired up, knowing that the SHIELD Bureau would sooner or later turn their attention to the sea.

Because instead of heading away, the Happiness was actually sailing toward Los Angeles, and the SHIELD Bureau had simply overlooked it.

In the minds of normal people, only a fool would use a luxury cruise liner for an escape. Isn’t the target too big? Besides, this yacht wasn’t running away but was approaching the Los Angeles port.

After a whole day of hustle, the SHIELD Bureau staff were nearly dead from exhaustion, yet they didn’t have any clues to show for their efforts, as detaining several international ships on the high seas led to a lot of protests and accusations against them.

Eventually, under pressure from all sides, the SHIELD Bureau could only reluctantly cease their operations.

Wesley and Henderson were about to die of frustration; they weren’t afraid of face-to-face combat! But they didn’t even get the chance to fight! What a stifling mission!

Without the help of the SHIELD Bureau, Wesley and Henderson had no way to continue searching for the Grim Reaper.

”Henderson, the SHIELD Bureau has stopped their operations, shall we go back?” Wesley said in a hoarse voice.

”Go back? To be scolded by Elder Ross? I don’t think so! Since we have two days for the mission, let’s just have a good time!” Henderson said with a sullen face.

”I’ll listen to you then, let’s enjoy ourselves for two days, at worst, we’ll be chewed out after going back,” Wesley sighed continuously.

Henderson kept flipping through his phone contacts, but what frustrated him was that his contacts were all his comrades’ numbers—he couldn’t even find someone to hang out with if he wanted to.

”Wesley, do you have any friends in Los Angeles who can show us a good time?” Henderson asked Wesley with a helpless look.

Wesley tilted his head and thought for a bit; ”I have a friend named Otto, he’s in the film industry, and he’s very familiar with Los Angeles. Let him take us out to have fun in Los Angeles.”

”Alright then!”

Wesley took out his phone and called his friend. The call was quickly connected, and an overly excited voice came through, ”Wesley! Is that really you?”

”Yes, it’s really me, my friend.”

”My God, how do you have the time to call me? Didn’t they say you’ve ascended?”

”Stop messing around, I’m just a Divine Chosen Warrior, merely a warrior of God.”

”A warrior of God is still a god! Tell me, what does a busy person like you want with me?”

”I’m pretty bored right now and want to have some fun. You should know Los Angeles well, can you recommend some fun places, and if you’re not busy, could you tour us around?”

”Wesley, you’re in luck! I’ll take you to a paradise for men tonight.”

”Paradise for men?”

”Yes, a paradise for men, on the Happiness. There’s nothing they don’t have, only what you can’t imagine,” the voice on the other end was fiery.

”Happiness?” Wesley paused, seeming to recall the name. Right, wasn’t that the luxurious yacht docked at the Los Angeles port? Mossas had even scolded his subordinates over whether or not to search the Happiness.

”How about it? Interested?”

”No problem, as long as it’s fun.”

”Where are you guys? I’ll send a car to pick you up.”

...

Due to a day and night without sleep, Lu Shiqi slept for a whole day after being taken away. When she woke up, Lu Shiqi started to make a commotion—she wanted to find Qin Yu!

Qin Yu and Holly Rosie had already been alone together for two days and one night. Lu Shiqi was very nervous, fearing that Qin Yu and Holly Rosie might do something that went beyond friendship.

Daoersen was quite troubled and could only avoid her, keeping Lu Shiqi under gentle house arrest in a suite, hoping her mood would calm down.

With a very strong-willed nature, Lu Shiqi chose to go on a hunger strike once she was under house arrest, almost driving Daoersen crazy! Just when Daoersen was about to lose it, Qin Yu’s phone call finally came through!

Daoersen finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Knock knock knock, Daoersen gently rapped on the door of the suite.

”Don’t bother with pretense; now that you’ve imprisoned me here, come in whenever you want.”

Daoersen let out a wry smile, gently pushed the door open, and said earnestly, ”Miss Lu, I truly didn’t imprison you. It’s just that if you went out now, you would only create trouble for Mr. Qin.”

”I would create trouble? Isn’t Holly Rosie causing trouble, then? Why can Holly Rosie be with Qin Yu, and I can’t?”

”Miss Lu, Miss Rosie can help Mr. Qin in some matters, but you can’t. Don’t worry, Mr. Qin hasn’t forgotten about you; he instructed me to take you to a masked ball.”

”Really?”

”Of course it’s true. But, Miss Lu, you should eat something first. You’ll need a lot of energy to attend the ball.”

”Hmm.” With news of Qin Yu, Lu Shiqi stopped her hunger strike and began to eagerly devour the food brought to her.

The network of the Death God Alliance was formidable; within just half an hour, the entire high society of Los Angeles received a message that tonight a high-end party would be held on the Happiness cruiser.

As the night deepened, countless speedboats started up, aiming straight for the Happiness luxury cruiser.

Wesley and Henderson were on a speedboat, where Wesley’s friend Otto was explaining to them the fun to be had on the Happiness cruiser.

After outlining the casino, the girls, the gourmet food, and so on, Otto said with a mysterious smile, ”Wesley, if I had your skills, I could easily win over a billion US dollars tonight!”

Over a billion US dollars? Wesley and Henderson’s breathing quickened. Although they were Divine Chosen Warriors, their salaries were not very high; only a few hundred thousand US dollars a year, which was hardly enough for them.

”How so?” The two stared intently at Otto, unblinking.

Otto said with a grin, ”The biggest fun on the Happiness is blood!”

”Blood? What do you mean? Are there Blood Clan on the Happiness? But, what does the Blood Clan have to do with over a billion US dollars?”

”I’m not talking about the Blood Clan; I’m talking about battles between men, bloody battles!”

”Isn’t private fighting forbidden aboard the Happiness?”

”Indeed, private fights are forbidden, but cage fights are allowed! If you’re willing to go into the steel cage and fight! Winning over a billion US dollars would be easy and simple.”

Wesley and Henderson exchanged a look, their brows furrowing deeply. The rules of the Temple were strict, and Divine Chosen Warriors were not allowed to attack ordinary people without just cause.

”Otto, I’m afraid we might disappoint you. The rules for Divine Chosen Warriors are very strict; we can’t simply attack ordinary people.”

Wesley shook his head in regret, his expression rueful. Money was certainly nice, but one had to be alive to spend it!

”Hahaha, Wesley, my friend, how could I let you be in a dilemma? Firstly, the fighters participating in the cage fight are not ordinary people, and secondly, most of these people have a lot of blood on their hands!

Here’s what we’ll do: I’ll have some of my ordinary fighters go into combat first. You watch the contestants, and if you think it’s okay, then you can enter the fray as well.”
