Picking Up a Gorgeous CEO for a Wife

400: [Chapter 0400] Why Not Do It 400: [Chapter 0400] Why Not Do It Diana gently shook her head.

The fact that Ye Qingyang could ask such an amateur question was astonishing.

If the Ye Family and the Mo Family hadn’t been on good terms, Ye Qingyang, the director, would have been dismissed long ago.

Patience wearing thin, Diana explained, “Director Ye, investing in movies is not just about cost-effectiveness, but about whether it will make money!

Looking at the current market, Dragon Country’s comedies have very mediocre prospects overseas, and the domestic TV and derivative rights income can be considered negligible.

All revenue comes from the movie box office.

As per domestic box office distribution conventions, the production company can receive about forty percent.

Option one is estimated to lose one million and five hundred thousand, while option two is projected to make a profit of four million and two hundred thousand.”

After Diana’s explanation, Ye Qingyang’s face turned crimson with embarrassment.

How could he, a director, ask such a foolish question?

Ye Qingyang cautiously glanced at Mo Yuqi, and seeing Mo Yuqi’s calm expression, felt a slight relief from his nervousness.

Most of the people had caught on and now looked at Qin Yu with the anticipation of watching a drama unfold.

“Mr.

Qin, do you understand now?” Having dealt with Ye Qingyang, Diana turned to look at Qin Yu.

Qin Yu, of course, knew why Diana had said all this; Diana wanted to prove that a cheap price is not enough to make money for the production company!

But Qin Yu had no intention of following Diana’s line of thought.

He curled his lip and said, “I’m sorry, Miss Diana, but I don’t understand at all.”

Diana said in a matter-of-fact manner, “Mr.

Qin, as I’ve just explained clearly, to get Baobao and Xuxu to act together only requires an additional one million and five hundred thousand, but to get Taotao and Xuxu, it would require an extra seven million!

However, hiring Baobao would result in a loss of one million and five hundred thousand, while hiring Taotao would bring in a profit of four million and two hundred thousand.

As you can see, low cost for good work cannot be the reason for me to employ you.

Please find another reason.”

Qin Yu wasn’t going to concede that easily and replied lightly, “Miss Diana, what makes you so sure that Baobao and Xuxu acting together will only attract a box office draw of thirty million?

What if their pairing pulls in a box office draw of forty million?

Wouldn’t that mean a profit of eight million and five hundred thousand?”

“Mr.

Qin, please do not question the Emperor Group’s most professional market research report.

The box office draw of Baobao and Xuxu acting together will not reach forty million,” Diana said, staring straight at Qin Yu.

“Miss Diana, there’s an old saying in our Dragon Country, ‘nothing is absolute.’ Under normal circumstances, the box office draw of Baobao and Xuxu acting together would not reach forty million, but what if Baobao suddenly became very popular after appearing on a hit variety show?”

Diana paused; she had to admit Qin Yu had a point.

But Diana couldn’t afford to admit defeat.

“Even if Baobao had the chance to suddenly appear on a very popular variety show, what does that have to do with you, Mr.

Qin?

Could it be that you, Mr.

Qin, could also suddenly rise to fame?”

“Why not?

What if the entertainment industry suddenly broke the news that I replaced Gao Moxuan as the male lead?

Can you imagine how much attention that would attract?

With that attention, how much box office would my new movie draw?

I fear it would far exceed Gao Moxuan’s box office draw!”

Qin Yu flashed a smug smile.

Huh?

Replace Gao Moxuan as the male lead?

Both Ye Qingyang and Zhao Yanjun’s eyes lit up!

Gao Moxuan, relying on his status, had actually turned down a movie from Feile Film and Television.

If they could take this chance to deal him a blow while promoting their new movie, why wouldn’t they be happy to do so!
