Counterfeit Hero

Fang Xiang didn’t notice that she had inadvertently been taken advantage of. Her gaze was drawn to the strange symbols on the virtual screen in front of Fatty.

”What is this?” Fang Xiang asked curiously.

”I’m reviewing the plan Carl devised through simulation.” Fatty was used to the surprise ancient deduction techniques sparked in others. Compared to modern simulation techniques, which are dense with lines of data and conditions, ancient deduction symbols look more like a child’s doodles.

Displaying the results of the automated simulation program, Fatty repeatedly verified it, unable to find any loopholes. Turning to Fang Xiang, he said, ”From the simulation results, Carl’s plan is reasonable.”

”You made the decision to support Carl’s plan based on this...?” Fang Xiang furrowed her brow.

”Yeah.” Fatty opened his pure eyes wide, looking justified.

Fang Xiang almost laughed out of anger. Such a weird scribble of symbols, arriving at so-called simulation results in just a few minutes, isn’t this taking war too lightly!

How is this different from ancient swindlers claiming to deduce universal truth and life trajectories by finger calculations?

You should know, modern war simulations have developed extremely refined over thousands of years, including considerations of force arrangements, combat power assessment, terrain, climate, logistics support, communication, information collection, and thousands of conditions that could impact the course of war. Furthermore, accidental variations and commander styles, these indicators that cannot be measured with data also require consideration.

While these conditions have long been integrated into the scope of simulation programs, still a simulation program is ultimately just a formula, and real data conditions still need input by the simulator.

In the same formula, a change in one condition may result in vastly different outcomes. Such precision work can’t be completed in less than ten minutes using these messy symbols!

If Carl’s operation plan is considered a risky strategy generated through standard military operations, then what Fatty did is completely nonsensical.

It’s as ridiculous as a child who can’t count spends a minute bending fingers to agree with the answer to a calculus problem.

”Are you serious?!” Fang Xiang looked at Fatty, who appeared solemn, and couldn’t suppress her anger.

If such a thing counts as simulation, then what did I learn in those seven or eight years at the Saleria Military Academy?

Even if supporting Carl and wanting to take on the Suss Transport Fleet, Fatty shouldn’t act like this!

”Serious!” Fatty nodded quickly.

”Alright!” Fang Xiang suddenly stood up, angrily said, ”You and I will have a duel simulation. Beat me, and I will support this operation plan!”

Fang Xiang’s voice raised in anger immediately attracted the attention of dozens of officers in the center of the simulation room. Carl and Cecilia, who had been repeatedly arguing the reasonableness of the plan, stopped their dispute.

As soon as Carl saw Fatty, his eyes lit up.

”Fatty,” Carl said excitedly, ”It’s great you’re here, hurry and review my operation plan again. If we delay any further, it might be too late!”

”I’ve already done it.” Fatty gave Carl a thumbs up: ”The plan is good!”

”You heard that?” Carl looked triumphantly at Cecilia and Fang Xiang: ”Now you have nothing to say, right?”

Cecilia impatiently said, ”Shut up!”

Carl obediently closed his mouth.

”How is it?” Fang Xiang raised her chin at Fatty.

”Why a simulation duel?” Fatty was surprised and tried to persuade sincerely, ”Sister Xiang, let’s finish the business first, and I’ll play with you afterward, okay?”

”Who wants to play!” Fang Xiang was fuming at the sight of this Fatty. She pointed at the messy symbols on the virtual screen: ”To get me to approve this operation plan, you have to prove it to me. I want to see how your simulation technique arrived at the answer!”

”You call this simulation?” Cecilia and the staff finally understood why the always graceful and composed Sister Xiang was so agitated. They stared dumbfounded at the virtual screen’s squares and circles. Who would dare believe the conclusions drawn from this mess? This isn’t taking warriors’ lives seriously.

Cecilia glanced sideways at Carl.

This guy had just been shouting for Fatty to do a simulation review. Fatty gave a thumbs up and became smug. Such a review is worse than none! This fool!

No wonder Sister Xiang wants to have a simulation duel with that foolhardy Fatty. To deal with such nonsense, this is the most direct way - aren’t you claiming your simulation technique has reviewed the operation plan? I’ll directly defeat you in simulation. At that time, see how credible your simulation is!

However, although contact has been brief, Cecilia knows Fatty has always been somewhat shameless. Unable to label deer as horses, he may point out some chicken or dog thing, that’s quite concerning.

Not only Cecilia and several Salerian combat staff sneer at Fatty’s simulation technique, but also a few Leray staff who’ve never seen these odd symbols look at each other in disbelief.

Everyone stared blankly at Fatty, all thinking: ”If you’re going to deceive people, at least have something that looks plausible. Out of hundreds of known simulation conditions, your messy symbols number only a few dozen, they don’t even fit together!”
