Counterfeit Hero

Kolev walked into the hall of the Black Devil Studio with his hands behind his back, moving leisurely.

”What a good mood.” Looking at a group of scientists surrounding the central computer, Kolev’s tone was as cold as the ice of November: ”It seems that none of you have put me, Kolev, in your eyes. At this time, you still have the leisure to stay here and watch the news.”

Upon hearing Kolev’s voice, everyone in the studio who was intently watching the virtual screen suddenly turned their heads, only to see Kolev with a livid face and a cold smile at the corner of his mouth slowly walking through the door. Behind him, twenty armed personnel from the Kasi Youth Party carrying automatic rifles filed in one after another.

The faces of the scientists turned deathly pale. No one was foolish; just by listening to the tone in Kolev’s voice, they knew that this butcher had come with ill intentions.

Despite his deep resentment towards Kolev, Belchi still pushed through the crowd, donned a smile, and explained to Kolev: ”Captain Kolev, look, we’ve all got our luggage ready and are about to leave...”

Kolev responded expressionlessly with an ”Oh,” suddenly turned his eyes to glare at Belchi, and shouted sternly: ”Then why are you still not leaving? Have you forgotten the ultimatum I gave you?!”

Staring at the dark muzzles of the twenty armed personnel, Belchi forced a smile and said, ”How could we forget your words, Captain Kolev, but there are still a few hours left until the ultimatum time. We just finished packing, and didn’t dare to delay.”

”Didn’t delay?” Kolev sneered twice, his expression sinister as he stared at Belchi: ”Do you think I’m blind? You’re all huddled here eagerly watching the news, and you call that not delaying?”

The scientists exchanged glances, not understanding why Kolev was so furious about them watching the news when there were still several hours left until the ultimatum, and they had paid a hefty sum to save their necks.

A young and impetuous researcher said, ”It’s just watching the news, there’s still...”

Before the researcher could finish, Belchi reached out to block him, stifling his words, and flashed a smile at Kolev: ”Captain Kolev, we will leave immediately, right away!”

Saying this, Belchi gave a meaningful look to the others, turned around, and went to pick up his suitcase.

Suddenly, ”Bang!” A gunshot exploded by Belchi’s ear.

Belchi turned back in horror, only to see the young researcher who had just spoken lying in a pool of blood with wide open eyes. A black and red bullet hole was in his forehead, and the back of his head was blown open by the bullet, with blood mixed with white brain matter spraying several meters away.....

As he looked up in shock and anger, the shooter was none other than Kolev with a hideous expression.

This butcher still maintained his shooting posture, looking cold-bloodedly at the corpse on the ground, saying: ”If I didn’t ask, who gave you the right to speak?” He then raised his head, giving the scientists a malicious smile: ”Since you don’t want to leave, then none of you will leave!”

Folman’s mind went blank as he stumbled to the window to look outside. At the street corner, over two hundred armed personnel from the Kasi Youth Party stood, like him, dumbfounded behind piled sandbags and barricades, staring at the Bandit Army Mecha arranged in a triangular assault formation not far away.

The Bandit Army Mecha showed no intention of attacking. They just stood there quietly, their formation neat, maintaining silence, like guests who had just rung the doorbell.

However, just by seeing them, everyone felt a chill rising from the depths of their souls.

Everyone present knew that from Puluo Town to here, it was nearly two hundred kilometers in a straight line, with nine large and small armed faction zones in between. Many of these factions were not weaker than the Kasi Youth Party. Some were even ones the Youth Party absolutely did not dare to provoke.

Who could have thought that in just over two hours, this mechanical army exuding a deadly aura would forcefully make their way through!

Two hours, two hundred kilometers, which also included the time spent defeating three local militias and almost annihilating the Tucker Freedom Brigade! Their advance speed of one hundred kilometers per hour is an insane statistic!

The bandit army took a shortcut! Just four words. The person speaking was calm, without a hint of emotion. Neither stern nor threatening.

But these lunatics used those four words to clear the way, sweeping through like a fierce autumn wind! Those who could not resist such domineering words obediently stepped aside. Those who resisted or even attempted to resist had disappeared... they couldn’t even slow the advance of these over two hundred crazed mechas.

At the start, the bandit army had two hundred thirty-eight mechas, and now, arriving here, they still had two hundred thirty-eight mechas! Not one less!

Now, these cold steel shells stained with the smell of gunpowder and blood stood in front of them, staring coldly at them. Just imagining the scene of these lunatics launching a charge made all the personnel from the Kasi Youth Party feel their legs go weak.

Their opponents were driving military mechas equipped with Energy Cannons and energy shields! These sandbags, trenches, and barricades in front of them were no different from paper in their eyes!

”The bandit army wants a shortcut!”

The cold voice rang out a second time.

Everyone shuddered, some armed personnel even dropping their guns in fear. Many people looked around anxiously and panic-stricken, seeking an officer authorized to respond.

This battle was unwinnable. At this intersection, there were only over two hundred infantry with outdated weapons and a dozen Private Mechas, not even enough to fill the gaps in their opponents’ teeth. Even if they pulled all the troops from other defense lines and resting breaks, it would only make the opponents spend a few more minutes at most.
