The Interstellar Queen of Scavengers

Chapter 1089: Chapter 1089: Search

Training Room.

It wasn’t until Ji You was utterly exhausted, unable to even muster the strength to move a finger, that she finally stopped. She lay flat on the carpet inside the mecha assembly room, letting her mind wander.

second.

seconds.

seconds.

...

Once Ji You felt she had regained a bit of strength, she forced herself to get up, holding onto the steps as she exited the mecha assembly room. In the hall, Ji You checked the training rooms of Chu Jiaojiao, Sheng Qingyan, and several others, and the display showed they were still in use. They were being used by Chu Jiaojiao and others, which meant these people were still training and hadn’t stopped.

Ji You pondered for a moment...

Continue training?

Her body couldn’t take it; overdoing it could result in injury.

So, Ji You decided to go to the library to consult some materials.

The school’s library is open to the public, but it’s divided into four zones: A, B, C, and D. The materials stored in Zone D are the most superficial and basic, costing the fewest credit points or university alliance points to read.

A-level is the highest.

Anyway, since consulting anything is free for her right now, Ji You started with Zone D.

Gazing at the Little Golden Dragon asleep on her shoulder, a flicker of concern flashed in Ji You’s eyes. Resolutely, Ji You clenched her fist, determined to look up information on biological mechas, Sparrow Yellow, and Star Beast Crystals.

Ji You first entered the mechanical manufacturing section of Zone D.

After searching, about Sparrow Yellow, there were only a few words, saying it’s an extremely rare Heavenly Material and Earthly Treasure, with a chance of occurrence being one in ten million.

Star Beast Crystal?

This item is completely absent from the mechanical manufacturing materials room of Zone D.

Ji You frowned slightly and then searched for biological mechas. Information about biological mechas was also particularly scarce; Ji You only found that a laboratory on Yunding Star was genuinely conducting research on it, with some theoretical basis already established, and experiments underway, with stage results expected to be released in 3-5 years.

Yunding Star?

This planet’s name sounded somewhat familiar to Ji You.

Thinking for a moment, Ji You patted her forehead: ”Isn’t this the planet where Senior Shi Ya went for a mission last time?”

Yunding Star’s geographical location is rather unique; it’s situated in the Sixth Star System governed by the Alliance, the Eighth Star System governed by the Galaxy Empire, and the Seventh Star System governed by the Blue Light United States and over a dozen regions.

Additionally, it’s adjacent to star systems beyond the Eight Star Systems...

Overall, due to its unique geographical location, it’s a complex place, nominally belonging to the Alliance, but actually, many people from other countries and regions live here, so, correspondingly, the stability of Yunding Star is somewhat lacking, making it not the best choice for ordinary residents.

...

”Yunding Star already has a laboratory conducting research on biological mechas?” Ji You frowned and murmured to herself, ”But biological mechas have already been successfully researched. However, the teacher said the Little Golden Dragon is a hidden existence.”

Ji You knew that the Little Golden Dragon had not been disclosed to the outside world, but Ji You didn’t know that biological mechas in the outside world only had some theoretical basis and hadn’t achieved any results.

This...

Ji You felt somewhat complex inside.

The Little Golden Dragon is a product from 50 years ago; it’s not just a biological mecha but also a fierce and unprecedented mecha. This shows how strong the repairman must be.

Repairman...

What kind of person could they be?

For the first time, Ji You felt a great sense of curiosity.

Besides an old laboratory on Yunding Star publicly declaring it’s designing related research into biological mechas, the Alliance, Empire, and other countries and regions also have laboratories conducting research in this area, but unfortunately, no results have appeared.

Biological mechas, for the current era, are like a big pie people have drawn for themselves, looking big, round, and sweet, but impossible to consume.

Biological mechas aside.

Ji You focused on Star Beast Crystals. A 12-level Flame Beast Crystal could save the Little Golden Dragon’s life, which gave Ji You enough motivation. Her eyes fixed firmly on the library bookshelf...

After searching thoroughly, there was zero information on Star Beast Crystals.

No snippets, no rumors, nothing at all.

Ji You frowned slightly: ”Could it be the D zone has too little information?”

Then.

Ji You left Zone D and headed to Zone C.

Likewise, Ji You searched for the three items: biological mechas, Sparrow Yellow, and Star Beast Crystals again. Zone C’s information still only had a few words about Sparrow Yellow. About biological mechas, though, there was a bit more.

Ji You found from the information that the Alliance’s most famous mechanical master, Song Qingfeng, had actually researched biological mechas before, but later voluntarily abandoned it, turning to study stored mechanics.

Why did Master Song Qingfeng voluntarily abandon biological mecha research?

For masters like this, if they’re not interested, they absolutely won’t attempt to do it. If they are interested and have started, they are generally not easily discontinued. Yet, Master Song Qingfeng abandoned biological mecha research.

What made Ji You furrow her brow was the search result about Star Beast Crystals—

—0.

Still zero.

What exactly is this Star Beast Crystal? Is it truly this rare? Rare enough that no information can be found in the market?

Teacher Mu said the function of Star Beast Crystals is equivalent to a special Soul Device, but the effect is even better than a Soul Device, as both physical strength and spiritual power would be enhanced. It’s like something magical, like ginseng fruit or Tang Monk meat.

But—

Obviously, the matter isn’t this simple.

Relating to the function of Star Beast Crystals, Ji You unconsciously furrowed her brow and turned to the Zone B library. Upon arrival, she was suddenly stopped at the door by a robot: ”Student, may I ask if you have a pass?”

Ji You: ”???”

Politely, the robot said: ”To freely roam Zone B, a certain fee must be paid and your own strength must reach a certain level; only upon acquiring the pass can you continue.”

Ji You: ”...”

Ji You’s expression darkened slightly as she said: ”But when I came here, I didn’t see any notice that Zone B or higher requires an additional pass.”

The robot pointed to a row of small text on the notice board beside them and said: ”We have it said here.”

Ji You: ”...”

Ji You asked: ”How does one acquire a pass?”

The robot said: ”Pay a one-time 50,000 university alliance points, and it doesn’t accept credit points. Additionally, physical strength and spiritual power must both reach B-level.”

”...” Ji You said speechlessly, ”You’re robbing, aren’t you?”

50,000 points!!!

With a straight face and impeccable reasoning, the robot said: ”Student, do you mean you are unwilling to process it?” After asking, the robot prepared to delete Ji You’s processing information, at which point Ji You gritted her teeth and said angrily, ”You’re just raising the price intentionally, right?”
