The Interstellar Queen of Scavengers

Chapter 1035: Chapter 1035: The Outlook Is Grim

When a gigantic mechanical arm reached over and picked up Ji You and the Little Golden Dragon, Ji You didn’t feel any offense; instead, she felt a motherly warmth and care from the cold, temperature-less arm.

At that moment, Ji You was nearly moved to tears.

Unexpectedly, the next second—

A stinger struck across the sky, hitting the mechanical arm, which trembled violently. The Little Golden Dragon, hanging from it, was almost knocked off by the impact.

Clang~

Clang~

Clang~

Inside the Mecha, Ji You and Liu Fufeng were thrown around, both landing hard on the ground.

The Mecha was still shaking violently. Lying on the ground, Ji You and Liu Fufeng exchanged a glance and simultaneously reached out to hold onto the table leg beside them.

Ji You wrapped her legs and feet tightly around the table leg, managed to free a hand, and wiped her face, crying out, ”Ye Qian... Senior... Hands! Steady... steady your hands.”

”Cough...” Liu Fufeng said, ”About... to kick the bucket.”

Hundreds of gigantic Black Thorn Bees swarmed over in an instant. In a hurry, Ye Liqiang swung the mechanical arm hard and shouted, ”Hold tight, I’ll toss you guys to the back.”

After a roar, the mechanical arm swung abruptly in a parabolic arc, smashing towards a piece of open ground in the back. The Little Golden Dragon shrank its body, stretched out its claws, and quickly clung to a circular building on the ground.

Swoosh~

It couldn’t hold on and slid down. At that moment, a door opened from inside, and the Little Golden Dragon scurried inside.

Bam!

The door closed swiftly.

Ji You and Liu Fufeng stumbled out of the Little Golden Dragon’s hatch, and upon looking up, they saw Chu Jiaojiao, Sheng Qingyan, Shen Changqing, Yue Qiyuan, and Yue Qiguang.

At that moment, seven people, seven pairs of eyes, stared at each other, all seeing a mixture of emotions in each other’s eyes.

”4444...”

”Ji You...”

”You... you...”

Ji You didn’t rush to speak. She looked at her companions, who were lying all over the place looking very disheveled; her gaze focused on whether anyone was missing an arm or a leg. From what she could see, apart from Yue Qiguang’s arm being twisted outward, everyone else was intact...

So, Ji You furrowed her brow at Yue Qiguang and disdainfully said, ”2222 Yue Qiguang, it’s clear! You’re the weakling among us fighters.”

Yue Qiguang: ”...”

Yue Qiguang’s twisted arm hurt, hurt a lot, and he was drenched in cold sweat, losing even the strength to talk. But after hearing Ji You’s words, he jumped up, rushed in front of Ji You, stared at her for a few seconds, and then shouted, ”Number 4444! Dad is really happy! For the first time, Dad finds your noise amusing too. Cough...”

He hadn’t finished speaking when he suddenly coughed up blood.

Splash~

The blood splattered all over Ji You’s face. Ji You wanted to reach out to support him, but Yue Qiguang was whisked away by Yue Qiyuan and Chu Jiaojiao. Ji You frowned and asked, ”What’s going on?”

Chu Jiaojiao and Yue Qiyuan forcibly dragged Yue Qiguang to the only medical bed. Yue Qiguang still wanted to sit up: ”Dad’s fine! Dad’s lively as ever!”

”Shut up!” Yue Qiyuan shouted sternly, ”If you make noise again, I’ll smack you to death!”

Though he spoke sternly, Yue Qiyuan’s actions were gentle, even with a tremor he couldn’t conceal.

This was the first time everyone saw Yue Qiyuan so harsh to his brother and also the first time they saw him showing evident concern and anxiety for his brother.

Yue Qiguang quieted down.

Ji You turned to Yue Qiyuan, who was frowning deeply, and said, ”He shielded me and Shen Changqing from a deadly blow.”

Yue Qiguang immediately raised his chin proudly and said, ”Dad not only saved these two idiots but also counter-killed a Black Thorn Bee. The key is, Dad just hurt his arm—bleh—”

Another mouthful of blood was coughed up.

Yue Qiguang: ”...”

Dammit!

Dad’s image of wisdom and might!

Ji You commented quietly, ”Looks like the internal injuries are not light.”

Yue Qiguang hurriedly said, ”Dad doesn’t have any inter—bleh—” nal injuries...

Ahhh!!!

Ji You said, ”Little Guangguang, do repair those blood vessels; you’re bleeding too badly.”

Yue Qiguang: ”...”

Shen Changqing and Sheng Qingyan were both leaning weakly on the other side, clearly exhausted of their fighting strength.

Seeing Ji You and Liu Fufeng safe and sound, everyone felt happy. Shen Changqing and Sheng Qingyan just looked at Ji You eagerly, pointed at their mouths, but said nothing.

Chu Jiaojiao supplemented, ”These two warriors caught arrows barehanded and injured their throats.”

Ji You: ”...”

Ji You said speechlessly, ”Shouldn’t it have injured the hand?”

Chu Jiaojiao said, ”Perhaps the Black Thorn Bee suddenly became more interested in their heads halfway, thus switched attack targets, and in urgency, they used their throats to catch the arrows.”

Shen Changqing and Sheng Qingyan: ”...”

Ji You sighed, ”Brain-dead indeed.”

Both of them: ”...”

The two were so angry they were almost mute.

Even though Chu Jiaojiao had only briefly summarized with a few words, Ji You could already imagine how thrilling that scene must have been.

Lying on the bed, trying to keep himself steady, Yue Qiguang awkwardly asked, ”Number 4444, why aren’t you dead?”

Ji You’s hand shook, and she forcibly resisted the urge to beat him up, saying, ”What nonsense are you spouting? Me, dead? You’d have to reincarnate 8888 times, and I’d still be alive and kicking! I’m the Universe’s undisputed number one strongest!”

Seeing that Ji ”Fib Teller” You’s solo show was about to start again, everyone turned their eyes to Liu Fufeng in the corner.

Liu Fufeng, who had a weak sense of presence, quietly explained, ”Classmate Ji You brought me along, compressed the spaceship’s energy and propulsion systems, blew up and killed a few Black Thorn Bees, then we took the opportunity to dig a hole and escape.”

Everyone: ”Oh—”

They understood.

Ji You glared at Liu Fufeng, vigorously explaining, ”I didn’t, I haven’t, don’t listen to his nonsense. I heroically broke through the siege driving the Little Golden Dragon! No digging holes, that’s all made up.”

Just then, the Little Golden Dragon, having reverted to palm-sized, glared at its Luoyang Shovel angrily and said, ”Woman! My shovel broke digging, you have to compensate me!”

”...” Ji You’s mouth twitched slightly.

Yue Qiyuan and the others: ”Oh—didn’t dig a hole, huh?”

The Little Golden Dragon urged, ”Compensate me!”

Ji You coughed forcefully, glared at the Little Golden Dragon, and said, ”It’s just a crappy shovel. Once we get back, I’ll compensate you however many you want. Now stop talking, don’t blow my cover.”

The Little Golden Dragon said, ”This shovel in my hand was modeled after the only complete Luoyang Shovel preserved in the Alliance Museum today. It’s a true work of art with practical functionality. The maker is Master Song Qingfeng.”

Ji You was shocked: ”No wonder I thought a mere iron shovel was so useful.”

The Little Golden Dragon said, ”It’s currently worth 10 million credit points.”

Ji You: ”...”

Yue Qiyuan added, ”Master Song Qingfeng has completely withdrawn from the cold weapons industry and has shifted to Mechanical Manufacturing, so this should be a limited edition, and the price has doubled.”

Ji You: ”...”

Ji You raised her hand: ”Bye.”

The group briefly inquired about each other’s situations; knowing that no one was dead and they were temporarily alive, they felt relieved. However, the situation outside the fortress remained grim.

Swarming over were massive Black Thorn Bees, numbering at least a hundred, all with Level 5 strength or higher.

Apart from the giant bees, ordinary Black Thorn Bees were continuously flying over, while on the human side, Ye Liqiang led a garrison of 16 people, and as for Ji You’s group of wounded individuals, they were so injured and exhausted that their combat strength was practically zero.

The disparity in strength between allies and enemies was huge!

It’s looking bleak.
