The Interstellar Queen of Scavengers

Chapter 780: Chapter 780: Big Appetite

The location of Eagle Space Station, although it’s just the outer front line, it is still the first checkpoint on the front line and plays an important strategic role. Therefore, the entire station is under strict guard and does not allow outsiders to wander about freely.

Ji You, Chu Jiaojiao, Shen Changqing, Sheng Qingyan, Yue Qiguang... all the students did not want to trouble the warriors on the front line and consciously stayed in the training room without wandering around aimlessly.

Ji You couldn’t help herself, she raised her hand and touched the Mecha in front of her that she coveted so much—Blade.

As her fingertips touched, the cold sensation transferred from her fingertips to Ji You’s perception. In that brief moment, Ji You could even imagine the invincibility and unstoppable force of Blade when slaying enemies.

[Mecha Name: Blade.

Level: 8 stars.

In service for: 60 years, 3 months, and 19 days.

Current pilot: Wang Meng.

Previous pilots: Yan Jian, Xu Qingqing, Xie Kang, Jack Burns, Yuan Xijiang.

Count of enemies slain: 754315.

...]

The data before Ji You’s eyes made her entire being shudder, and for a moment, she seemed to peer through time and space, witnessing the glorious past of this Heroic Mecha.

And—

The greyed-out names and photographs of its former pilots symbolized the heroic history behind the Mecha.

Ji You felt a sourness in her throat.

This world never had heroes descending from the heavens, only ordinary people who stood up to become heroes.

They...

Their lives forever fixed in that year, but their fearless spirit, perpetually immortal!

A group of students initially entered the training room in high spirits, and then they all fell silent.

Then, everyone started to train quietly.

In the training room, only the sounds of training could be heard, again and again.

Time ticked away.

After three hours of training, when it was mealtime, Senior He Bi made a communication call, and Ji You and the others went to the cafeteria on their own.

Upon arriving at the cafeteria and seeing Senior He Bi standing at the food window, Ji You and the others almost thought they had returned to Lanyue Star.

He Bi smiled and asked, ”What will you have?”

Ji You, Chu Jiaojiao, Shen Changqing... they all followed Senior He Bi’s scoop and saw:

Braised pork ribs, steamed fish, fried rice with egg, spicy crab, salt and pepper shrimp, apple pie, matcha cake, milk tea...

Hard dishes, cold dishes, desserts, drinks... The variety was astonishingly complete!

Everyone’s eyes widened, and they all drooled uncontrollably.

He Bi said, ”Wake up, if your drool falls into the food, you’ll get beat up.”

Ji You chuckled and asked, ”Um, Senior, how does the food serving work? Are there any restrictions?”

He Bi smiled and said, ”No restrictions.”

Everyone: ”Ah?”

Ji You, clutching her chest, said, ”You mean, it’s all-you-can-eat?”

He Bi nodded: ”Yes.”

Ji You and the others: ”!!!”

They all couldn’t believe it!

Ji You suspiciously stared at He Bi, scrutinizing him before asking incredulously, ”Are there really no hidden catches?”

Annoyed, He Bi used the serving spoon to shoo her away, saying, ”Are you eating or not? If not, next person.”

Ji You cautiously inquired, ”Um, Senior, how about the charges?”

The inexplicable expenditure of over 50,000 credit points at Kite Space Station still served as a cautionary tale for Ji You.

He Bi, in disgust, said, ”It’s free! All food is free! If you keep on babbling, then it won’t be free anymore!”

Ji You’s brows rose and her eyes twinkled upon hearing this. She looked at He Bi as if he were her own brother, ”Senior He Bi, please give me one of each.”

He Bi glanced at her: ”Can you even finish all that?”

As he spoke, he raised his hand and knocked on the nearby dining reminder: [Cherish food, please clean your plate, and do not waste food.]

Ji You quickly nodded her head: ”I can finish it all! I totally can!”

Despite his doubts, He Bi still ordered one of each item for Ji You, but after the order was placed, He Bi grimaced and said: ”No taking leftovers to go.”

Ji You: ”Understood!”

Next up was Chu Jiaojiao, who, after some thought, decided that ordering one of each would be too much for her to finish and didn’t want to waste food, so she only chose a few of her favorites.

Shen Changqing did the same, but he mostly ordered desserts.

Then it was Yue Qiguang’s turn, and he ordered a huge amount of meat.

...

After everyone got their food and sat down at the table, they began to eat.

Then, after a few bites, they couldn’t help but pause and look at Ji You in slight shock.

Yue Qiguang couldn’t help but ask: ”Idiot 4444, tell daddy how many stomachs you actually have?”

”Not many, just 2.” Ji You replied nonchalantly, continuing to eat at a leisurely pace. Despite her slow motions, the food disappeared swiftly, almost at a pace of one piece of meat per second, and one cake every five seconds.

Yue Qiguang: ”Sure, keep bluffing.”

Ji You finished another portion of pepper shrimp and said, ”I’m not lying! I’m telling the truth.”

Honest to God, the truth.

Doesn’t she and Xiao You pretty much count as having two stomachs?

During this period, to avoid disturbing Ji You’s evaluation and not to waste her spiritual power, Xiao You decided not to contact her sister frequently, keeping to herself while studying material processing in Iron Plate Space.

This time, seeing the opportunity for free good food, Ji You couldn’t resist inviting Xiao You to join her.

Cough cough...

Of course, these weren’t things she could conveniently mention to Yue Qiguang and the others.

Inside Iron Plate Space.

After eating, Xiao You suddenly belched. Her cheeks couldn’t help but blush. Xiao You raised her hand, touched her cheek which, being incorporeal, felt neither cold nor hot and lacked any touch, but Xiao You still felt her heart warmly kindle as she whispered: ”Sister, I’m full, really full.”

Recently, Ji You had been filling up on many things to enhance her spiritual power, especially Cloud Mist Tea and Candy Beans.

Ji You smiled: ”Good, being full is good. Whenever you want to eat something, let your sister know. I’ve got money to take care of you.”

Xiao You blushed and said, ”Mhm.”

In the future, she would also try hard to earn money to take care of her sister.

...

Having eaten their fill, the students relaxed in the canteen as there was still an hour before the spaceship was fully charged. At this moment, He Bi came over to check if the students had left too much uneaten food.

He Bi especially checked Ji You’s plate until he confirmed she had finished and hadn’t packed any food secretly. He gave Ji You a weird look and said thoughtfully: ”Short and with a huge appetite - you’re really one of a kind.”

Ji You: ”...”

Ji You retorted: ”Senior He Bi, is a personal attack really necessary over a bite of food?”

He Bi chuckled: ”What personal attack? I’m just telling it like it is.”

Ji You asked unhappily: ”Senior, other seniors are too busy to touch the ground, how come you have so much free time?”

He Bi: ”...”

Ji You: ”It’s not because you’re too weak to do anything else but odd jobs, right?”

It was only then, upon checking today’s canteen announcement, that Ji You realized that today’s lunch was prepared by He Bi and a few other students.

He Bi was in charge of the cooking, and it had to be said, his culinary skills were quite impressive.

After Ji You finished speaking, He Bi’s mouth twitched, but!!! This impudent little junior was actually spot on.

However, He Bi was only able to work in the kitchen and a few other positions not because he lacked strength, but because he lacked experience.

He Bi rolled his eyes and said: ”What ’odd jobs’? I’m a jack-of-all-trades. I’m like a versatile little brick, wherever I’m needed, that’s where I go.”

While they were talking, the entire Space Station suddenly broadcast an emergency assembly alert—
