The Interstellar Queen of Scavengers

Chapter 773: Chapter 773: One Mishap After Another

In a corner of the starry sky of the Sixth Star System, an uneven battle is about to commence.

Without any disturbance or influence from the Beast Tide, the High-level Star Beasts are not merely low-level creatures that act solely on instinct. On the contrary, they are rather intelligent. The Sea Iron Bull that Ji You and the others are facing now, from the fact that it knew to ambush them in advance, it is clearly intelligent, and this also means that it is difficult to deal with.

And—

A group of rookies who’ve just obtained their Basic Mecha Driver’s Licenses up against a level 8 Sea Iron Bull, there’s no doubt, this will turn into a one-sided massacre.

—a massacre of the students by the Sea Iron Bull.

Ji You’s psychological pressure is like a mountain collapsing and a tsunami hitting her. She clenches her teeth tightly, refusing to let her tension and anxiety show. She then shouts loudly, ”Everyone, follow my command—”

Except for Sheng Qingyan and Xuzhou who were piloting the spaceship, Chu Jiaojiao, Yue Qiguang, Yue Qiyuan, Shen Changqing, Zhang Ye, Lou, and Lance, all seven faces turned solemn at once.

Ji You: ”Aim for the eyes!”

Whoosh—

Whoosh—

Whoosh—

...

Ji You draws a huge Energy Bow and Arrow, firing the first shot at the Sea Iron Bull!

At the same time, the others follow suit.

As the Sea Iron Bull, with its giant horns, is about to ram the spaceship—

At the critical moment!

The scene is incredibly tense and thrilling, but all of the students manage to remain calm, their ranged weapons firing simultaneously at the eyes of the Sea Iron Bull!

Bang!

Bang!

Bang!

All three of Ji You’s arrows hit their mark, and, sticking in the pupils of the Sea Iron Bull, the creature violently twists its body, desperately trying to pull out the accursed Energy Arrows. But alas...

Its body is too enormous, making its movements too cumbersome, and it can’t pull them out in a short time. Ji You’s precise shooting has instantly given the others confidence.

Shen Changqing, Yue Qiyuan, Chu Jiaojiao, and Yue Qiguang all hit their targets.

Lou, Zhang Ye, and Lance miss, but they don’t get discouraged and immediately adjust themselves, waiting for the next attack command.

All of this happens in a mere instant, the Sea Iron Bull, in pain, keeps rolling its massive body in the space—

Ji You’s voice is steady: ”Spicy Eye—”

Sheng Qingyan gets the hint, and as the Sea Iron Bull comes to a brief halt, she immediately pulls the spaceship to maximum speed.

Boom—

The distance between the spaceship and the Sea Iron Bull is widened once again!

Seeing this, the Sea Iron Bull howls in frustration, giving up on pulling out the arrows and chases after them again—

Ji You raises her hand: ”Attack the nostrils!”

She stands in front of Chu Jiaojiao and the others, her slender and small figure erect and correct, and her voice is even and rhythmic, no different from casual chatter, showing no sign of change.

Chu Jiaojiao, Shen Changqing, Yue Qiyuan, Yue Qiguang, Lou, Lance, and Zhang Ye, all, like Ji You, remain calm and indifferent—

As the words fall, the ranged weapons shoot incessantly at the target like intensive rain.

Whoosh—

Whoosh—

Whoosh—

Countless arrows and Energy Bullets miss, but several firmly lodge into the nostrils of the Sea Iron Bull!

The Sea Iron Bull staggers, opening its mouth in pain: ”Ao—”

Taking advantage of the Sea Iron Bull’s brief pause, Sheng Qingyan adjusts the command, and the spaceship once again creates distance from the Sea Iron Bull. Seeing this, the Sea Iron Bull grows even more angry and madly charges around in space! The annoying insect in front of it is always out of its attack range; otherwise, it could crash this insect into smithereens!

Ji You’s voice is grave: ”Spicy Eye, pay attention to the course.”

Sheng Qingyan narrows her eyes: ”Don’t worry.”

Through the monitor, watching the Sea Iron Bull constantly colliding like a mad bull, a single slap from it even shattered a small asteroid about a hundred meters in diameter to pieces...

This scene still did not cause any change of expression on Ji You’s fair face. She stared intently at the screen, calculating the best moment to make a move. Then, when the Sea Iron Bull roared, Ji You spoke calmly: ”Attack its mouth!”

Chu Jiaojiao and the others immediately sprang into action!

Bang!

Bang!

Bang!

The hits on its body, although not fatal, were like annoying mosquitoes, biting you from time to time. Ji You and the others’ actions completely enraged the Sea Iron Bull!

It gave up caring about those tickling attacks and began to speed up frantically, vowing to squash that distant bug in one hit!

Huff~

Huff~

Huff~

Watching the Sea Iron Bull’s frenzied movements once again narrowed the distance to the spaceship.

Ji You: ”...”

On the surface, Ji You was steady as an old dog, but in her heart, she was already:

Fuck!

Fuck!

Fuck!

Sea Iron Bull, your clumsy body and your nimble posture are out of sync!

Damn it!

It must be cheating!

How are we going to escape now?

After discovering this terrifying Sea Iron Bull, Ji You, Chu Jiaojiao, Shen Changqing, and the others briefly discussed and realized that it was impossible to withstand it head-on, so everyone unanimously decided to play it safe.

Shen Changqing had specifically calculated the speed of the spaceship against the theoretical speed of a level 8 Sea Iron Bull. According to the calculations, as long as they managed to hold out until Jump Point 38, Ji You and her team could escape to safety!

Jump Points are a great invention of human technology. They utilize wormholes and space folding technology to artificially create nodes in the vastness of space that link one space to another, greatly shortening the distance of space travel.

Of course, Jump Points, being a man-made technology, also have their limitations. The biggest limitation is the exorbitant cost of manufacturing. All Jump Points found throughout the eight major Star Systems where humans are active have been constructed in cooperation by the Alliance, the Galaxy Empire, and a few other nations.

...

Fortunately, because Jump Points are human-made, Star Beasts do not use them. If you are unfortunately encountered by High-level Star Beasts in space, escaping into a Jump Point is also a good way to save your life.

Ji You and her team planned to escape into Jump Point 38.

But!!!

The damn Sea Iron Bull suddenly cheated, speeding up by half compared to before, and was about to catch up!

However, according to everyone’s estimates, the Sea Iron Bull couldn’t sustain such high explosive power for long, so there was still a chance for the spaceship to escape.

Ji You was about to raise her hand to continue giving orders when suddenly—

Sheng Qingyan suddenly shouted in horror: ”Oh my God!”

Everyone looked at the monitor and instantly widened their eyes: ”Fuck!!!”

Not far from the set course of the spaceship, two planets collided, suddenly unleashing a terrifying burst of energy. If the spaceship continued its course, it would definitely get caught in it and be torn to shreds!

In her heart, Ji You was incessantly cursing, biting her lip so hard that she drew a deep red mark without realizing it.

Staring at the screen, Ji You suddenly asked: ”How far are we from the first checkpoint on the front line?”

Shen Changqing was stunned: ”You want to go to—”

The front line?

Yue Qiyuan immediately shook his head: ”No, that’s too dangerous.”

Although the first checkpoint was on the outermost part of the front line and not at the central point of combat, it still posed a certain degree of danger...

Ji You waved her hand, resolutely saying: ”No matter how dangerous, we must go. My mission is to ensure the safety of the crew’s lives if there is even a sliver of a chance for survival!”
