Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 1312: Hereditary Curse

”What have you done to incur the wrath of heaven?” You Feng asked.

You Jian was also curious about this, as he couldn’t sense Zhang Fei’s killing intent or bloodlust, even though he had both activated all the time.

”Sigh.” Zhang Fei let out a soft sigh before spreading his killing intent and bloodlust within the room.

You Jian, You Feng, and their assistants hurriedly moved away from Zhang Fei, as his killing intent and bloodlust were too frightening and suffocating for them, forcing him to suppress the two of them back.

However, Zhang Fei’s actions did not escape the attention of the seniors of the You Clan, and two people appeared in the room while glaring at him.

You Feng spoke to them directly. ”Grandfather You Ran! Grandmother Tan Yunxi! Please don’t misunderstand this young man; he has no intention of attacking us; instead, we asked him to show us his killing intent and bloodlust.”

”Brother Feng is right, grandfather and grandmother.” You Jian also spoke to the two new arrivals. ”We were discussing several things earlier, including the heavens. Young Miss Luo told us that the heavens were trying to kill her husband, but we didn’t know the reason; thus, we asked him to explain it to us.”

”Which Luo Clan?” Luo Yunxiao showed her jade identity to Tan Yunxi. ”Eh? Are you really a member of the Luo Clan of the Immortal Lotus Sanctuary?”

Luo Yunxiao nodded with a smile. ”Senior, my parents are Luo Fenghan and Huang Xiaoyi. Not many people from other domains know about my existence, but everyone from the Empyrean Domain already knows about me because they were present at our wedding.”

”I see.” Tan Yunxi nodded in understanding. ”No one will dare to claim to be a member of the Luo Clan of the Immortal Lotus Sanctuary as long as Luo Meizhen and the four of them are still alive and kicking.”

”Hehe.” Luo Yunxiao giggled at that. ”Grandma Meizhen and the others are still alive, and they are getting stronger now; otherwise, those heretics would have attacked our clan long ago.”

”I haven’t seen them in decades, and the last time I met them was when your parents returned to this realm. They invited us to Luo Zhenyu and Luo Jiaxuan’s wedding, but we were forced to miss their wedding due to some issues.” Tan Yunxi then looked at Zhang Fei. ”Is he really your husband? How could Xiaoyi let you marry him if he never liked a dual cultivator?”

Luo Yunxiao hugged Zhang Fei’s arm before explaining. ”Senior, I was born in one of the realms of the Three Mortal Realms, and we were childhood friends. We grew up together until we were ten years old, and I have liked him since then. Unfortunately, he was born as an ordinary mortal, and we had to part ways when my parents returned to this realm. Although I wasn’t sure we would ever meet again, I kept waiting for him to come to me. Fortunately, he managed to become a cultivator and ascended to this realm, and my hundreds of years of waiting were worth it, as we are now married.”

”I see.” Tan Yunxi nodded in understanding and spoke to Zhang Fei. ”You are truly fortunate, young man. Your wife is the princess of the Immortal Lotus Sanctuary, and men would surely flock to her if they knew of her existence, but she chose to wait for you for hundreds of years. Therefore, you must always love, protect, and look after her well.”

Zhang Fei smiled in response. ”Senior, Yunxiao is my wife. Naturally, I will always love her, and I will kill anyone who dares to hurt her.”

”That’s good.”

”Grandfather, look at these weapons.” You Feng approached You Ran and handed over the three weapons that Zhang Fei had placed before. ”This young man forged them by himself, and none of us helped him in the process.”

With just one look, You Ran could see that these three were immortal-grade weapons, but he was shocked to hear that Zhang Fei forged all three by himself. Moreover, he was not assisted by anyone in the process, and he also forged them in a short time. ”Do you—”

”Grandfather, this young man is a true supreme-rank blacksmith, unlike us swordsmiths.” You Ran nodded to You Jian, who immediately continued. ”Additionally, he is a god-rank alchemist and a god-rank swordmaster.”

”What?” You Ran and Tan Yunxi exclaimed, staring at Zhang Fei in shock.

Luo Yunxiao smiled in amusement at their reactions. ”Seniors, my husband is an expert soul cultivator, and he believes that something within your souls may be preventing you from forging weapons other than swords. Therefore, please allow him to examine your souls to determine whether his guess is correct.”

’How did he learn all of them at such a young age?’ Both of them inwardly wondered, but then Tan Yunxi asked Zhang Fei. ”How did you suspect that there’s something inside our souls, young man? In fact, we once asked Hun Lingwu of the Immortal Soul Palace to examine our souls, but he found nothing inside.”

”Senior, swordsmithing is one branch of blacksmithing, right?” They nodded to Zhang Fei. ”If you can forge swords, then you should also be able to forge other types of weapons, which makes me believe there is something unusual in your souls. After all, the soul is the most essential part of a living creature, so I want to examine your soul to find the cause and satisfy my curiosity.”

Tan Yuxi turned to You Ran, who nodded to her before speaking to Zhang Fei directly. ”Since you have such confidence, I will allow you to examine our souls. I don’t mean to belittle you, but Hun Lingwu of the Immortal Soul Palace is the best soul cultivator in this realm, and he couldn’t find anything inside our souls.”

”Whether my suspicions are correct or not, we’ll know the answer after I examine your souls, so please take them out now.” After You Ran, You Feng, and You Jian released their souls, Zhang Fei immediately activated his soul domain. He carefully checked their souls, and he found a small black symbol on all three of them.

’What kind of black symbol is that?’ Zhang Fei tried to touch one of the black symbols, but a black creature suddenly came out of it and attacked him, shocking all of them. Fortunately, they were in his soul domain, so he could immediately restrain the black creature. ”This—Gah!”

The sudden attack knocked Zhang Fei back, but he swiftly stabilized himself. However, the black creature disappeared as it returned to the black symbol.

”Are you okay, husband?” Luo Yunxiao asked, supporting her husband.

Tan Yuxin also asked Zhang Fei, ”Do you know anything about that black symbol and black creature?”

”I’m fine, Yunxiao.” Zhang Fei forced the three men’s souls back into their bodies and deactivated his soul domain. ”I don’t have any information about that black creature, but I suspect it’s a curse.”

”A curse?”

”Yes.”

You Ran and the others exchanged confused glances, as they had never experienced or encountered anything or anyone that could curse them.

”Are you sure about that, young man?” You Ran asked.

Zhang Fei nodded in response. ”Honestly, I’ve never seen a curse before, but I’m sure that the black symbol and the black creature are part of a curse technique. I don’t know how it got into your souls, but I think it’s a hereditary curse, and all members of your clan have inherited it from your ancestors.”

”A hereditary curse?” Tan Yanxiu then asked her husband. ”Did your clan’s ancestor ever experience such a thing in the past?”

”I’ve never heard of that, and my ancestors are no longer around, so we can’t find out the real information.” You Ran turned to Zhang Fei and asked him a question. ”Who do you think has that kind of curse technique?”

”Heretic cultivators or demons.”

”Demons?”

Zhang Fei nodded at him. ”The witch demon races are not only skilled in potions, but they are also skilled in curse techniques.”

”Husband, I thought that heretical cultivators would never use such a restrictive curse, and they would use a killing curse.” Luo Yunxiao spoke.

”Yes.” Zhang Fei then spoke to them. ”At first, I thought I could help you with this, but the results were different from what I had imagined. I don’t have any information about curse techniques, so I can’t do anything to help you. As Yunxiao said just now, those heretics would never use such a restrictive curse, so I dare say that the one who cursed your clansmen is a member of the witch demon race, and only a member of their race can remove it from your souls.”

You Ran nodded in understanding. ”I’m not knowledgeable about the demon races, but I’ve heard that the witch demon race is almost extinct, and no one has ever seen them again because their numbers are too few in this realm.”

”Actually, I once heard from an acquaintance that there is a witch demon active in the Nightshade Domain, but it is close to the Celestial Demon Domain. If we go there, the celestial demon race will definitely notice our presence, and they will attack us directly.” You Ran agreed with Zhang Fei. ”Mo Shentian is too strong, and he can bend reality. If we meet him, we will definitely die at his hands.”

”How are you familiar with the demon races, young man?” Tan Yuxin suspiciously asked.
