Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 1178: Family Reunion

”This sect has changed a lot compared to the last time I came here.” Huang Xiaoyi spoke as she surveyed the area around the floating plateau from the air.

Luo Fenghan smiled bitterly upon hearing this, especially since the last time Huang Xiaoyi visited the Moonlit Passion Sect was hundreds of years ago, which was because he was affected by Qing Qiu’er’s abilities. ”Our son-in-law wasn’t joking; he completely overhauled it.”

”Who are those people, Sect Master Luo?” A woman in her early thirties asked Luo Fenghan a question while pointing to several people below them.

The woman has a mature, serious but pale face. Her lips were covered in a bold shade of red. Her eyes were sharp and slanted, framed by long dark lashes, and her gaze carried calmness. Her dark hair was swept back neatly, decorated with an ornate little golden crown. She has a slim, tall, and strong build. She wore a black and gold outfit, crafted with intricate details and patterns that emphasized her modest and firm breasts.

Luo Fenghan turned to her. ”They are people that my son-in-law brought from the Three Mortal Realms, Nong Qinwei. They are not just humans but also many mythical beasts, like dragons, phoenixes, vermilion birds, and several other races.”

”Those two women are demon foxes, right?” Nong Qinwei, the Sect Master of the Hidden Moon Sect, pointed at Tian Gongzhu and Tian Jianxia, who were standing in front of the Medical Hall along with several others.

”You’re right, Sect Master Nong.” Huang Xiaoyi answered her. ”If I recall correctly, they were Tian Gongzhu and Tian Jianxia. They were originally ordinary foxes, but our son-in-law turned them into demons, mainly because their race wanted to kill him.”

”Oh.” Nong Qinwei tilted her head to the side. ”Did you meet them before, Yin Chang?”

Yin Chang, the Vice Sect Master of the Hidden Moon Sect, shook her head. ”Back then, Zhang Fei summoned many beasts, but he didn’t summon those two, Big Sis.”

”I see.” Nong Qinwei then asked Luo Fenghan and Huang Xiaoyi again. ”Does Zhang Fei intend to accept demons in this sect?”

Luo Fenghan and Huang Xiaoyi exchanged glances for a moment before nodding. Not all demons are evil, and many of them are more righteous than self-proclaimed righteous cultivators, like the winged race. He will accept everyone in this sect regardless of their races.”

”Yes.” Nong Qinwei didn’t deny it. ”Do you think Zhang Fei will succeed in uniting all the races in this sect? Cultivators like us might not think it, but many cultivators out there will despise him and this sect, and they might consider this sect a heretic sect.”

”Only time can tell, Sect Master Nong.”

Nong Qinwei nodded slightly before looking at Qing Qiu’er, who was flying toward them. ”Welcome to our sect, Sect Masters and Clan Leaders. Since you’ve arrived ahead of schedule, you’ll have to wait for the other guests to arrive first. Shall I lead you on a tour of our new sect? For the past seven months, we’ve built many new things to transform this sect.”

”Where is Zhang Fei, Sect Master Qing?” Ma Kuangyu asked.

”Over there.” Qing Qiu’er pointed toward the back of the mountain. ”That place is covered by a special barrier now; only he and those closest to him can enter.”

”I’ll go see him first.” Ma Kuangyu directly flew there.

”Please lead us, Sect Master Qing.” Huang Xiaoyi furiously glared at Luo Fenghan, making him laugh bitterly in his heart. ’Tch! We’re already an old couple, and Qing Qiu’er is Zhang Fei’s partner now, but she’s still jealous of her.’

Qing Qiu’er naturally noticed Huang Xiaoyi’s reaction, but she said nothing and led them to look over the results of rebuilding their sect. She explained to them about the functions of each hall, including the people who were in charge of them.

What surprised them most was the presence of Tian Huangjin, Tian Huotian, and Tian Zhiling in the medical hall. Moreover, Qing Qiu’er informed them that the three had decided to join their sect, and they would be in charge of the hall alongside Elmyra and several others.

Zhang Fei [5] immediately came out as soon as he sensed Ma Kuangyu’s presence. ”I went away to reshape my body for a few years, and you gave me a lot of surprises once I came back, kid.”

”Haha.” Zhang Fei [5] laughed and hugged Ma Kuangyu for a moment. ”Congratulations! You’re alive again now, Old Ma. As I promised, I will remove my soul mark from your soul, and you will no longer be bound to me.”

”You don’t have to do that, kid.” That confused Zhang Fei [5], but Ma Kuangyu patted his shoulder and clarified. ”We’ve been together for decades, and we’re more than just friends now. Moreover, your soul mark isn’t a slave mark, so I don’t mind it. By the way, are you ready to face many obstacles? Your decision today will attract the attention of many people, especially those greedy and arrogant old cultivators. With their character and disposition, I’m sure they will bring you a lot of trouble in the future.”

Zhang Fei [5] nodded at him. Old Ma, you have lived with me for such a long time, so you should already be familiar with my character, right? I’m not doing all this to show off, but I have no other choice if I want to build my strength in this realm. Unlike in the Three Mortal Realms, I can’t waste time here, and I have to move faster. Otherwise, I will continue to be several steps behind them, and I will have difficulty building my strength. Eventually, those people will find out about me. If they’re truly jealous of me, they’ll definitely attack me and this sect for whatever reason, and my actions today will only speed things up.”

”That’s true,” Ma Kuangyu then told him something else. ”I’ve met and discussed with several members of my Ma Clan, and I’ve also spoken with Zhuang Qihong before. Starting today, our two clans will join your sect, and we will move them here soon.”

Zhang Fei [5] was quite surprised to hear that, but he was thrilled that the Ma and Zhuang Clans joined them, especially since both clans were much stronger than his people. ”I think that’s good, and I will ask the giants to construct a new area where your two clans will reside.”

”Alright.” Ma Kuangyu and Zhang Fei [5] suddenly sensed two powerful auras heading toward their sect, and they immediately looked outside the barrier, where two people had just arrived. ”Aren’t they—”

”Yes.” Zhang Fei [5] nodded. ”I’ll meet them first, and you can explore the other areas of the floating plateau to choose a good location for your Ma Clan and the Zhuang Clan.”

Zhang Fei [5] had already arrived outside the barrier, and he immediately cupped his hands to the two newly arrived cultivators. ”Welcome to my sect, Senior Shengyun and Senior Lingzhu.”

”Aren’t you addressing us wrong, Zhang Fei?” Jia Lingzhu responded with a faint smile.

Jia Shengyun immediately spoke. ”We’ve heard about your relationship with our granddaughter, and you invited us to attend this event because of her, right?”

”Haha.” Zhang Fei [5] laughed awkwardly before changing his address to them. ”Welcome, Grandparents-in-law.”

Both Jia Shengyun and Jia Lingzhu nodded in satisfaction hearing that. ”Is our granddaughter also in this sect now?”

”Not yet.” Jia Shengyun and Jia Lingzhu looked disappointed by that, but Zhang Fei [5] immediately enveloped them with his aura, surprising them. ”I’ll take you two to meet Yuyan now.”

Once they arrived inside the barrier behind the mountain, Zhang Fei [5] opened the portal to the training space. Jia Yuyan walked out from inside, surprising Jia Shengyun and Jia Lingzhu once again.

”Grandpa! Grandma!” Jia Yuyan ran to them and hugged them both. ”I missed you two so much! We’ve been apart for thousands of years, but we’re finally reunited now!”

”Hahaha.” Jia Shengyun laughed and hugged her back. ”Thousands of years for you, but tens of thousands of years for us, remember?”

”We missed you too, Yuyan.” Jia Lingzhu hugged her granddaughter tightly. ”I’m happy to be able to hug you again like before, but I’m really surprised that you’re already a fully grown woman now.”

Jia Yuyan was momentarily stunned before releasing her hug from them. ”Did Senior ten-tailed fox tell you two about our relationship?”

”Yes.” Both of them nodded at her, and Jia Shengyun then explained. ”Jia Zizhen received a report about Zhang Fei, and he suspected that he was the heir of the ten-tailed fox. He ordered us to bring you home immediately, but we couldn’t track or contact you. Therefore, we went to see him, and he told us that you two were already husband and wife.”

”As expected.” Jia Yuyan sighed heavily.

Jia Lingzhu then asked her. ”How did you meet Zhang Fei and become his wife?”

”He’s a bad egg.” Jia Yuyan gestured to Zhang Fei [5], making him rub his nose. ”It’s a long story, so we should sit down first, and I’ll retell everything to you two.”

”Won’t Jia Zuzhen be able to detect Yuyan’s presence?”

Zhang Fei [5] shook his head. ”This barrier is a void barrier, and not everyone has an understanding of the void element. Therefore, you two don’t need to worry about him, and the three of you can chat freely here. By the way, guests are starting to arrive, so I’ll meet them first.”

”Alright.”
