Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 1136: Four Perils

After they left the town hall, Luo Fenghan took his turn to meet Puyang Shangren. He took his two sons and daughters-in-law with him.

”Did you get any good items, husband?”

Zhang Fei [5] nodded at Luo Yunxiao. ”I got the Abyssal Demon Heart, but I need to find the remaining four items to reach the advanced ranks. Additionally, I got two pills, a weapon, and a scroll.”

”Are those two pills related to dual cultivation?” Yan Jinwu curiously asked.

”Hahaha.” Zhang Fei [5] softly laughed and took out the two pills. ”The golden-red pill is the Dragon-Phoenix Pill, and it will enhance the Yang Qi I release and the Yin Qi I obtain. This way, you guys will get more of my Yang Qi, and I will get more of my Yin Qi from you all. The effect will last a whole month, but this pill is quite rare and difficult to concoct, and we can only consume it once a year.”

”Only a whole month?” Luo Yunxiao and the others were disappointed by the effect, mainly because their numbers were simply too numerous.

Zhang Fei [5] smiled amusedly and pinched their cheeks one by one. ”Even though the effects only last a month, it’s not a big deal, right? I can release my Yang Qi almost without limitation, remember? Moreover, all of you won’t be able to accommodate too much of my Yang Qi, and I still have many other types of pills, so I think a whole month is excellent.”

”Then, what is the second pill?” Huli Haohao asked, pointing his index finger at the deep red pill on his hand.

Zhang Fei [5] showed them the pill and explained, ”This Nine Suns Flame Pill is one of the extreme Yang Pills, and its effect naturally boosts my Yang Qi. Its main ingredient is the Nine Suns Flame Fruit, and it grows once every thousand years under nine suns. We need several other very rare ingredients to concoct it, such as Sun Chalcedony, Dawn Flame Nectar, Solar Peony Petals, Firebird Blood Essence, and Inferno Wolf Beast core.”

”Such a rare pill!” Huli Zhishen and the others claimed.

’Then, why did you only buy one, husband?’

Zhang Fei [5] pinched Zhu Lingyao’s nose. ”Why are you being so greedy? This pill is truly rare and expensive, and Senior Puyang only has this one. If he had more, I would buy more for our seclusion.”

’Oh!’ Zhu Lingyao nodded in understanding.

Zhang Fei [5] then put away the two pills. ”By the way, those items aren’t cheap, and my pills aren’t valuable to Senior Puyang, so I don’t know if you’ll be able to get any good ones later.”

”Hehe.” Luo Yunxiao giggled and hugged his arm. ”Husband, they are my sisters, and I have saved a lot over the past hundreds of years. If you don’t have enough jewels, I will use my savings to help them obtain the items they desire. My parents have all my needs met, so I don’t need to spend any jewels to buy my necessities, and I’ve saved everything since we returned to this realm.”

”Sister Yunxiao, how much have you saved since then?” Wang Yourou and the others looked at her with expressions full of curiosity.

Luo Yunxiao shook her head at them. ”Secret! I won’t tell you guys, but I’m sure my savings are enough for all of us.”

”Hahaha!” Yan Jinwu laughed heartily and patted her shoulder. ”It’s really nice to have an ultra-rich sister like you, Sister Yunxiao.”

Zhang Fei [5] let out a soft sigh in his heart, especially since he had tried so hard to collect jewels for all his wives and family members after several years, but the results of all his efforts were hard to compare with the wealth of the Immortal Lotus Sanctuary.

Zhang Fei [5] then approached Qing Qiu’er, You Feiling, Su Yao, and the disciples from the Moonlit Passion Temple to discuss plans for the future of their sect.

Inside a magnificent black palace, several furious roars and the smashing of objects continued to be heard from within.

In the middle of the throne room, there are four beasts surrounding a screen showing the Ancient Leiyu Tianlu slaughtering the evil beast, and their expressions were full of anger as they watched that.

”Bastard! How dare that damned beast slaughter all our subordinates!” One of the four beasts in the throne room shouted furiously.

The four beasts are none other than the four perils: Taotie, Qiongqi, Taowu, and Hundun.

Taotie is a stocky quadruped beast with a bulky body covered in mottled gray, green, and reddish scales. It has a massive head with two large curved horns sweeping backwards, plus a single long central horn jutting forward. It has a wide and gaping mouth, full of sharp teeth.

Hundun looked like a pig; it had a round, plump body with no distinct neck or head. It lacks visible facial features, possessing a smooth, blank front. It has two large sets of black-and-white feathered wings emerging from the back. It has four short, stout legs, and its body is colored in warm orange-red tones.

Qiongqi is muscular-looking, with a tiger-like body covered in orange fur with black stripes. It has large fangs and sharp ears pointing backwards. It has large, feathered wings, bluish in color, sprouting from the shoulders. It has a long tail, elongated snout, and powerful limbs ending in clawed paws.

Taowu resembles a lion with powerful legs and a fierce gaze. Its feline face had a thick, pale blue mane, and its snout displayed rows of large, sharp teeth. It has two long tails with pronged tips, like serpents.

”Shut your mouth, Hundun! Your screams disturb my hearing!” Taowu spoke.

Hundun turned to him, but no one knew his expression, especially since he didn’t have a face. ”What exactly is that beast? Why does it slaughter our subordinates?”

”Are you senile? Isn’t the beast’s identity clear?” Qiongqi responded with a shake of his head.

Taotie then spoke to them. ”That beast is clearly the mysterious merchant’s mount, and it’s an ancient mythical beast, but it is entirely different from the beast that beat us in the past. The beast we faced in the past was indeed powerful, but it wasn’t as ferocious as this one.”

”You’re right, brother.” Qiongqi replied with a nod. ”The beast only attacked our subordinates who attacked those natives, but it didn’t attack our passive subordinates. At that time, I believed I would die at the beast’s hands, but it chose to spare us due to its master’s orders; otherwise, the four of us would have perished long ago.”

”Brr.” Taowu shivered in fear, recalling the events from that time. ”That damn beast back then had a small body, but its strength was too terrifying. I was already using my full strength at the time, but it blocked my all-out attacks with just its tail.”

Taotie, Qiongqi, and Hundun also looked frightened after Taowu said that. ”By the way, what about that foolish demon? Has he still not contacted you?”

”Not yet.” Taotie shook his head in response. ”The last time he contacted me was about two decades ago, but that was only about five months in that realm. At that time, he informed me that he had fought against a male human who possessed various elements, including both light and darkness. Additionally, he told me that the Abyssal Leviathan Demon Beast had resurfaced along with another beast whose identity was not yet clear, but I suspect that it was the Ancient Devourer Beast.”

”Doesn’t our master want to get those two beasts? Do we need to inform him of their whereabouts?” Qiongqi asked.

”If you want to die, you can inform our master now.” Qiongqi glared at Taowu. ”Our master wanted to get those two beasts, but he ordered us to capture them, remember? What will happen if we report to him but haven’t captured them? Do you think he’ll spare us? Even if he does, he’ll punish us severely first.”

Qiongqi nodded in agreement. ”Since we can’t do anything in the Forbidden Land now, I think we should focus on the Three Mortal Realms first. We have too many tasks, and we haven’t completed any of them yet.”

”Phew!” Hundun sighed before speaking. ”We have tasks involving those two beasts, the ten demon seeds, the Nin Yin Soul Banner, the Abyssal Demon Heart, and many more. What if we send our other subordinates to that realm? I never believed in that foolish demon, and he has wasted too much time collecting all of them.”

”No need.” Taotie rejected Hundun’s idea. ”Give him a few more years, and we’ll send our subordinates to the Three Mortal Realms if he still fails by then.”

The other three frowned at him, but Taotie hurriedly left the throne. ”What exactly happened to him? Why does he seem afraid of something in the Three Mortal Realms?”

”No one knows.” Taowu replied with a shake of his head. ”Apparently, we are not the only ones who lost many subordinates, and those demons have the same fate as us.”

Qiongqi immediately walked away. ”We lost too many subordinates today, so we must reorganize them; otherwise, we would be overwhelmed if those birds attacked us.”

The situation in the Ten Hell Monarch Main Domain was also very chaotic, and the ten demon gods had gathered there to discuss the situation affecting their demon race.

”Can one of you explain the situation to me?” A female demon god asked them.
