Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 931: Blood Flame

Zhang Fei [1] nodded at Serpentera. ”Iʼve been waiting for the Blood Flame for so long, so I must succeed in getting it.”

”Hey, kid, you used shortcuts too often, or else you wouldnʼt have been able to reach the 2-Star Saint Realm in just eight months.” Zhang Fei [1] turned to Tian Kui, showed him a true foundation pill, and explained it to him. ”Oh? I didnʼt expect an alchemist in the three mortal realms to have such a pill, but does this pill really not leave any sequelae?”

”Not at all.” Zhang Fei [1] replied with a shake of his head. ”Back then, I used the nine revolutions pill to stabilize my cultivation, but it left behind sequelae. Fortunately, Lin Jingxia gave me the recipe for the true foundation pill, and its effects were close to perfect. Unfortunately, concocting the pill took half a year, and the process was extremely complicated. The ingredients were also rare, but I was lucky because I had two dryads by my side, and one of them could clone herbs.”

Tian Kui nodded in understanding. ”You are indeed lucky to have them, kid. Dryads are the most sought after by alchemists because of their abilities with plants, but not many have managed to find them, especially since they always live in complicated places.”

”Yeah, youʼre right.”

Serpentera then informed Zhang Fei [1]. ”Kid, in the last half year, I detected Xerethʼs movements, and he has already gained several new subordinates to replace those who fell into your hands. He ordered two of them to go to the lower and middle realms, and the others were busy looking for something in the upper realms.”

Zhang Fei [1] was shocked to learn that Serpentera could detect anything from such a long distance, which made him realize how terrifying the strength of the cultivators in the Five Celestial Realms truly was. ”Those two demons are likely heading towards my home realm and the Netherworld Realm, and the rest of them are probably looking for the Heavenly Fox Race, or maybe they are also aiming for the Abyssal Realm. Since that demon once fought with you, he wouldnʼt dare to send his new subordinates to you.”

”Hahaha! Heʼs too much of an idiot if he dares to send his subordinates to me.” Serpentera laughed loudly. ”Do you need our help to sort them out?”

”I donʼt have time for other matters, and I want to focus on my cultivation more. Therefore, I would appreciate your assistance in sorting them out.” Zhang Fei [1] didnʼt need to think to decide.

”They are small fries; we can deal with them easily.” Tian Kui said confidently. ”However, we will not help you fight Xereth, especially since Taotie will know of our presence here. If he sends his avatar here to hunt us down, the three mortal realms will be doomed.”

Zhang Fei [1] also did not expect Taotieʼs avatar to descend into the three mortal realms, which would be troublesome for everyone. ”Itʼs okay, you two donʼt need to deal with Xereth. Moreover, his injuries should still be severe, especially since a winged raceʼs avatar from the Paradise Realm injured him a year ago.”

”Oh?” Serpentera and Tian Kui were surprised to hear that, prompting Zhang Fei [1] to explain to them. ”In that case, you donʼt need to think about that demon, and Iʼm sure his injuries wonʼt be able to recover in just a year.”

”Letʼs go now, Old Kui! The sooner we go, the sooner we get home.”

After the two ancient demon beasts disappeared, Zhang Fei [1] went to see Wang Yin, who was monitoring the situation in the realm. ”Congratulations! Your cultivation has gotten closer to the Seven Divine Realms.”

”Thank you.” Zhang Fei [1] looked at the demons below them. ”If my calculations are correct, all these demons will die within a month, and the Blood Flame will appear then.”

”I think so too.” Wang Yin then sighed softly. ”Even though many of these demons are my old enemies, I feel sorry for them having to die because of this phenomenon.”

”Life and death are predestined, and not everyone has the ability to change fate.” Wang Yin nodded in agreement with Zhang Fei [1], especially since she herself had already died once. ”Like you, I also died once, but I was luckier than you because the killer brought me back to life even though my identity became different. Since Iʼve experienced it once, I would rather not experience it again. I will strive hard to become strong, and I will defy fate.”

”Defy the fate, huh?” Wang Yin muttered to herself. ”If I could think like you, I would have left this realm long ago and searched for that mysterious person.”

”Your main mistake is that you are too clingy to your past, and the past always holds you back from moving forward.” Wang Yin did not refute Zhang Fei [1]. ”I know you donʼt want to be an undead demon like now, but you have already become one, so you must accept that reality and move on with your life. Unlike you, I accepted my changes from the first time, and I chose to embrace the reality, which eventually brought many changes in my life.”

”How can you accept reality so easily?”

”What can I do?” Zhang Fei [1] clenched his fists in front of him. ”Unlike you, who were born and lived as a cultivator in the past, I was born as an ordinary human without any power. Even if I wanted to mourn my death and change, I didnʼt have the power to change anything. Moreover, I had nothing to lose because my family abandoned me, and the only person who kept me moving forward was my grandmother. Without her, I would have probably given up on my life long ago. At that time, I realized that my death and the changes in my life could shape my future, so I chose to accept everything instead of mourning both. Since then, I have been through a lot; many beautiful and awful things have come and gone, all of which made me who I am now. Although there are many obstacles ahead, this life is too beautiful to miss, so I think you should leave your past behind. If you can do that, you will find many interesting things out there, and your life will no longer be as dull as it is now.”

After hearing that, Wang Yin fell into deep thought as her eyes moved to scan the entire area of the realm. A while later, she spoke to Zhang Fei [1]. ”There is almost nothing in this realm now, so I will leave, and I will look for the purpose of my life.”

”If you think that is best for you, you can do so.” Zhang Fei [1] grabbed her hand. ”You must keep in touch with me so I can help you if you encounter any trouble out there, and I will take you with me to the Paradise Realm in the future.”

Wang Yin smiled when she heard that. ”Donʼt worry, I will keep in touch with you.”

After that, Wang Yin returned to her palace, gave instructions to her undead subordinates, and subsequently left the Demon Purgatory Realm.

Morgana was quite surprised by Wang Yinʼs decision, but she was also happy that she finally had the courage to move forward in her life.

After she lived in the Demon Purgatory Realm for the past year, Morgana decided to leave that realm, and she brought Oz the First back to the Abyssal Realm.

Not only them, but the wolf demon, Alder, also decided to leave the realm. He told Zhang Fei [1] to take excellent care of Tasha, and he himself planned to return to the Blackthorn Abyss Realm to save his family.

Since Ju Yingzhi had fully recovered, Zhang Fei [1] decided to send her and Xin Yanluo to the training space, and they began their rigorous physical training. This way, only Wang Yinʼs subordinates and his subordinates from the Diyu and Netherworld Realms lived in the palace.

[Master, you were too focused on your cultivation, and you forgot your three gift boxes from the last three quests.]

”Open them, Mei.”

[Yes.]

[Obtained the Key to Fox Mysterious Realm. Grade: Unknown.]

[Obtained the Fox Spirit Orb. Grade: Unknown.]

[Obtained the Lightning Compass. Grade: Unknown.]

”Hmm?” Zhang Fei [1] momentarily raised an eyebrow. ”I definitely got the two fox items from quests in the golden foxʼs realm, and the last one from the quest got the lightning element.”

[Thatʼs right, Master.]

”Show their details, Mei.”

[The Key to Fox Mysterious Realm: According to legend, all fox races gathered and lived in a beautiful realm before they were scattered to all corners of the universe due to attacks by other mythical beasts. They lock their realm with a seal made from their origin bloodlines, and this key functions to open it.]

[The Fox Spirit Orb: This orb contains the essence of the first fox born in this universe, but it requires a special method to extract it.]

[The Lightning Compass: Originally crafted by the Ancient Lightning Dao Sect, this compass will lead its owner to the strongest lightning source in this universe, where the lightning veins of this universe are formed.]

Zhang Fei [1] was sure that the key and the orb were related to each other, so he didnʼt take them from the inventory, but he was confused about the first fox born in the universe. According to the will of the universe, the ten-tailed fox is a primordial beast, so he should be the first fox born in the universe.

Zhang Fei [1] then took out the lightning compass, which was purple with lightning flashes around it. He tried to inject his lightning element and elemental law into it, but it didnʼt show any reaction. ”I guess this compass will only be active in the Paradise Realm.”

[I think so too, Master. By the way, why donʼt you ask Zhe Wuming to send you to that place? If you meet the will of the universe, you might be able to get information about the fox mysterious realm.]

”I think itʼs useless, Mei. The mysterious realm and the orb are related to the first fox born in this universe, so Iʼm sure the location of that place is not in the three mortal realms but in the Paradise Realm.” Zhang Fei [1] then stored the lightning compass again. ”Instead of thinking about that, Iʼll go to the alchemy union. Huoyun Zhiyan and the others should have finished concocting the second batch of true foundation pills, and I can break through to the Quasi Divine Realm or even the Seven Divine Realm depending on the number of their pills.”

[Well, thatʼs true. Go there now and check on them, Master.]

.

.

.

A while later, Zhang Fei [1] had arrived at the Alchemy Union, and the three old alchemists handed over nine foundation pills to him. ”Oh? Unlike before, you managed to concoct three superior-grade pills, huh?”

”Yes, Master.” Huoyun Zhiyan then asked. ”Can we take a break first, Master? Weʼve been concocting pills for over a year, and we wonʼt be able to if you ask us to concoct a third batch.”

”Rest for a month, and I want you to concoct the third batch after that, especially since all my women need the pill.” Zhang Fei [1] immediately left the Alchemy Union and went elsewhere.

Huoyun Zhiyan released a sigh of relief. ”His cultivation speed is too terrifying! The last time he met us was half a year ago, and his cultivation was still at the 6-Star Heaven Realm at that time, but he has already reached the 2-Star Saint Realm now.”

”How do you think he did it?” Sun Jianming asked. ”Even if he could stabilize his cultivation with the pill, he needs so much Qi to break through sixteen stages, and it is impossible to achieve it in just six months.”

”Why should you care about him?” Xiu Hanyu asked in an angry tone, especially since he was still annoyed that Zhang Fei [1] had enslaved him and treated him as a slave. ”Iʼll go back to rest now before that bastard comes here again.”

Huoyun Zhiyan then answered his friend. ”I donʼt know how he managed to do all that, but since he was able to gather so much Qi in six months, I think he will break through to the Seven Divine Realms soon using our pills.”

”Thatʼs right.” Sun Jianming replied with a nod of approval. ”Letʼs go back; Iʼm really tired and want to rest.”

.

.

.

Zhang Fei [1] stood in front of the glass tube, thinking about the qi inside. ”Do you think the qi inside is enough for me to break through to the Quasi Divine Realm, Mei?”

[I donʼt think this is enough, Master. You already used up all the Yin Qi inside three months ago, and the addition in the past three months hasnʼt been much. If you absorb it all now, I think youʼll only reach the 6-Star Saint Realm, especially since the amount of Qi you need increases by fifty million with each level. Since the outside world is still calm, I think you can continue your seclusion for the next few months, and you can break through to the Seven Divine Realms when you come out again.]

Zhang Fei [1] nodded in agreement with that. ”What about my beast form?”

[You only need about five hundred million more beast essence to be able to evolve to eight tails, and you have all seven female mythical beasts by your side. By the way, you havenʼt done anything to Zhu Shanniang in the past six months, so I think itʼs time, and your evolution will happen faster.]

Zhang Fei [1] let out a soft sigh after Mei mentioned Zhu Shanniang. He could have forced the female vermilion bird to serve him a long time ago, but he preferred to wait for her to willingly submit herself to him. However, her mental strength was extraordinary, and she was able to hold herself back for the past six months, even though she had sex with Huli Xianniang in front of her too many times.

Zhang Fei [1] then thought about his demon rank and spoke. ”Ever since I registered them in my partner list, Xia Qianqianʼs and the othersʼ cultivation has improved significantly. Unfortunately, their demon rank is still too low now, so I think Iʼll bring them back to the Demon Purgatory Realm.”

[Unfortunately, this tube can only absorb Qi but not demon essence, Master. If this can also absorb demon essence, you can turn your ten female prisoners into demons, and they will give you a lot of demon essence.]

”Haha.” Zhang Fei [1] laughed at that. ”Why are you greedier than me, Mei? Of course, I hope for that too, but nothing is perfect in this world, and not everything can be achieved easily. Although I couldnʼt get the demon essence from them, I have gained a lot of Qi from them, so I am quite satisfied with that. Sigh! I will wait until the amount of Qi in the tube is enough to break through to the Seven Divine Realms, so I wonʼt waste too much time and break through to that stage all at once.”

.

.

.

Zhang Fei [1] had brought all his partners to the Demon Purgatory Realm, but the situation in the realm suddenly changed drastically, and the temperature increased significantly.

”Brother! Over there!” Xia Qianqian exclaimed as she pointed at a faint object in the sky.

”The Blood Flame is starting to appear.” Zhang Fei [1] then opened the map, and the number of demons in the realm decreased significantly, making the flame slowly become clearer. ”You guys can go to our room now, and I will join you soon.”

Zhang Fei [1] then flew before the Blood Flame, but he felt a surge within him. His blood was boiling, and he felt a strong sense of bloodlust.

[Master, you better be careful in absorbing this Blood Flame, or your bloodlust will go out of control.] Mei warned him.

”If I canʼt control my bloodlust, I will go to another demon realm to vent it.” After Zhang Fei [1] waited for some time, the Blood Flame was already very clear before him. He grabbed the flame, which made his bloodlust skyrocket. ”Damn it!”
