Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 752: Two Techniques

Yan Liebao stood there in a daze as he watched the three people in front of him with a serious look. No matter how hard he tried to chase Zhang Fei, he never managed to catch up to him. Worse still, he could never escape Qing Yi and Zhao Ziqinʼs pursuit, and the two women could keep up with him without having to use their wind elements.

Yan Dashan and the Yan Clan members were deeply shocked when Yan Liebao conceded defeat in a speed race against three people from the younger generation, particularly considering that their cultivation was still in the Earth Realm. If they can catch up to their leader while weak, no one will be able to catch them once they reach their level.

Even though the people from the Yan Clan werenʼt the fastest in the upper realms, their speed was still one of the best there, yet three young cultivators from the middle realms could defeat them in terms of speed.

After some time, Yan Liebao released a heavy sigh and asked Zhang Fei. ”Your previous speed wasnʼt your maximum speed, right, kid?”

”Not yet.” Zhang Fei replied with a shake of his head. ”Honestly, my previous speed was still half of my actual speed, Senior Yan.”

”Are you kidding us? Was your previous speed really only half of your actual speed?” Yan Dashan asked with an incredulous look.

The people of the Yan Clan also thought Zhang Fei was bragging, especially since his previous speed was already too fast. If he could move even faster than that, it would mean that he was the fastest cultivator in the upper realms.

”Hmm?” Yan Liebao and the others were shocked as soon as Zhang Fei used his teleportation ability, and he moved from one place to another in an instant until their eyes couldnʼt follow him. ʼThis brat isnʼt bragging! His speed is truly incredible!ʼ

Zhang Fei immediately returned to his spot again. ”What do you all think, seniors?”

”Marvelous!” Yang Dashan and the others nodded in agreement with Yan Liebao. ”Why donʼt you teach your two wives your movement techniques? If they learn them, their speed will be on par with yours, and you wonʼt have to worry about finding other techniques for them, right?”

”Youʼre right about that, Senior Yan.” Zhang Fei replied with a nod. ”Unfortunately, I canʼt teach them my previous technique because it comes from my bloodline, so Iʼm the only one who can use it, and my other techniques require a greater physique. Qing Yi and Zhao Ziqin are indeed body cultivators like me, but their physical strength is not even half of mine, and they still need a long time to learn my techniques. Therefore, I want to find speed techniques that suit their current physical strength, and Grandpa Hong told me that your Yan Clan is one of the best in speed, so I hope to get some techniques for them.”

Yan Liebao nodded in understanding. ”In speed, my Yan Clan is only the third fastest in the upper realms, and the other two clans are much faster than us. The Ying Clan is the second fastest, and Ying Niao is their fastest cultivator. Meanwhile, the fastest clan is the Lei Clan because one of them can combine the wind and lightning elements at once, and their fastest cultivator is Lei Xuanfeng.”

”Combining the wind and lightning elements, huh?” Zhang Fei muttered to himself.

Yan Liebao nodded. ”Wind is fast, but a lightning strike is much faster, right?”

”According to some people, lightning can travel about 185 miles per second, and wind can also reach hundreds of miles, but it takes several hours.” Everyone present seemed confused by Zhang Feiʼs muttering. ”But in reality, the fastest element is the light element, and lightningʼs speed can never match it.”

”Light?”

”Haha.” Zhang Fei laughed awkwardly at their confused expressions. ”I donʼt know how to explain it to you, but the people in my home realm use devices similar to those in the Xianjin Realm to measure the speed of each element. According to them, lightning is not as fast as sound, but sound is still far behind light, so light is the fastest.”

Yan Liebao looked at Zhang Fei as he stroked his beard. ”The world of cultivation is too mysterious, and the Xianjin Realm is the most advanced realm in this universe. I donʼt know how the people in your home realm could have devices similar to theirs, but they might be right about the elements. However, I have never met a light cultivator who has such high speed before, and it is usually only used for healing.”

”Well, thatʼs true.” Zhang Fei fell into contemplation after that, and he became increasingly impatient about retrieving the lower-grade lightning elemental speed from the Cyanwood Mountain. ”Can you teach your speed techniques to my two wives, Senior Yan?”

”Usually, only our clan members are eligible to learn our speed techniques, but my granddaughter has chosen you as her future husband, which means you will be part of our clan soon. Since these two little girls are your wives, I will give them each one of the techniques that suits them best.” Yan Liebao immediately walked in front of them and touched both womenʼs foreheads, imparting to each of them one technique. ”The Nine Windstride and the Gale Phantom Steps are both celestial-grade techniques, but their characteristics are different. One utilizes the surrounding air to accelerate our speed, and the other requires us to generate wind currents around our bodies, making movements swift and elusive. Based on my previous observations, the Nine Windstride is more suitable for Zhao Ziqin, and the Gale Phantom Steps is for Qing Yi.”

”Thank you, Senior Yan.” Zhao Ziqin and Qing Yi expressed their gratitude to Yan Liebao by cupping their hands.

Yan Liebao smiled and rubbed their heads. ”You two have to study them seriously, and I want to see the results at our next meeting.”

”Yes, Senior Yan.”

Yan Liebao then looked at Zhang Fei. ”If you want to learn both, you can ask these two little girls to share them with you. However, I doubt that they will be of any use to you, especially since your movement techniques are better than both of them.”

”Thereʼs no harm if I learn more techniques, right, Senior Yan?” Yan Liebao nodded to Zhang Fei. ”In that case, Iʼll send them to my training ground so they can start learning both techniques right away.”

”Oh?” Yan Liebao was surprised when Zhang Fei opened the portal to the training space. However, he also felt strange about it, especially since he didnʼt have space or void elements.

After Zhao Ziqin and Qing Yi disappeared, Zhang Fei asked them. ”Shall we talk inside?”

Hong Quan immediately led them all to the main hall of the Hong Clan, but Yang Dashan of the people of the Yan Clan kept his eyes on Zhang Fei. They were not only curious about his abilities, but they were also curious about how he could win Hong Xinxinʼs heart due to their huge age difference.

After they talked for a few hours, Zhang Fei decided to return to the training space, as he was impatient to reach the Heaven Realm.

Once Zhang Fei left, Yan Leibao immediately asked his granddaughter to accompany him on a walk together, especially since he still had many questions about Zhang Fei. ”How did you meet such a young monster, Xinʼer? Heʼs only 20 years old, but heʼs already that strong and fast, and heʼll probably surpass the Nameless One after he cultivates for hundreds or even thousands of years.”

”Grandpa, I donʼt think it will take him that long to surpass the Nameless One, and Iʼm sure he will succeed in doing it much faster than everyoneʼs expectations.” Yan Leibao was amazed by Hong Xinxinʼs confidence in Zhang Fei. ”In fact, he cultivated for less than a year, Grandpa.”

”Are you serious about that?” Yan Liebao asked with wide eyes.

”Yes.” Hong Xinxin nodded at him. ”Zhang Fei is a dual cultivator, and the number of women by his side cannot be compared to anyone else in this universe, so his cultivation speed is extremely frightening. However, he does not only focus on his cultivation, and he also continues to improve himself in various aspects.”

”Tell me everything.” Hong Xinxin immediately told Yan Liebao about Zhang Fei as a body cultivator, soul cultivator, alchemist, blacksmith, array master, and more. ”As expected, that kid is truly a monster, and heʼs the only cultivator I know who can learn all of that at once, so itʼs not surprising that Hun Di is willing to accept him as his disciple. Does he love you, Xinʼer?”

”Yes.” Hong Xinxin answered confidently. ”At first, I had no interest in him, and our relationship occurred due to unexpected circumstances. In fact, I was angry with him because he lied to me, especially since he initially disguised himself as a 10-year-old kid. Not only did he fool me, but he also fooled Sister Qianying and so many other people. The first person to know his true identity was Murong Mengying because of her eye techniques, and Senior Hun Di found out after her.”

”What was his reason for doing that?” Hong Xinxin immediately explained to Yan Leibao about Zhang Fei, Shang Huaqiang, the Sky Jade Realm, and the Netherworld Realm. ”So he disguised himself as a 10-year-old kid to destroy the Shang Clan, right?”

”Thatʼs right, Grandpa.” Hong Xinxin replied with a nod. ”I was hesitant to accept Zhang Fei at first, but Iʼve met his family and talked to them, especially his grandmother. Zhang Chen is much younger than us, but I can tell she is a wise woman, and she is wiser than many senior cultivators. She told me a lot about him, from him being an ordinary human to him becoming a cultivator, and she also told me about his relationships with all his women. Even though he had so many women, he wholeheartedly loved them. Shang Huaqiang caused some of his to suffer, so he decided to disguise himself as a kid and infiltrate the Shang clan by himself. Therefore, I decided to accept him, and I believe I will never regret my decision.”

”If someone else were to infiltrate the Shang Clan alone with his or her cultivation still in the ten mortal realms, I would consider that person an idiot, and his or her stupidity knows no bounds.” Hong Xinxin laughed hearing that from her grandfather. ”I still donʼt know Zhang Fei well, but I can see that he is not stupid, and your story about him fooling everyone in the Wasteland Realm is one of the proofs. His expression does show arrogance, but he has the abilities to support his arrogance. Moreover, I can still feel his killing intent and bloodlust even though he has suppressed both of them; both of them are truly powerful, so I am sure that he has killed countless people.”

”Grandpa, I watched him kill hundreds of thousands of people in one battle, and he already killed too many before that.” Yan Liebai turned to Hong Xinxin, who immediately shared her memories of when she followed Zhang Fei to the Tian Realm. ”Watch them first, and you will understand his horror.”

For several minutes, Yan Liebai watched all the events in the Tian Realm from the first floor to the top. ”Youʼre right, that kid is too scary. His expression didnʼt change, even though he killed so many people in one go. Although all his wives are still less experienced when compared to him, I can see that they are starting to follow in his footsteps, and they might become as scary as him. How can he have darkness and light elements at the same time?”

”Grandpa, I want to tell you the truth about Zhang Feiʼs true identity, but I think itʼs better if I keep it to myself because his identity is too complicated, and people will definitely hunt him down if his identity is leaked to the public.” Yan Liebao narrowed his eyes at Hong Xinxin, but she had no intention of telling him the truth. ”The most important thing is that he is not a heretic cultivator, and he only kills people who threaten the safety of him and those closest to him.”

Yan Liebai let out a heavy sigh. ”I hope youʼre right, Xinʼer. However, you should often remind Zhang Fei not to kill too often, especially when itʼs not necessary. Heretic cultivators are born not only because of their rotten hearts, but some of them become heretics because of their habit of killing. Killing is too addictive for many people, and they cannot stop killing others because of their addiction, which eventually turns them into heretics. Moreover, killing will accumulate our bad karma, and Zhang Fei will face powerful lightning tribulations if he continues to increase his bad karma, so you must remind him of that often.

”I understand, Grandpa. I will definitely remind Zhang Fei often.”

Yan Liebai nodded. ”Letʼs go back; I want to talk to Old Hong about some important matters.”

Imperceptibly, another week passed, and Yan Liebao took the members of his Yan Clan to leave the Hong Clan. Hong Quan and his clan members were gathered in the main hall, discussing something serious with his family. ”I just got information that Xi Hongyan has successfully united the western region, so she and her Xi Clan are their leaders now.”

”Xi Hongyanʼs action was so fast, and she managed to do it in just a month. Did they destroy the Xing and Fang clans?”

”No.” Hong Quan shook his head at his wife. ”At first, Xi Hongyan only sent Xi Zhenyang and Xi Xiuling to subdue them, but both of them repeatedly failed to subdue the two clans. Therefore, he personally intervened and forced them to submit, which they could not refuse.”

Hong Chong then spoke. ”This way, there are four groups in our realm now: our group, the Shang Clanʼs group, Xi Hongyanʼs group, and the Huo Clanʼs group.”

”No one dares to disturb the Huo and Niu clans, especially since they have the support of Tian Shuixiang and Lin Jingxia. The Shang and Xi clans also wonʼt dare to openly attack us, and we donʼt need to start trouble with them first.” Hong Quan then asked Hong Xinxin. ”What about Zhang Fei? When will you bring him to meet Jin Ruyue? If we can get the support of the Jin Clan, our group will be more solid.”

”Zhang Fei is in the process of breaking through to the 6-Star Earth Realm, but he still has other matters to attend to, so I will bring him to see Jin Ruyue after his matters are finished.” Hong Quan and the others looked at Hong Xinxin with questioning gazes. ”Sister Qianying just told me that Shang Chongyun and the others are almost at the Netherworld Realm, and I have already told her about it, so she will go there first after her breakthrough is complete.”

”What is Zhang Feiʼs plan for Shang Chongyun and the others?”

Hong Xinxin shook her head at them. ”Zhang Fei has already prepared some people in that realm, but I still donʼt know his true plan for them, so we can only wait for him to finish breaking through.”

[Congratulations! Your cultivation broke through to the 6-Star Earth Realm.]

As usual, Lei Que, the thunderbird, accompanied Zhang Fei [5] in his breakthrough process, and the two of them immediately entered the black sky above them.

Meanwhile, Duan Zhao and his four disciples stood below with solemn expressions, especially since Zhang Fei [5]ʼs lightning tribulations continued to grow stronger.

”Do you think he will succeed, master?” Gang Zhishou asked with a worried expression.

Duan Zhao nodded in response. ”Zhang Fei [5] has undergone several lightning tribulations, and his expression is so calm even though his lightning tribulation is so powerful, so I am sure he will succeed.”
