2430 Stuck at the Heavenly Tribulation’s BUG

In the realm of the Eighth Stage Profound Sage’s Heavenly Tribulation, seizing the moment before the heavenly tribulation descended, Song Shuhang was sharpening his skills.

At this juncture, Song Shuhang wore a clever thorned crown on his head which was designed to enhance his learning abilities. The sharp thorns of the crown pricked against Song Shuhang’s resilient skull and left a faint white mark on his forehead. But that was the extent of it.

Even the Thorned Crown, a divine tool aimed at causing pain to its wearer, could only inflict minimal discomfort on Song Shuhang.

Under the influence of the Thorned Crown, Song Shuhang held an ancient language book in his hands and was diligently studying the ancient language under the guidance of Pavilion Master Chu. Proficiency in the ancient language was a prerequisite for every Eighth Stage Profound Sage. Even if they couldn’t speak it fluently, they needed to read and understand it.

As he was on the verge of ascending to the Eighth Stage Realm, Song Shuhang decided to learn a few more ancient languages, just in case. Who knew if the last-minute language he picked up would hold the key to success in the upcoming examination?

Additionally, he noticed another detail.

He observed that the projection of the Scholarly Holy Ape above his head had a similar effect to the Thorned Crown in enhancing his learning ability.

Song Shuhang speculated that this might be due to the Scholarly Indestructible Body of the Buddha.

As a body-strengthening technique personally developed by the Scholarly Sage, it made sense that the Scholarly Indestructible Body of the Buddha could improve learning capabilities while fortifying the physique.

Just as Song Shuhang was deeply engrossed in his studies, the voice of Senior White Two rang out in his ears.

The Heavenly Tribulation Realm was about to recover.

Song Shuhang swiftly put away the ancient language book in his hand and leaped to his feet. However, he had forgotten to remove the Thorned Crown. It was inconsequential as the crown didn’t cause any pain or discomfort when worn; it was practically imperceptible.

“Senior White Two mentioned that the heavenly tribulation is about to strike! Everyone, stay alert!” Song Shuhang called out loudly to rally his comrades.

A pre-battle shout could boost morale and increase the odds of success.

“Wuwuwu~” The artifact spirit fairy on the Defiant Whale Warrior’s gauntlet pouted and whimpered.

The Holy Apes above their heads once again pounded their chests like gorillas.

The virtuous lamia adjusted her empress dragon robe. Song Shuhang’s tribulation was a crucial task for her. In addition to providing support and organizing the defense, she was responsible for sealing the lightning tribulation discharged by Song Shuhang and storing it in her inventory to augment her ingredient supplies.

Eighth Stage Profound Sage lightning tribulations were exceptionally rare. Apart from Song Shuhang himself, acquiring them through other means was challenging.

In previous tribulations, due to them being ‘group tribulations,’ the heavenly tribulations had mutated, preventing the collection of lightning tribulations.

This time, it was a rare one-on-one showdown between Song Shuhang and the Eighth Stage Realm’s heavenly tribulation.

It was an opportunity too valuable to miss.

Rumble…

In the Profound Sage Tribulation Space, the celestial lightning continued to rumble, and the tribulation clouds gathered.

However, the heavenly lightning had yet to strike.

Song Shuhang furrowed his brows. Didn’t Senior White Two mention that the heavenly tribulation was imminent? The prolonged delay was sapping their morale.

After some more waiting, Song Shuhang couldn’t help but send another message to Senior White Two: “Senior White, the heavenly lightning in my Heavenly Tribulation Realm still hasn’t descended!”

“The heavenly tribulation hasn’t started yet? Odd, the fat ball on my end has already regained consciousness and even broke free from the seal. It engaged me with its usual irritable demeanor. In other words, the ‘sky’ corresponding to the fat ball should have been successfully restarted, right? This is peculiar,” Senior White Two promptly replied.

Could it be that when Song Shuhang ascended to the Eighth Stage Profound Sage Realm during the Wielder of the Will’s demise, he got stuck in a BUG state?

“It’s possible that your heavenly tribulation has a BUG. Wait a bit longer. If your heavenly tribulation remains unchanged, you can try something based on your own judgment. I’ll deal with the fat ball first and contact you afterward,” Senior White Two added.

Song Shuhang raised his gaze to the sky.

A BUG in the Heavenly Tribulation… was undoubtedly bizarre, but for some reason, he found it easy to accept. Perhaps he had grown accustomed to the quirks of the heavenly tribulation?

After all, in theory, the group tribulation transcendence he experienced before was essentially a BUG. Several cultivators, clearly not Profound Sages, were pulled into the Profound Sage Space when the heavenly tribulation’s strength reached the Profound Sage level. After transcending the tribulation, they received the full Profound Sage treatment: Sage Seals, Sage Names, and Profound Sage Speeches.

If not for the Wielder of the Will’s imperfection, a regular Wielder of the Will would have patched this loophole after Song Shuhang’s initial divinity speech. Song Shuhang wouldn’t have had the opportunity to display his divinity repeatedly.

“Test it with your own judgment?” Song Shuhang mused, staring at the sea of lightning. “What’s your suggestion, Pavilion Master Chu?”

“What do you have in mind?” Pavilion Master Chu inquired, intrigued.

Song Shuhang sighed and responded, “Senior White Two mentioned that there might be a BUG in my heavenly tribulation. Although it’s a rare occurrence for me to face the Eighth Stage heavenly tribulation alone, something seems to have gone awry. Senior White Two suggested that if the Heavenly Tribulation Realm hasn’t changed, I can experiment based on my own intuition. I’ll give it a shot, but I hope to hear your advice.”

“If I were to rely solely on my instincts… well, you’d probably end up making a reckless decision,” Pavilion Master Chu warned.

“Come on, Pavilion Master Chu, I’m not Senior Thrice Reckless,” Song Shuhang chuckled. “But there was that one vaguely memorable experience…”

Pavilion Master Chu’s hair twitched slightly.

Unbeknownst to her, Song Shuhang seemed to have matured considerably. It left her feeling somewhat disconcerted.

“Although we’re not sure what kind of BUG has surfaced in the Heavenly Tribulation Realm, we can’t remain here indefinitely,” Song Shuhang stated with determination. Time was precious, and he couldn’t afford to squander it in the Heavenly Tribulation Realm.

Pavilion Master Chu was momentarily taken aback. “Alright, tell me your thoughts, and I’ll provide some guidance.”

“Let’s explore three approaches. First, we can probe the Eighth Stage heavenly tribulation by examining the tribulation clouds,” Song Shuhang proposed while pointing at the accumulating tribulation clouds in the sky.

“What are you planning to do with the tribulation clouds?” Pavilion Master Chu inquired.

“Considering that Heavenly Lightning Tribulation, Inner Demon Tribulation, and various attribute heavenly tribulations can all be transformed into ingredients, why not tribulation clouds? Compared to the pure energy form of heavenly tribulation, the tribulation cloud has a physical presence, making it more suitable for use as an ingredient,” Song Shuhang explained, gesturing at the tribulation clouds.

“If we can obtain Tribulation Cloud Cuisine recipes, that would be even better. However, I can always study it,” he added.

“On another note, I’d like to investigate whether I can split myself into two, similar to what Senior White did,” Song Shuhang touched his abdomen while contemplating where to make the cut.
