Mr. Law's Official Announcement: He is a Wife-Doting Fanatic!

The two walked away along the steps, and upon turning back, the white-haired old abbot had already disappeared from sight.

Cecilia Vaughn pursed her lips and decisively pulled out the Purple Moon Charm from around her neck, noticing the chain shimmering under the sunlight with a radiant glow, quite beautiful.

”Just a piece of stone with unknown origin, what kind of fortune or misfortune could it bring? Isn’t this just a scare tactic?”

”Adrian, what do you think?”

Cecilia glanced at Adrian Law only to see the man’s handsome brows tightly furrowed, seemingly still recalling the previous events, completely oblivious to what she had said.

”Adrian, what’s wrong?”

Cecilia’s heart skipped a beat, promptly tugging on Adrian’s sleeve, observing his expression return to normal, finally easing the stone in her heart.

—— After all, the Purple Moon Charm was a relic passed to Adrian Law from his mother Susan Roswell before she passed, even though the chain’s origin was unknown, and it was unclear what kind of jade the pendant was made of, its significance was extraordinary, transcending all worldly monetary value.

It’s said that objects remind one of people, and the old monk’s repeated mentions of being a fortuitous encounter with Susan Roswell inevitably made Adrian think of his mother who passed away prematurely.

...

Adrian pursed his lips despondently, his long phoenix eyes glimmering, and finally showed a comforting smile to Cecilia Vaughn.

”Cecilia, I’m fine.”

”Are you... thinking of your mother...”

Cecilia cautiously tugged on Adrian’s sleeve again, noticing the rare melancholy between his brows, prompting her thoughts towards her own mother, Wendy Sutton.

Adrian nodded slightly, not denying it.

”Yes...”

Cecilia pondered for a moment, then immediately suggested, ”Adrian, after the opening ceremony later, let’s go to the front yard and light incense for our mothers. They both believed in this, and I think it’s a kind of spiritual solace too.”

”Sure, but one incense stick might not suffice, let’s invite the temple’s monks to perform a rite then.”

Adrian nodded, then lowered his head, pinched Cecilia’s nose affectionately.

”I know you don’t believe in it, neither do I, let’s just reminisce the departed mothers.”

”Hmm, I understand.”

...

The two had detailed their plan and went straight to the small yard at the easternmost part of the back mountain.

Although Director Chapman intended to act covertly, the courtyard was already set up with banners and incense prepared for the opening ceremony.

For such a small yard, quite a crowd had gathered.

Kane Hale, the actor for the male lead role of Lucas Morrison, was among the attendees. Cecilia Vaughn had only seen him on TV or posters before, and the clearest impression in her mind was no more than the title of triple Golden Emperor, a renown for outstanding acting skills. At this moment, seeing Kane’s face truly amazed her for a second.

However, Cecilia Vaughn, having long been entranced by Adrian Law’s looks, not to mention Zion Prescott and Felix Lockwood’s friendship, and her previous involvement with her ex, the scoundrel Tyson Law, all of whom excelled in appearance.

Thus, when faced with these top-notch handsome men in the entertainment industry, Cecilia possessed considerable resistance, and almost immediately, shifted her attention to Zion Prescott and Felix Lockwood.

”Doctor Prescott, Felix, you guys arrived earlier than Adrian and I. Are you that afraid of losing the investment?”

Cecilia teasingly joked, Zion Prescott nodded lightly, his handsome eyes beneath golden framed glasses exuding elegance.

”You’re teasing, sis.”

After yesterday’s ordeal with Rosalind White and relentless calls, Felix now seemed a bit jumpy around Cecilia Vaughn and Adrian Law.

”Hello, big brother and sister-in-law.”

...

”Felix, did you not sleep well last night?”

Seeing Felix, usually gallant and charming, with noticeable dark circles under his eyes, Adrian couldn’t help but inquire softly.

Zion Prescott adjusted his golden glasses, revealing a slight, unapologetic smirk from his thin lips.

”Brother, didn’t you hear? Last night Rosalind White had a crisis, harassing Felix quite a bit.”

”He was sipping wine solo at the night venue, barely started anything before getting scared by the crying visit of Rosalind White, making him hastily flee...”

...

”You say I fled in panic, but would I fear that fake damsel in distress!”

Felix’s typically carefree demeanor flushed a bit red, now being mercilessly teased by a friend, truly losing face.

”Zion Prescott, shut up!”

Although the root of trouble came from Adrian Law and Cecilia Vaughn, Felix was still resentful being exposed so ruthlessly by Zion, glaring at him fiercely.

His reputation, ruined by those mischievous mates!

...

Listening to their noise, Kane Hale, the movie’s male lead, glanced over with curiosity.

Nonetheless, Kane Hale, known for his exceptional composure, understood Adrian Law and others represented the top tier in the new generation of luxury empires, befriending one meant future assurance in the entertainment industry.

Yet, he never harbored intent to ingratiate himself; earning the triple Golden Emperor title signified remarkable steadiness.

With outsiders watching, Zion Prescott calmly shifted the conversation topic.

As they were all chatting cheerfully, a series of hurried footsteps sounded nearby.

Director Chapman’s powerful voice resonated across the space.

”Miss Vaughn, Young Master Law, Mr. Prescott, Mr. Lockwood, you all arrived? I assumed we’d be faster.”

Cecilia Vaughn immediately nodded at Director Chapman.

She deeply respected Director Chapman, after all, an esteemed director she adored, being fortunate enough to collaborate was a blessing, naturally avoiding a distant attitude, not purposely avoiding like with Kane Hale.

”Is everyone here?”

”Just waiting for the female lead, Miss Sinclair...”

An assistant mentioned quietly.

Director Chapman frowned slightly, recalling Claire Sinclair not being one prone to tardiness, quite the opposite due to her lack of experience, usually opting to arrive early.

Checking his watch, there were only ten minutes before the opening ceremony officially started.

Really strange.

...

Cecilia Vaughn also noted the absence of Claire Sinclair, whom she liked.

”Wouldn’t it be something if Claire overslept?”

Upon hearing the name, Zion Prescott, who had been smiling, suddenly tightened his lips, his gaze deepened.

A few seconds later, a pair of beautiful figures emerged from the courtyard gate.

It was Claire Sinclair and Jude Grant.

”Sorry, am I late?”

...

”Just in time! Did you plan to arrive to the minute!”

Director Chapman led a burst of laughter, unconcerned about Claire Sinclair’s relationship status as he wasn’t her manager.

Moreover, Director Chapman had previously seen Claire’s little boyfriend at gatherings, admiring her eye for selecting partners, as long as no scandal emerged, it was fine.

Claire’s thin skin was slightly embarrassed, suddenly sensing a very cold glare focused on her.

Stern, laden with menace.

The apology forming on her lips abruptly halted.
