Mr. Law's Official Announcement: He is a Wife-Doting Fanatic!

Fiona Vaughn’s face was pale as snow, her reddened eyelids clenched shut, with two lines of tears sliding down, making her look pitiful beyond words.

Tyson Law saw her collapse limply in his arms, her face so ghastly, and he immediately panicked.

”Fiona, Fiona, how are you feeling?”

Fiona Vaughn whimpered softly, her expression deathly pale as she clung onto Tyson Law’s arm.

”I feel terrible... go to Stellerton University... the Traditional Medicine Hospital, it’s the closest, register me under Dr. Warner, who always sees me...”

She spoke haltingly, but her voice wasn’t low at all, just enough for Chairman Law on the other end of the phone to hear.

Noticing her phone flashing nonstop in her pocket, Fiona bit down hard on her teeth and, while Tyson Law was distracted, quickly pressed to hang up the call. Then she instantly went limp again, boneless, against Tyson Law’s chest.

”Fiona... hang in there, I’ll take you to the Traditional Medicine Hospital right now...”

Fiona had fainted several times before; she had always been frail, and it got even worse after getting pregnant—sometimes she couldn’t even catch her breath. Tyson Law feared something might happen to her, so he quickly buckled her seatbelt.

He floored the gas pedal, driving as fast as he could.

...

Twenty minutes later, Tyson Law had already brought Fiona Vaughn to the emergency department in Stellerton, where her face was drained of any trace of color. She looked like a beautiful, soulless porcelain doll, lying silently on the hospital bed.

Tyson gazed at her, torn with worry, not knowing what to do for a moment.

He thought about how he still wanted Fiona to have an abortion, but looking at how fragile she was, if she really terminated the pregnancy, would it disastrously jeopardize her health as well...

Tyson dared not think further, but he simply couldn’t suppress the thought.

To abort the child, or not to...

If this child stayed, Tyson could almost see it: even if he managed to divorce Fiona, because of this child tying them together, he’d inevitably be entangled with her for the rest of his life.

Tyson gave a bitter laugh, half testing, half defeated, as he looked at the attending doctor by the bed.

”Doctor, how is my wife’s condition? If she has an abortion now, would it be dangerous?”

The attending physician, Dr. Warner, shook his head gravely.

”Second Young Master Law, the pregnancy isn’t too far along, but not too early either, and judging by Miss Fiona’s condition, this has definitely been a difficult pregnancy. If anything goes wrong, it could be fatal...”

”A tragedy that takes both lives—you wouldn’t want to see that, would you?”

The attending physician happened to be a fan of Fiona Vaughn; he’d treated her many times before, and taken numerous gifts from her and her father, so his bias was obvious.

Glancing at Fiona’s quiet, lovely face, he couldn’t help but use harsher words, hoping to dissuade Tyson Law from considering divorce.

He could see that this Second Young Master Law didn’t seem nearly as affectionate toward Fiona as he made himself out to be on social media.

...

Is it really impossible to abort this child?

Hearing this, Tyson Law stumbled back a step, gripping the wall, his face growing even more dejected.

As Tyson was caught in a whirlpool of conflicting feelings, a furious roar exploded by his ear.

”Ingrate! Who gave you permission to abort Fiona’s child?!”

Frank Law rushed in, stormy and menacing, his anger almost visible as it shot up around him.

Tyson, lost in thought, was startled when he suddenly saw his father’s furious face. His own expression dulled, at a loss for how to reply.

”Father...”

Seeing the tension between father and son, Dr. Warner quickly slipped out without a sound.

Family business among the city’s wealthy and powerful could get dangerous the more one knew.

Better to be invisible.

...

”Look at you! You’ve embarrassed the Law Family all the way to the hospital entrance!”

Frank Law, seeing the cautious look on the attending doctor’s face and that he was thoughtful enough to close the door as he left, let out a cold snort.

”Do you know how many years I’ve waited to hold this grandchild? Your elder brother has always been a disappointment, refusing to marry, and now he’s even brought a convict into the house—everything about him gives me headaches! And now you, copying him, letting yourself be bewitched by that homewrecker?”

”What curse is on our Law Family? Cecilia Vaughn is hardly some angel come down to earth, yet she has both my sons completely bewitched... If you like her type so much, I can find you a few more just like her! If nothing else, even Butler White’s daughter Rosalind is very pretty!”

Tyson knew Frank detested Cecilia, but hearing his father repeatedly call her a homewrecker still stabbed at his heart.

”Father, I want to divorce Fiona, and it’s not just because of Cecilia. Don’t talk about her like that...”

”Ha, if it’s not because of her, then who else? Don’t tell me you don’t feel a thing for that woman?”

Frank Law scoffed, his gaze heavy as it landed on Tyson.

”Ever since you returned from Isle of Whispers, the Law Family’s been a laughingstock. Now, do you know how many eyes are following you and Fiona?”

”If you let Fiona abort the baby now, where will that leave your wife’s health? And our Law Family’s reputation...”

Tyson’s handsome face was bloodless; he clutched at his hair in anguish.

”Father... I could divorce Fiona quietly, and no media would dare report it.”

Frank looked at him icily, his voice as chilling as frost.

”You think if you bribe everyone, no one will find out?”

”You’re a fool! All this trouble for a minor thing, you won’t even come home, and now you’re talking abortion and divorce—do you want the whole world to know your scandal?”

Tyson’s legs gave out and he collapsed onto the leather sofa in the VIP hospital suite, utterly defeated.

”What else can I do, then? I just... don’t love Fiona anymore...”

Frank grabbed Tyson by the collar, his eyes biting cold.

”What do you mean you don’t love her? How many marriages among the upper class aren’t arranged? No one relies on love to spend their days! Tyson, get real. If you like another woman, rent an apartment for her on the side, no one will care.”

”But if you rush to divorce and abort the child, that’s the greatest blunder! I will never allow it!”

No reliance on love for daily life?

Tyson’s eyes revealed struggle, confusion, and pain—an agonized mix.

He wanted to argue more, but Frank Law had already slammed the door and left.

Tyson glanced at Fiona lying on the hospital bed, eyes closed, breath faint as she whispered his name. The man clenched his fists, but in the end had no strength to let go.

Maybe, this really was his fate—like this, for life.

Pain swept through his entire body.

...

Cecilia Vaughn had no idea about the torment Tyson was going through; she was just browsing Weibo when she happened to see a fan’s candid photo outside Stellerton Naturopathic Hospital. Tyson Law was pictured carrying Fiona in his arms into the hospital, and most comments below were saying the rumors of marital discord had finally been disproved.

Seeing Fiona in the photo, eyes closed with tears streaming down her face, Cecilia let out a helpless laugh, nearly convinced the woman was just faking another fainting spell.

Of course, she had no time to expose her, nor any desire to comment.

Today, Director Chapman had posted the official cast photo for ”There are branches on the mountain”; only the male lead’s picture was released, while the female lead, Claire Sinclair, was such an unknown that the crew decided to keep her identity a secret.

Not long after, fans flooded the post, screaming about how handsome their idol was. Seeing the response, Director Chapman asked Cecilia to open a screenwriter-certified Weibo account to repost and boost the discussion.

It was actually for Cecilia’s own good.

But after thinking it over, Cecilia still decided not to reveal her real identity—instead, she registered a new Weibo account and reposted the male lead’s cast photo.
