Mr. Law's Official Announcement: He is a Wife-Doting Fanatic!

Wyatt Law received the Young Master’s message and was extremely surprised.

Although the Law Group also has entertainment businesses under its umbrella, Adrian Law has always been totally uninterested in them, let alone caring about directors of historical dramas.

Wyatt secretly gossiped in his head, thinking it must have something to do with Cecilia.

Unless it’s for the Young Madam, he really doesn’t believe the Young Master would take time to care about someone from the entertainment industry.

...

Starfall Bay.

Cecilia hung up Mona Summers’s call, still feeling a tad delighted inside.

Although Director Warner’s style is comedic web dramas, her own work being noticed is a kind of affirmation.

”There are branches on the mountain” was something she created in her second year in prison, using the pen name ”Seven Leaves”.

This comic tells the story of Blossom Vaughn, a modern doctor of traditional medicine, who suddenly time-travels and becomes the daughter of a criminal. Just as she wakes up, she almost gets exiled to the army as a military prostitute, but the heroine is extremely sharp-witted and escapes with intelligence.

After escaping, she picks up her modern profession again, disguises herself as a man under the name Third Miss Vaughn. With a silver needle in hand, she brings the dead back to life, heals the sick, and is respected as ”Third Master”. Later, she develops a bond with Lucas Morrison, the hostage prince from an enemy country.

The heroine wants to overturn a massacre case involving her family, while the hero wants to seize the throne. The two shouldn’t have feelings for each other, but they fall hopelessly in love—danger and intrigue at every turn...

In Cecilia’s latest serialized Chapter, the heroine’s identity is exposed, and the frivolous Crown Prince wants her as a concubine. Everyone thinks the male lead will come clean about his feelings and steal her away, and they’re all eagerly awaiting it.

Of course, only Cecilia, the ”stepmom” author, knows the heroine will first announce she’s joined The Path of Serenity as a priestess and swear before the court never to marry.

...

Cecilia uploaded the latest Chapter of the comic, and soon received comments from loyal fans.

—— ”Author, you’re so ruthless, this is too cruel.”

—— ”My poor Third Master... wuwuwu...”

There’s nothing but cries and laments in the new Chapter’s comments—so tragic, so miserable—but everyone pretty much suspects, this author is always a ”stepmom”, so there’s no way things’ll turn out so well.

...

Cecilia’s lips curved into a smile—if she told her young readers the ending was a tragedy, she’d probably get beaten to death, right?

—— As the plot develops, Lucas Morrison uses the heroine’s help to return to his own country. Ruthless in his methods, he plans to marry the Prime Minister’s daughter to gain political support.

The true emperor never shows weakness—he tries to trap the heroine with the position of Empress, thinking he’s giving her the best, but she’s heartbroken and leaves for foreign lands, never to meet again.

Back when she was still in prison, after being betrayed by Tyson Law, Cecilia was wounded by love, so all her plot settings were particularly cruel.

But for some reason, ever since being with Adrian Law, she suddenly feels the original plot is too heartless, and history has seen devoted emperors, after all.

Now the plot hasn’t reached the point where the two break up; should she change the ending so the leads become emperor and empress, ruling the world together?

Or, after clearing the family’s name, they could give up power and travel the world hand in hand?

...

Cecilia struggled to figure out the plot, and before falling asleep she groggily asked Adrian a question.

”Adrian, if you were an ancient emperor, able to have thousands of beauties, would you be willing to give up the throne and all the other girls for the one you love?”

Adrian’s long, narrow phoenix eyes focused intently on the girl; the moonlight angled in from outside the window, softening the harsh outlines of his face.

”Cecilia, I don’t know about others, but for me, from the vast rivers only one cup is enough.”

”So-called imperial power—the heights can be lonely. I’d much rather have the person I love by my side. Cecilia, as long as that person is you, I would give up everything and take you away, without hesitation.”

Cecilia’s eyelashes trembled; it felt as if a warm stream flowed through her heart, sweet and gentle.

Suddenly, everything made sense to her—when she was in prison, she had been prejudiced against men and unfair to the comic’s male lead.

Even if you possess endless lands and power, even if you wake holding the world and sleep with beauties, without someone you love beside you, it’s nothing but endless loneliness.

Maybe, she should let the hero and heroine roam the world freely instead.

...

Cecilia resolved her internal conflict and gave a sweet, radiant smile.

”Adrian, you really are my muse—I know how I want to write the story now...”

Adrian affectionately lowered his head and planted a soft kiss on the girl’s eyelashes, gentle as a dragonfly, reverent and pampering.

”You little dummy, stop overthinking. Be good and go to sleep.”

”Mm-hmm, good night.”

...

In the dark of night, Cecilia is already asleep, while Adrian is browsing information Wyatt sent him about every historical drama director in Veridia.

His lips pressed slightly together, and finally, a director named Chapman caught his eye.

Judging from his résumé, this person seems pretty decent.

If he adapted Cecilia’s script, she would probably be very happy, right?

Adrian pondered, then sent another message to Wyatt.

—— ”Invite Director Chapman to Law Headquarters. Arrange a meeting as soon as possible.”

...

In the blink of an eye it’s Saturday. Cecilia’s swimming lessons are going smoothly, and the Alden Family, just as Adrian expected, obediently transferred three million over.

Chloe Alden, though, probably felt utterly humiliated and didn’t show up at Stellerton University all week, claiming to be sick.

Cecilia snickered inwardly—after all, with three million, her pockets suddenly felt a lot fuller. Taking advantage of the weekend, she planned to go shopping for some paints and tools for her art.

Next week the art department has a lakeside sketching event; the professors value her highly and want her to join. Cecilia figured it’d spark inspiration so she agreed, and Bella Prescott also signed up.

Wandering through the bustling shopping street, Cecilia finished buying her supplies, feeling relaxed. She simply bought a cup of milk tea and strolled aimlessly.

...

As she walked, she noticed a wedding dress shop, exquisitely decorated, in her line of sight.

Outside was a curved wisteria trellis, pure white carpeting laid out, and two adorable teddy bears nestled in front of the flowers, paired together—a cozy, heartwarming scene.

The interior was even more mesmerizing: rows of flowing silk wedding gowns, beside them pristine veils and dewy lilies.

So beautiful. For a moment, Cecilia was dazzled, and couldn’t help but step inside.

—— In this world, probably no girl can resist the allure of wedding dresses.

Her mind even flashed back to Grandma Joan Sinclair asking when she’d have her wedding.

Sadly, she’d already decided to marry in secret, so it was unlikely she and Adrian would ever have a ceremony.

Cecilia gazed at the most gorgeous white gown, envy flickering in her almond eyes.

...

Just then, two stunning figures walked down from the bridal shop’s second floor.

Cecilia froze abruptly.

It was Fiona Vaughn and Chloe Alden...

The shop assistant who had been looking down at her phone instantly put on a smile and greeted them warmly.

”Miss Fiona, all our wedding dresses are from Caelus’s top designers. The custom styles are limited editions. You just toured the second floor as well—did you see anything you like?”
