Mr. Law's Official Announcement: He is a Wife-Doting Fanatic!

Adrian Law smiled warmly, his every move reflecting the elegance and grace of a noble young man.

”Grandma, try this soup. It’s made with the freshest shellfish from the market, and I’ve added some shrimp and tofu. I hope it suits your taste.”

”Alright, I’ll give it a try.”

...

Joan Sinclair took a light sip. The taste of the clam tofu soup was mild yet flavorful, and the soft, pleasant tofu made it unexpectedly delicious.

”It’s really good! Adrian, I think your culinary skills are better than those so-called five-star chefs out there!”

Joan’s eyes lit up as she genuinely praised him.

Cecilia Vaughn let out a sigh of relief upon hearing this.

She knew it; there was no one Adrian Law couldn’t impress.

Even her high-minded grandma had abandoned her prejudice, going from calling him ”the Law Family boy” to just Adrian.

...

Cecilia Vaughn seized the moment and quickly placed another dish in front of Joan Sinclair.

”Grandma, don’t just have the soup; try this sweet and sour pork. It’s sure to be to your taste!”

”Alright, I’ll have a taste.”

Joan smiled warmly. Even though she could tell these two young people were trying to please her, the sincerity was undeniable.

She took a bite of the sweet and sour pork, and indeed, the flavor was excellent.

Joan was completely won over by Adrian Law, and she couldn’t help but put down her chopsticks with a sigh.

”Adrian, you must have realized that when I first saw you, I was really worried that you were just playing with Cecilia.”

”But now, just from this table of dishes, I think you’re a reliable person.”

”It shows that you’ve been well-raised, possibly by good parents who taught you to respect women. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have such great culinary skills. In this area, my Cecilia can’t compare to you.”

...

Upon hearing Joan’s high praise, Adrian Law’s eyes slightly lifted, his elegant demeanor more prominent than ever.

”Grandma, you’re too kind. My mother taught me well. She often said that girls are meant to be cherished, and I hope to spoil Cecilia for a lifetime.”

”Good, good, good! Then Grandma can rest assured.”

With her heart settled, Joan Sinclair excitedly took Cecilia Vaughn’s hand and placed it in Adrian Law’s hand.

”Grandma is getting old and has no other desires, just wants to see you young people doing well.”

”Making lots of money isn’t important; living a comfortable life without worry is, and Grandma just hopes you stay healthy, safe, and happy.”

Cecilia Vaughn felt a pang of emotion, knowing that her grandma was thinking of her. There weren’t many people who truly cared about her in this world.

”Grandma, you have to be healthy and happy too, so that we, the younger generation, can be happy.”

”Don’t be too frugal; if you want something, tell your granddaughter, and Cecilia will buy it for you.”

...

”Grandma is old, but the thoughtfulness from you two makes granny very happy. Come, come, don’t just chat; let’s eat.”

Joan laughed merrily, and the three resumed eating, the atmosphere much more harmonious than the day before.

While glancing at the quiet young man dining beside, Joan noticed that Adrian Law’s table manners were impeccable.

Every move indicated excellent upbringing.

Joan silently awarded Adrian Law extra points, feeling increasingly satisfied with him.

But... there’s still one thing she couldn’t quite understand.

”Adrian, can I ask you why you and Cecilia were in such a hurry to get your marriage certificate, and you even skipped the wedding banquet?”

In Veridia, wedding ceremonies are still highly valued.

Joan looked puzzled and even glanced at Cecilia Vaughn’s flat abdomen with a curious gleam in her eyes.

”Is it because you and Cecilia are already expecting a baby, so you had a shotgun wedding?”

It’s not unheard of to get the certificate before the ceremony, but if that’s the case, Joan worried the Law Family might look down on Cecilia, as societal views on women are not always fair.

Cecilia Vaughn nearly spat out her food upon hearing this!

Why did Joan and Stacy Summers both think the same way!

...

Seeing Cecilia Vaughn’s blushing face, Joan Sinclair thought she’d guessed her secret.

”Cecilia, are you and Adrian really having a baby?”

”At your age, it’s normal... But you must take care of your health and avoid accidents like yesterday’s fall.”

Cecilia was embarrassed and awkward, her face turning red down to her neck.

”Grandma, don’t make wild guesses. I’m still a kid myself; I’m not ready to have a baby so soon.”

God knows, she hadn’t even consummated her marriage with Adrian yet, so how could anyone think she was expecting!

Joan couldn’t help but retort lightly.

”Old Zhang’s granddaughter next door is about your age and is preparing for a second child already.”

It’s no wonder elders think this way; there are just too many examples around them.

...

Joan even thought that Cecilia was just too shy to admit it, so she suspiciously looked towards Adrian Law, seeking confirmation.

And the sly man, having enjoyed his wife’s embarrassment enough, then calmly explained.

”Grandma, Cecilia and I fell in love at first sight, so we got our marriage certificate faster than most, not because we were expecting a child.”

Cecilia Vaughn saw him explaining only now, and she was resentful, pinching the man hard under the tablecloth.

This big jerk!

Don’t think she didn’t know he was just watching her make a fool of herself!

But Adrian Law showed no concern, fully indulging Cecilia’s little tantrum, his smile growing deeper.

...

Seeing Adrian Law deny it, Joan understood that she’d overthought.

Perhaps she was just out of touch with current trends, and maybe quick marriages were popular among young people now.

Luckily, her granddaughter had good judgment this time and found the right person.

”Adrian, when do you and Cecilia plan to have the wedding banquet? Grandma is just waiting to attend Cecilia’s wedding feast!”

Cecilia Vaughn’s expression stiffened.

Their marriage was almost secretive, hidden from so many people, and a grand public wedding was nearly impossible...

”Grandma, actually Adrian and I don’t plan to...”

She was about to say she didn’t care about superficial forms like a wedding, but Adrian Law suddenly pulled her hand.

”It’s like this, a wedding is a big event. I want to give Cecilia a deeply memorable wedding ceremony, which will need a lot of preparation, probably by next year. Once everything is set, you’ll be the first to know.”

Adrian spoke with sincerity, and Joan, trusting his words, smiled broadly.

”Good, good, good. Young people’s thinking is different from ours, so Grandma won’t worry about it.”

...

Cecilia Vaughn looked speechlessly at Adrian Law, realizing he could lie so blatantly without blinking, but as long as Grandma was placated, it was fine.

...

After the meal, the trio watched TV, and Cecilia Vaughn suddenly remembered something extremely important.

”Grandma, do you remember the share agreement that Grandpa left with you?”

Gregory Vaughn and Florence Warner had forcefully taken her shares in Radiant Group, and this grudge had to be avenged!
