Rebuilding the Immortal Cultivator Clan

Chapter 2311: Pending Revision_2

Because only in this way can he quickly resolve the karmic ties, without waiting for his next reincarnation!

After all, no one knows when this person’s next reincarnation will be; Li Zhirui does not want to waste too much time in the Primal Spirit Realm.

…

Time flies.

Very quickly, at the foot of the Ascension Mountain, three thousand children gathered to participate in the entrance examination, marking the start of the first test of this grand sect opening!

Buzz!

Almost simultaneously, the originally unremarkable stone path suddenly erupted with strong, dazzling Spirit Light, and the Immortal Ascension Array of the Profound Immortal Rank activated immediately.

“Those participating in the examination, hurry and enter the Formation! In a quarter of an hour, those still outside will be considered to have failed the test!”

A clear, resonant voice sounded at the mountain’s base, reaching the ears of every child.

Simultaneously, a gentle yet irresistible force descended from the sky, parting the crowd to create a path for the children to enter the Great Array.

Among the three thousand children who first participated in the test, most hesitated, worried they might fail and thus be unable to join the Tongtian Sect, preventing them from daring to enter the Formation.

Yet some children, with steely determination, stepped steadily inside!

Li Chenyang, whom Li Zhirui focused attention on, was not as decisive but didn’t think for too long before stepping into the Great Array.

Once inside, they found the Immortal Ascension Array seemed ordinary; the stone path ahead showed no change, as though all they needed to do was ascend the nine hundred and ninety-nine stone steps to pass the test and join the Tongtian Sect.

But such an apparently mundane Formation could accommodate three thousand to enter and participate simultaneously.

“It doesn’t seem as dangerous or difficult as imagined?” Everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

But as they stepped onto the second step, a tremendous pressure hit suddenly!

Caught unprepared, some children toppled directly, sprawled on the ground in embarrassing disarray.

Li Chenyang was bent under the pressure, but after a brief adjustment, he gritted his teeth and managed to straighten slowly and continued forward.

Every step increased the pressure slightly, slowing their pace and making progress increasingly tough.

But no one noticed that this pressure was always just at their limit — unless they voluntarily gave up, it wouldn’t crush them!

Even so, quite a few children couldn’t even cross one hundred steps and were directly transported out by the Formation.

And when anyone stepped onto the three hundredth step, they faced a new test.

A sudden white mist enveloped them, eliciting their strongest desires from their hearts.

Some dreamt of successful cultivation, where in the Illusionary Realm, they achieved Golden Immortal status and roamed the world; others yearned for endless wealth, immersed amidst gold and silver.

For some, it was lust, faced with three thousand beauties surrounding them, indulging night after night; for others, it was immortality, witnessing the stars shift and oceans transform.

This incredibly realistic Illusionary Realm was nearly indistinguishable for children with little worldly experience, leading them to drown within, unable to extricate themselves, eventually judged by the Formation to have failed and transported out.

If most children managed to struggle through the previous test, this Illusionary Realm eliminated nearly three sessions of children!

In an instant, the Formation’s Spirit Light flickered incessantly, throwing people out repeatedly.

This made the waiting children outside watch in fearful anxiety, afraid of suffering the same fate.

In a sense, this was an extra test for them.

How to maintain a stable Mental State amidst external influence.

Moving slowly, Li Chenyang reached the three hundredth step, and his deepest desire was surprisingly to possess great strength and a profound Realm.

But when the Immortal Ascension Array started affecting him, he quickly regained clarity, muttering, “I am still just a mortal and haven’t started cultivation.”

The Illusionary Realm shattered instantly!

He was hardly affected, breaking free from the Illusionary Realm within less than half a quarter.

This scene was observed in full by Li Zhirui, who was keeping an eye on Li Chenyang, and he murmured softly, “Such outstanding disposition as well?”

Upon entering the Great Array, Li Zhirui immediately realized his talent: the Heavenly Fire Spiritual Root, possibly bearing a Taoist Body!

Such aptitude in other sects wouldn’t even require testing; as long as they were not infiltrators sent by other forces, they’d be directly recruited.

With proper cultivation, reaching the Individual Immortal Realm would be guaranteed, though future advancements would depend on one’s comprehension and ability.

From what Li Zhirui knew, this person’s aptitude, disposition, Spirit Sense were all top-notch, leaving only Dao Heart and comprehension uncertain for now.

If those two criteria were also excellent, Li Chenyang would practically be a born Heavenly Immortal Seed!

“Should I take the initiative and accept him as a disciple?” Li Zhirui suddenly contemplated.

The Tongtian Sect differs from most sects — there are no masters and disciples internally.

This is mainly to suppress the rise of factions and cliques.

Instead, every so often, cultivators at higher Realms would explain the Dao, answer questions for other disciples.

These relationships are like simple teacher and student, not too intimate.

Though the grace of master and disciple teaching could resolve the karmic debts Li Zhirui incurred upon receiving his legacy, doing so would thrust Li Chenyang into public attention, drawing much investigation into his identity.

Moreover, as a Sect Leader, leading by example in violating sect regulations would cause significant disruption to the Tongtian Sect.

Besides, Li Zhirui and his past incarnation were senior and junior disciples in the Shangqing Dao; if now he became Chenyang’s teacher, the situation would grow complex after awakening past life memories.

Even without awakened past memories, it’s still inappropriate, considering their master achieved the Daluo Dao Fruit.

How could a mere Profound Immortal rank alongside Daluo Dao Fruit?

Thus, Li Zhirui quickly dismissed the idea but soon conceived a more suitable approach!

That was to continuously disguise his identity, teaching him as a teacher until their karmic ties were resolved.

The identities of a teacher and a master hold considerable disparity, importantly avoiding the issues Li Zhirui previously worried about.

While pondering, Li Chenyang reached the six hundredth step!

Meanwhile, the third batch of children entered the Immortal Ascension Array.
