Rebuilding the Immortal Cultivator Clan

Chapter 2279 - 1608: Encounter

”Thank you for your hard work, Sect Leader. Without your intervention, we wouldn’t have been able to take down the Yuanmu Gate so easily.” Li Qiankun spoke sincerely.

Although he didn’t know the specific details, seeing the safe return of so many disciples made him realize Sect Leader Li Zhirui must have exerted great effort in this battle!

Otherwise, there wouldn’t have been so few casualties!

However, in the eyes of some foolish disciples, he seemed to be flattering.

”It was merely a coincidence; hitting the Yuanmu Gate cultivator’s vital spot by chance made the battle go smoothly.”

Li Zhirui shook his head and said, ”Count the Spiritual Objects and Methods obtained from the Yuanmu Gate properly. For the time being, do not go out too often; wait patiently for the calamity to end.”

”Please, Sect Leader, wait.”

Seeing him intent on leaving, Li Qiankun hurriedly spoke up, ”Currently, the Sect still has unresolved karma. Shouldn’t we arrange for the disciples to actively resolve these karmic issues?”

”I will handle this matter freely, there is no need to worry.”

Li Zhirui would not publicize the Path of Law he practiced, as it is considered part of his foundation. If known by enemies, they might devise methods to counter it, which would be detrimental to him, so he did not specifically explain.

”Then please trouble the Sect Leader.”

Li Qiankun did not doubt but believed that since the Sect Leader said so, it would definitely be properly resolved!

”Hmm.”

He responded with a sound and then planned to leave the Mountain Gate.

But before he could move, another disciple stepped forward, bowed, and said, ”Sect Leader, I have a request.”

Everyone turned their eyes to him, curiously observing this disciple.

Some, seeing who it was, had a vague guess in their hearts.

”What is it?” Li Zhirui stopped his motion and looked at the disciple he did not recognize.

”The disciple wishes to venture out during the calamity to accumulate as much Merit as possible. I hope the Sect Leader will permit it.” After speaking, he bowed again.

”The Tao Spirit Realm now is far more dangerous than you imagine. With your strength, a slight misstep could lead you into danger.”

Yet, he did not retreat but said determinedly, ”The disciple knows of his shallow foundation and dull aptitude. Only by risking everything can he achieve the Immortal Realm, so I hope the Sect Leader permits it!”

Li Zhirui’s expression remained unchanged, still looking at him calmly, ”Since you have such ambition, then go and try.”

Then, he turned his gaze to the others, ”If any of you have similar thoughts, feel free to act.”

Though he thought these eager disciples were confident because they faced little hardship during the attack on the Yuanmu Gate, feeling their power was great.

Not knowing it was just chance, the reality would harshly teach them their weakness once they leave the Sect’s protection.

”Thank you, Sect Leader. The disciple will certainly uphold the Tongtian Sect’s name.” The disciple said excitedly and confidently.

Li Zhirui did not respond; in the next moment, he disappeared, thinking that surviving would matter more than any fame.

Li Qiankun observed his demeanor and reactions, understanding his skepticism about this action.

So, after the Sect Leader left, he asked, ”Do you truly think you are powerful enough to survive the perilous calamity?”

”Yes!”

Seeing his confident appearance, Li Qiankun’s intentions to persuade were immediately rendered speechless.

’Fine, let them go. Perhaps through this trial, they will grow better in the future.’

The premise being their safety!

So he simply stated, ”Anyone wishing to venture out can retrieve an extra share of Spiritual Objects from the warehouse in advance.”

”These Spiritual Objects were part of the yield from the recent Yuanmu Gate attack, and this is your contribution.”

No worry about scarcity, but worry about equality!

Li Qiankun felt this needed clarification to avoid unnecessary trouble.

”Thank you, Sect Leader!”

Many disciples bowed to express gratitude.

With these Spiritual Objects, their chances of survival during outside trials increased.

Suddenly, even disciples who weren’t previously interested felt tempted.

——

Li Zhirui, already departed from Ascension Mountain, was unaware of the changes within the Sect after his leave.

His original defensive strategy underwent some changes.

Flying through the sky, he sought areas thick with Evil Qi, Death Energy, and other dark forces, purifying them to resolve his own karma and that of Tongtian Sect.

Though seemingly merely flying, Li Zhirui continually mobilized the Power of Purification, cleansing Evil Qi along his path.

Amidst the calamity, Evil Qi is ubiquitous but not as concentrated as in certain centers.

With the special nature of his Laws, he quickly found a valley teeming with Evil Qi, Death Energy, blood energy, and other malevolent energies.

From the remaining White Bone nearby and the blood-stained earth, it was evident a large-scale battle had occurred here not long ago!

Li Zhirui naturally wouldn’t delve into these issues, for winners and losers mattered not to him.

He was committed to purifying all dark energies here!

Having cultivated to this point, he had achieved high mastery of the Purification Principle.

Harnessing the Power of Purification required no complex actions, merely a thought to summon its potent force.

In the next instant, white lotuses sprouted suddenly on the charred, lifeless ground, rapidly matured, and dispersed lotus seeds far and wide upon reaching maturity.

This cycle repeated, and in just a quarter of an hour, the Purifying White Lotus covered half of the valley and continued expanding at a terrifying pace!

Another half-hour passed, and the Purifying White Lotus fully enveloped the valley, proceeding with thorough purification.

Under the influence of the purification force, the valley’s dark energies were completely eradicated.

With the last trace of malevolent energy purified, Li Zhirui immediately felt his body lighten.

Resolve five or six more areas like this valley, and his personal karma would be cleared swiftly.

As for the Sect’s remaining karma, his approach remained unchanged.

”I wonder if my efforts might cause the calamity to end earlier.”

But subsequently, Li Zhirui shook his head.

This calamity differs from ordinary ones; it’s not merely about cleansing accumulated malevolent filth but more about fulfilling the energy needed during the world’s ascension!

If the energy falls short, the calamity doesn’t end even if all malice dissipates!

These matters are largely irrelevant to Li Zhirui; once his personal and Tongtian Sect’s karma are resolved, he’ll return to Ascension Mountain and enter seclusion.

After purifying the valley, he continued flying to his next destination.

However, this time, the journey wasn’t straightforward.

During flight, Li Zhirui inadvertently encountered a cultivator being chased by several people.

By nature, he wouldn’t intervene, planning to avoid the scene as if unnoticed.

”Stop there! Who allowed you to leave?”

Unexpectedly, those cultivators called him out!

Perhaps his aura was so well-concealed that they were unaware he was a Profound Immortal instead of the low-level cultivator they assumed.

”Are you sure you want me to stay?”

Li Zhirui asked, his expression indifferent, amused rather than angry.

Unexpectedly encountering such an issue.
