Rebuilding the Immortal Cultivator Clan

Chapter 2100 1519: Preparation

Neither side was willing to pay the huge cost to launch an attack.

However, the Sea Clan was unwilling to stop there, because they knew this opportunity was rare. If they missed it, who knows how many years they would have to wait again, so they kept probing, trying to find flaws in Sea Division Cityʼs defenses, and thus break through the cultivatorsʼ side.

Unfortunately, as time went on, more and more cultivators arrived, and with so many cultivators strictly guarding, there simply werenʼt any flaws.

”If this continues, thereʼs no benefit. On the contrary, it keeps consuming a large amount of Spiritual Objects. I think itʼs better to cease this.” Some high-level Water Demon didnʼt want to stay any longer.

The leading Dragon Tribe noticed that although many Water Demons didnʼt speak up, they were silently standing behind the other side, clearly supporting this idea.

In contrast, the number of Water Demons standing on its side had significantly decreased.

”Very well, we have newly occupied a sea region, which might become the frontline against the Immortal Tao in the future, so we must prepare defensive measures.” The Dragon Tribe also couldnʼt oppose the will of many and had to agree.

”However! We canʼt just retreat directly, in case the cultivators initiate a pursuit, which could lead to a massive rout.”

”Therefore, letʼs first send the injured back. While retreating in batches, we must prepare various defensive measures, and have some clansmen stay behind to hold this place!”

The Sea Clan nodded in agreement, endorsing this approach.

Then they eagerly left to arrange the retreat.

”What a pity!”

The Dragon Tribe looked towards Sea Division City, sighed, and murmured, ”I didnʼt expect the Cave Abyss Sect to bow and ask for help at the first instance.”

According to the internal analysis of the Sea Clan, with the Cave Abyss Sectʼs prideful nature, they would at least wait until they lost Sea Division City and couldnʼt hold on before seeking help from the Immortal Tao.

And during the time the Immortal Tao organized and sent support cultivators, they might have already seized several water regions; by then, the attack and defense would have switched, and the Sea Clan would become the defending side. Trying to drive them away then would not be so easy.

But who would have thought that the Cave Abyss Sect would seek support immediately, resulting in the Sea Clan failing to capture Sea Division City, and instead causing a large number of casualties in this process.

However, things have turned out this way, and no amount of thoughts and unwillingness would be of any use.

The Sea Clanʼs major commotion naturally didnʼt go unnoticed by the cultivator side.

”Are they retreating?” a certain cultivator asked full of anticipation.

”Thatʼs right! They are retreating!” A certain Earth Immortal cultivator confirmed.

”Great!”

”The battle is finally over! I survived!”

The cultivators on the city walls suddenly erupted with cheers of joy, excitement, and mostly the relief of surviving a disaster.

The sound reached the ears of those cultivators who were recuperating and healing inside the city, and after a while, an even louder cheer rang out.

”Should we take this opportunity to pursue the Water Devil?”

Retreating on the battlefield is the most troublesome because itʼs easy to trigger the opponentʼs pursuit, and once a rout occurs, the situation gets worse.

”No! The Sea Clan is clearly executing a planned retreat. If we really launch a pursuit, weʼre likely to fall into their trap.” The Earth Immortal rejected the suggestion without hesitation.

Hearing this, everyone immediately fell in line, not entertaining further thoughts, honestly waiting for the end of the battle, and taking their gains to leave.

Meanwhile, inside the City Lordʼs Mansion.

Several Heavenly Immortal cultivators were meditating.

”Now that this matter is finished, we should return to our family.” The Heavenly Immortal of the Yumen He Family was the first to speak.

This time, the supporting powers from various sides suffered significant losses and didnʼt gain much in return, so their attitude wasnʼt pleasant.

The other Heavenly Immortals also began to speak, preparing to leave.

”Thanks to all you Fellow Daoistsʼ assistance, if you need help in the future, Cave Abyss Sect will not hesitate to lend our support!” The Heavenly Immortal from Cave Abyss Sect quickly stood up, seriously making a promise.

”Fellow Daoists, we appreciate your thoughtfulness.”

Everyoneʼs expressions improved slightly, but it was just that.

In the following period, Spirit Light flights constantly departed from Sea Division City.

In just one day, the bustling, overcrowded Sea Division City became deserted.

”Alas! This time, not only did we lose face, but more importantly, we exposed the Sectʼs strength.”

Though various powers knew that the Cave Abyss Sect suffered considerable losses due to failing the Profound Immortal Thunder Tribulation five consecutive times, the specific situation wasnʼt very clear.

But this time, the Sea Clanʼs invasion led to the Cave Abyss Sect seeking help from various sides, suddenly exposing their current strength.

As a result, many forces wonʼt respect them as they did before.

For instance, powers like the Yumen He Family and other Heavenly Immortal Powers, wouldnʼt have dared to express dissatisfaction with the Cave Abyss Sect in the past.

”Alas! Who knows if the decision back then to launch a Profound Immortal to reclaim the Sectʼs status was right or wrong...”

The Heavenly Immortal recalled the scenes of that year, when everyone was so unwilling, seemingly engulfed in anger, making this, in hindsight, an unwise decision impulsively.

But he knew very well that the Sectʼs decision was not wrong, and they should indeed not lose that power.

Yet who could have predicted that, after so many years, wasting vast resources and losing as many as six Heavenly Immortal Perfection predecessors, they still gained nothing?
