Rebuilding the Immortal Cultivator Clan

Chapter 2040 1489: Negotiations (Happy Holidays)

”Since we will be utilizing your Divine Domains and Stars to set up the Formation, a portion of the fees generated when using the Teleportation Array shall naturally be shared among you all.”

Seeing a few Divines reveal worried expressions, Ziwei seemed to understand their concerns and smiled as he explained, ”Are you perhaps worried that once the Teleportation Array is constructed in your Divine Domain, those with ill intent might take the opportunity to stir up trouble?”

”Your Majesty sees with clarity. Our strength is insufficient, and indeed, we worry such a situation may arise,” a Small Star God bowed and said.

”Hahahaha, there is no need for concern. The Great Teleportation Array will not be established within your Divine Domains or Stars, but upon the projections of the Stars onto the earth!”

Each of the Stars high above in the Ninth Heaven actually has a corresponding point of projection upon the land below. At these places, the power of the corresponding Star cast down is even stronger—this is what Ziwei referred to as the Star Projections.

”So that is how it is!”

But soon, all present thought of another issue, ”Then does this not mean cooperation with other beings is required?”

”Indeed, that is natural.”

After all, the materials needed to set up the Formation are far from cheap. While the Divine Path could foot the bill, to truly do so, the cost would be significant, and constant maintenance would also be required—so why not simply shift the cost outward, and continuously receive considerable Spiritual Objects in return, thereby strengthening the Divine Path?

Moreover, there is another very important reason. If the Teleportation Array were controlled solely by the Divine Path, the other factions might prefer to forgo such a convenient means of travel altogether rather than agree to have the Divine Path arrange the Teleportation Arrays.

”Mm. Since Your Majesty has thought through all aspects, and this matter brings us many benefits, naturally we shall not decline such kindness.”

Faced with the arrangement of Teleportation Arrays, none of the Star Gods voiced opposition; on the contrary, they seemed exceedingly expectant.

Especially those Star Gods of lesser strength—their hearts brimmed with anticipation, hoping to seize the chance to obtain resources for cultivation and enhance their cultivation level.

Only when he had garnered the support of all Star Gods did Ziwei proceed to the next action: contacting the Immortal Tao, Demonic Tao, Human Dao, Sea Clan, Devil Race, Ten Thousand Spirits Alliance, and every faction large and small within the Primal Spirit Realm, inviting them to confer upon the affair of the Great Teleportation Array at the Heavenly Court one month hence.

...

Buzz—

Soon after receiving the message, beams of light as wide as battle banners shot up from the land of East Continent, as the Eight-direction Heavenly Pillar Array was activated.

Many factions found themselves greatly surprised. For no apparent reason, why was a gathering of all major powers of the Immortal Tao suddenly summoned?

However, upon Mount Wanxian, Li Debo and the others had already learned the matter in advance and made their preparations.

”The Divine Path has developed a stable Great Teleportation Array Method and intends, one month hence, to invite all factions to deliberate upon whether to arrange the Great Teleportation Arrays within their own domains.”

Afterwards, a Heavenly Immortal elaborated upon a few points to note regarding this Great Teleportation Array: for instance, its location had to correspond to a Star Projection, and the materials for the array would need to be supplied by each party themselves, and so on.

Finally he said, ”Should you wish to arrange a Great Teleportation Array within your own domain, you are to make your decision within twenty days. Then we will go to the Heavenly Court to engage in final negotiations with the Divine Path.”

Yet, before the Eight-direction Heavenly Pillar Array had even been deactivated, certain factions had already confirmed their decision to construct the Teleportation Array.

Evidently, Li family was not the only group with connections inside the Divine Path.

”We, the Li family of Mount Wanxian in Shanhai State, also confirm our decision to arrange the Formation!”

In matters advantageous to itself, the Li family would naturally not refuse.

Even if long-distance teleportation was impossible, merely within the vast expanse of Shanhai State, it was worth the Li familyʼs heavy investment.

With the Teleportation Array, the Li familyʼs control over Shanhai State would reach an utmost height!

It is not an exaggeration to say that so long as a Great Teleportation Array is placed at strategic locations, the Li family can firmly grasp all of Shanhai State within their hands.

And after the Li family, many other factions also agreed.

At the same time, the entire Primal Spirit Realm was abuzz with excitement!

It was not only the Immortal Tao: the other camps too all employed their own means, hurrying to have each faction produce a plan.

Most factions, in fact, consented to the arrangement of the Great Teleportation Array.

For all could clearly see that with the advent of the Great Teleportation Array, the landscape of the Primal Spirit Realm would inevitably shift!

And within such upheaval, each sought to take the initiative, to seize opportunity, to elevate their own power to greater heights—or, at the very least, secure some advantage in the process.

...

”Damn it!”

”Is he truly so on guard against us!? We are of the same Divine Path, and yet such critical information we still hear from other factions!” a certain Great God roared in rage, clearly deeply dissatisfied with Ziweiʼs conduct.

”Has this not always been the case? Is it truly worth your anger?” said another Great God at his side. Yet from his expression it was obvious he did not bear his composure as well as he claimed.

”Truly, that one lacks strength of will! After all these years, he still so fears we will seize his subordinate godsʼ positions.” As he spoke, a hint of mockery crept across his face.

Yet should this affair be so easy?

If it had been many years ago, perhaps they might have had some slight chance. But with the passage of time, he has long since made the Heavenly Emperorʼs throne unshakeable!

Unless he one day loses his wits and commits some heinous sin against Heaven itself, none can hope to dethrone him.

But it seems he has not realized this. All these years, he has maintained constant vigilance and guardedness toward them.

However, this is not entirely Ziweiʼs own doing. Until now, these Great Gods of the various pantheons have continued to oppose him, never truly submitting to his rule.

In such circumstances, how could Ziwei possibly place his trust in them?

...

As sun rose and moon fell, twenty days passed in a flash.

All across the Primal Spirit Realm, dazzling beams of spiritual light soared, flying straight toward the Heavenly Court in the Ninth Heaven above.

On this day, it could be said to be the most bustling since the Heavenly Courtʼs founding!

Even the day of the Heavenly Courtʼs founding paled in comparison.

For all those coming to the Heavenly Court from each faction were Heavenly Immortals of Great Ability!

”Welcome, fellow Daoists. For this occasion, a banquet has been specially prepared—I hope all will do me the honor of attending.” Ziwei did not personally greet them at the gates, but as they entered the Hall of Splendor, he descended from the dais to show his respect.

”Then we thank Your Majesty, Heavenly Emperor.”

This small bit of honor and time, they were willing to grant to this Emperor Ziwei.

In that instant, the hall was filled with the clinking of cups, lively and boisterous indeed.

When food and wine had been consumed, the leftovers were swept away by attendants, and all manner of spiritual fruits, teas, and wines presented.

”I imagine that in these days, all have made their decisions. I wonder what opinions you hold on arranging the Great Teleportation Array?” Ziwei asked with a gentle smile.

”This action of Your Majesty is a boon to all present. One cannot tell how much pointless journeying time it will spare. My Immortal Tao, naturally, lends full support!”
