Rebuilding the Immortal Cultivator Clan

Chapter 531 - 537: Prelude

Having made up his mind, Xie Tianyu personally went to Shen Leishan, planning to use this matter as a mark of allegiance and lead the Tianluo Sect to defect to Shen Leishan.

Although he felt somewhat sorry for the Li family, for the sake of his own life and property, he had no other choice.

Moreover, in a way, it was the Li family who had abandoned the Tianluo Sect first, and what Xie Tianyu was doing now was merely for self-preservation.

”The Sect Leader of Tianluo Sect has come to visit?” The Sect Leader of Shen Leishan pondered for a moment before he remembered who that was, ”Isnʼt that a vassal force of the Li family? What is he here for?”

The disciple who came to report said, ”He claims to have very important matters to inform the sect about.”

The Sect Leader raised his eyebrows slightly and said, ”If thatʼs the case, then let him come in.”

”Xie Tianyu pays respects to the elder!”

Although they were both Golden Core cultivators, Xie Tianyu still lowered himself to show respect as a junior, his intentions plain to see.

”I heard you have something very important to say?” The Sect Leader had discerned Xie Tianyuʼs intentions from this one gesture but did not expose him; instead, he went straight to the point and asked.

Xie Tianyu had thought that the other party would ask him why he came to Shen Leishan, and he could then smoothly express his intent to ʼswitch allegiance,ʼ but instead, he was asked another question.

What could he do? He had to obediently answer.

”All of the Li familyʼs cultivators have already withdrawn from Hongluo State, and the same is likely true for the other states as well.”

The Sect Leaderʼs face changed subtly, and he said, ”How could the Li family move so quickly!?”

It was just the day before that he had received a message brought back by Master Yun Leiʼs envoy, instructing them to get ready, and upon his return, they would move against the Li family.

Since that person returned to Shen Leishan, not even twelve hours had passed!

And Li Zhirui and the others had only returned home yesterday.

It would have to be that the Li family was extraordinarily efficient, packing up and taking away all the Spiritual Objects overnight, or that the Li family had some other means of communication, having already sent word back without their knowledge.

What was originally thought to be a sure thing hadnʼt even begun when a hint of the unexpected arose.

If it wasnʼt for Xie Tianyu running over to inform them, they would probably still be in the dark.

”This is indeed very important information; you did well. The sect will not treat those who have contributed unjustly!”

As he spoke, the Sect Leaderʼs face suddenly revealed a sinister smile, saying, ”Now, I have a task for you. Take this matter and enter the Li familyʼs Wanxian Island, destroy the Island Defense Array from the inside.”

Xie Tianyuʼs expression froze instantly; this was practically a death sentence!

Whether he was successful or not, it was a road to certain death!

A wave of regret surged through Xie Tianyuʼs heart. If he had known it would come to this, he wouldnʼt have come himself. He had thought he would be treated favorably, but instead, he was facing this dire outcome.

”But the Tianluo Sect still needs me to preside over it…” Xie Tianyu tried to struggle.

”Donʼt worry; we will send a Golden Core Elder specifically to the Tianluo Sect to suppress the small fry,” said the Sect Leader.

Xie Tianyu wore a very reluctant smile on his face and said, ”Thank you, elder!”

Looking at Xie Tianyuʼs difficult departure, the Sect Leader did not care whether he could accomplish the task he was given. After all, what else could not be done by someone who would betray their benefactor to save their own life?

And just as he had anticipated, Xie Tianyu left Shen Leishan and neither went to Wanxian Island nor returned to Tianluo Sect, planning instead to directly leave both their spheres of influence.

”Should we strike now or wait for Master Yun Lei to return before making a move against the Li family?” The Sect Leader quickly called an Elder meeting to discuss the current situation.

If they were to start the battle now, the downside was that Shen Leishan was completely unprepared, and Yun Lei, along with dozens of Golden Core cultivators, had not yet returned, which was a very powerful force.

The advantage is that the Li family is also in a hurry and their preparations are not sufficient.

If we choose to wait for Yun Lei and the others to return before making a move, then the advantages and disadvantages would be completely reversed.

Everyone had their own opinions and views, and the entire hall became noisy.

It was not until another Nascent Soul True Lord Qing Lei appeared that everyone quieted down.

”Get ready, I will personally lead the attack on the Li family of Wanxian Island tomorrow!” Qing Lei didnʼt waste any words and directly set the plan in motion.

He thought that the Li familyʼs preparations were also insufficient, and their sudden strike might bring some unexpected surprises.

Even if there werenʼt any, and both sides ended up in a stalemate, by that time Yun Lei and others would almost be back, ready to take over.

However, Qing Lei did not explain the reason for his actions; he just ordered everyone to prepare and not to miss the assembly tomorrow.

——

On Wanxian Island.

”Shen Leishan must have also noticed the familyʼs movements; they should act in a few days,” Li Zhirui speculated.

”But since the Secret Realm has not closed yet, Yun Lei should not have returned, which will alleviate some of the familyʼs pressure.”

Li Zhirui added, ”But we cannot take it lightly, after all, even without Yun Lei, their strength is still greater than ours.”

”Are there any clan members who havenʼt returned? How is the preparation of various resources going?”

”They have all returned, and weʼve mobilized most of the familyʼs inventory; the reserve of resources is still considerable.”

After getting an update on the familyʼs current preparations, Li Zhiruiʼs hanging heart finally settled a bit.

After discussing how to respond to Shen Leishanʼs offensive, they departed to make their preparations.

”Zhirui, will Shen Leishan really take action?”

This was the first time Li Zhirui had met Li Shiqing since returning; Li Shiqing had locked himself in the Alchemy Room all of yesterday, crafting various precious Spirit Pills.

”Iʼm not sure either, but itʼs indeed highly possible.” And this was something he didnʼt dare to gamble on.

Li Shiqing sighed; he understood Li Zhiruiʼs concerns, but the thought of the family abandoning those Spirit Lands and prematurely harvesting nearly mature Spiritual Objects pained him deeply.

”If it really comes to a critical juncture, you take Zhixuan, Cheng Huo, and the others out through the secret passage! Understand?”

Li Shilian spoke earnestly, ”People are the future!”

”As long as you live, the Li family will have a day of resurgence!”

The secret underwater route they had privately traded with the Southern Edge Commerce Association had not been sealed, and only the three of them knew about it, so there was no worry of it being exposed.

”Absolutely!” Li Shiqing also agreed.

”That situation will never happen, donʼt worry!” Li Zhirui said with forced confidence.

If Jiang Fengwu were on Wanxian Island at this time, Li Zhirui would have been even more confident.

After all, it was she who created the Island Defense Array; she was the most familiar with the Starlight River Array! Besides her, the family had no other third-grade Array Master.

”Weʼll do our best!”

If possible, who would want to abandon a territory that has been managed for over a hundred years? Who would be willing to give up so many clan members?
