Rebuilding the Immortal Cultivator Clan

Chapter 506 - 512: Start of the War

On the day after Li Chengsheng had spread the message and returned to Wanxian Island, the Demon Cultivators summoned dozens of Golden Core and tens of thousands of lower-ranked cultivators, and they set off towards the Spiritual Cloud Sect from four separate directions.

Several hundred Spirit Boats ascended into the sky, the scale of their formation so vast that it actually blocked out the sun for several miles around!

Wherever they passed, the clouds that covered the sky were completely dispersed, revealing the true color of the heavens.

The imposing and terrifying momentum made all living beings cower, even breathing carefully so as not to attract their attention.

At that time, the Spiritual Cloud Sect was still scrambling to verify the menacing, yet seemingly credible rumor, while also gathering some precious Spiritual Objects.

If the message were false, everyone would rejoice, but if it turned out to be true, then they would be able to flee immediately.

As for the lower-ranking disciples and the middle-level executors, whether or not they could survive depended on their own abilities.

”Damn it, the rumor is actually true!” a Foundation Establishment cultivator trembled as he looked at the vast fleet before him.

But for the sake of the Sect, he still planned to send the message back, to buy a little time for his fellow disciples and elders, and perhaps this extra bit of time could save a few lives.

Unfortunately, he had already caught the attention of a Golden Core Demon Cultivator!

Just as he was about to activate the Communication Talisman, a streak of black light shot towards him, so fast that he could only watch helplessly as his own palm was swallowed up.

”If it werenʼt for the fear of interfering with the Holy Sectʼs grand plans, I would not spare your life,” the Demon Cultivator said with some dissatisfaction.

He had hoped to fully consume a cultivatorʼs body, but he was only tasked to stop him, not to kill him.

However, not all of the Spiritual Cloud Sect cultivators sent to scout were alone; the Demon Cultivators were indeed brutal in their methods but inevitably, some ʼfish slipped through the net.ʼ

So, by the time the Demon Cultivators entered the territory of the Spiritual Cloud Sect, they had already received the message.

”What should we do now? There are Demon Cultivators coming from four directions, and their strengths are considerable. It will be difficult to break through and escape in a short time.”

But if they took too long, the other Demon Cultivators from the various locations would completely surround them, leaving them with no way out.

”Now, our only option is to gather all disciples back to the Sect, unite all our strength, and fight the Demon Cultivators to our last, this is our only chance to survive,” the Sect Leader said with a grim face, but he didnʼt seem confident.

Because the Mountain Protection Array of the Spiritual Cloud Sect was only a third-tier Formation, its defenses were decent, but not enough to withstand the terrifying attacks of hundreds of Golden Core Demon Cultivators.

He was filled with regret at this moment, wishing he had believed the rumor from the start and fled the Spiritual Cloud Sect in time to save his own life, instead of being as anxious and terrified for his own safety as he was now.

”Sect Leader, perhaps we could seek help from the Li family and Shen Leishan. They should agree to help, right?”

After all, if the Green Mountain State truly became a stronghold for Demon Cultivators, that would pose a significant threat to both families.

But without any benefits, why would they agree to risk losing many of their own people to help?

”As long as the conditions set by the Li family are not too excessive, we will agree to all of them!” Resolving the Sectʼs crisis and safeguarding the lives of countless disciples was of utmost importance now. Those external possessions could always be regained in the future.

The other Elders, although reluctant, were not unable to discern the urgency of the situation.

”Elder Seven, you are adept in the arts of concealing and hiding your presence. This task is entrusted to you,” the Sect Leader continued to instruct: ”Go to the Li family first. If they are unwilling, then seek help from Shen Leishan.”

Elder Seven had no objections, confident in his Heavenly Gifted Divine Power, but he was unsure about the conditions mentioned by the Sect Leader and asked repeatedly, to avoid becoming the scapegoat in the future.

Finally, he received the reply: ”As long as we can preserve the Sectʼs legacy and the lives of our disciples, anything can be agreed to!” With this assurance, he left, satisfied.

”Gurgle—”

By the time Elder had arrived at the edge of the Mountain Protection Array, he could already see the huge fleet of Demon Cultivators in the distance. Even separated by dozens of miles, he could sense their terrifying momentum and couldnʼt help but swallow nervously.

But this was merely a quarter of the Demon Cultivatorsʼ military force!

”Elder, I hope you can act quickly. Facing such a massive scale of Demon Cultivators, our Sect may not hold out for long,” the Sect Leader said with a voice full of gravity.

Besides, it was also a reminder to him not to simply flee.

”Please rest assured, everyone!” the Elder responded gravely.

The Array opened up a small hole, through which the Elder stepped out of the Sect gates, carefully concealing himself as he followed some hidden paths and walked towards the distance.

The Demon Cultivators covered the distance of several tens of miles in less than fifteen minutes.

”Kill!”

As soon as the Demon Cultivators arrived, they began shouting loudly. For a moment, it seemed as if the heavens and the earth were enveloped in a layer of grey fog, which was the solidification of their malicious aura.

The already demoralized Cultivators found themselves even more overwhelmed. Despite having the advantage of terrain, they failed to seize the opportunity to launch a preemptive strike and were instead pressured near to the Sectʼs entrance by the Demon Cultivators.

Countless Demon Cultivators furiously attacked the Formation below, and continuous spells fell like fine drizzles, causing the Formationʼs Spirit Light to flicker non-stop.

This precarious scene jolted all the Cultivators to their senses, and they hastily began to counterattack.

Spirit Light of various colors soared into the sky, clashing with the attacks of the Demon Cultivators in midair. Some were neutralized by each other, while others shattered and continued towards their opponents.

To an outsider, it looked like a spectacular display of fireworks, beautiful yet fraught with danger!

Inside Spirit Cloud Mountain.

”Prepare to connect the Formation to the Spirit Vein!” the Elder of Array was drenched in sweat, but he forced himself to remain calm as he commanded the other Array Masters while personally overseeing the Great Array.

The Formation was consuming too much energy, and if they tried to replenish it with Spirit Stones, the rate at which they placed the stones wouldnʼt keep up with the consumption.

But by connecting to the Spirit Vein, they wouldnʼt have to worry about this issue, and some manpower could be freed up.

However, this method had one significant drawback: if too much Spiritual Energy was drawn, it could lead to a downgrade in the Spirit Veinʼs grade!

If they later wished to upgrade the grade of the Spirit Vein, the cost would be much higher!

But under the current circumstances, what choice did the Spiritual Cloud Sect have?

If the Mountain Protection Array were breached by the Demon Cultivators, who knew how many of them would survive?

”Are we not taking action yet?”

On a Spirit Boat filled with Golden Core cultivators belonging to the Demon Cultivators, suddenly a voice rang out.

They were the elite force for this operation. Those currently attacking included low-level Demon Cultivators and others who were mere puppets controlled by their spells.

”The Spiritual Cloud Sect has stood for a thousand years; they certainly have plenty of deep-seated strength. If we show ourselves now, we will undoubtedly become their target,” replied another Demon Cultivator leisurely. ”All we need to do now is to wear them down bit by bit, letting them sink into complete despair.”
