Rebuilding the Immortal Cultivator Clan

Chapter 469 - 475: Decision

Time flew swiftly by, and in the blink of an eye, more than two months had passed.

”Has he finally arrived?” Upon receiving the news of Xie Tianyuʼs visit, Li Zhirui immediately asked someone to bring him to a small meeting in the clan hall.

”I pay my respects to the True Lord!” Xie Tianyu, who had been waiting there, quickly got up and bowed as soon as he saw Li Zhirui enter.

”No need for such formalities, please sit down,” Li Zhirui said with a wave of his hand, being quite easygoing in this regard.

Even though he said this, Xie Tianyu still behaved very cautiously.

”I called you here today mainly to ask about your feelings and insights after taking the Sky Cleansing Pill and Golden Ganoderma Pill.”

Li Zhirui had carefully studied that video footage, but he couldnʼt make out the specific details of the changes within him, only noting that the Sky Cleansing Pill also had the effect of restoring mana.

”The Sky Cleansing Pill can steadily restore mana, which is also why I dared to recklessly cast spells during the first Tribulation Thunder,” Xie Tianyu organized his thoughts before continuing.

”The Golden Ganoderma Pill will strengthen the hollow core, making it easier to withstand the final Tribulation Thunder that tempers the Golden Core,” spoke Xie Tianyu.

Upon hearing this, Li Zhiruiʼs eyes lit up with understanding—so that was it!

No wonder when he was watching the recording, he felt something peculiar about the third Tribulation Thunder; he was actually able to transcend the tribulation so effortlessly because of the effects of the Golden Ganoderma Pill.

”Then, what made you decide to take the two Spirit Pills separately, and to begin with the Sky Cleansing Pill?” Li Zhirui asked again.

Xie Tianyu hesitated a bit, then said somewhat embarrassedly, ”You might not believe me if I told you, but itʼs true. There was a voice in the back of my mind telling me what to do, so I just did it.”

Upon hearing this, Li Zhirui raised his eyebrows, gave Xie Tianyu a thorough look up and down, making him feel uncomfortable, then suddenly smiled and said, ”It seems you have good fortune.”

This wasnʼt just a casual remark from Li Zhirui, but rather upon reflecting on Xie Tianyuʼs situation, it was evident that his fortunes were prosperous.

First, Li Zhirui picked Xie Tianyu from several candidates, then during the consumption of the Spirit Pills, Xie Tianyu had a sudden increase in Spirit Sense, and finally, when he was on the brink of succumbing to the Heart Demon Tribulation, he regained clarity at the last moment.

”What do you plan to do in the future?” Li Zhirui asked somewhat abruptly.

Xie Tianyuʼs heart raced, knowing this was an excellent opportunity to demonstrate his loyalty, and he immediately bowed deeply, saying, ”All of my cultivation is thanks to you, senior. I am willing to serve as a subordinate, to go through fire and water for you, tirelessly!”

”You sure know how to seize an opportunity, but Iʼm used to being on my own, so letʼs forego the idea of having servants,” Li Zhirui said with a wry smile, rejecting the offer without hesitation.

For now, setting other things aside, Li Zhirui had too many secrets. Even Jiang Fengwu, his partner, and his children, Li Chengsheng and Li Chengshuo, were kept in the dark—how could he possibly allow a stranger to follow him so closely?

Moreover, Xie Tianyuʼs proposition was merely an attempt to find a backer, to cling to a powerful patron. He may have some loyalty, but certainly not much.

Xie Tianyu wasnʼt too disappointed because he had been prepared for this response. With another bow, he said, ”I wish to establish a sect subordinate to your clan.”

The reason he chose to create a sect and not a family was because Xie Tianyu had no parents and did not know of any relatives. If he were to create a family, he would have to start from scratch, which would take up a considerable amount of his cultivation time, as he would be the sole cultivator at the beginning.

However, a sect would be different. He could recruit a batch of disciples from among the numerous Loose Cultivators, then select some of them to serve as Elders or Executors as a transitional arrangement.

Then, he would recruit disciples from common folk, training them from a young age. By the time they grew up, the sect would be on the right track!

Compared to the former approach, which might take a hundred or even hundreds of years, establishing a sect would likely take only a few decades, half the time.

”Hmm, discuss this matter with the Clan Leader to see where he intends to place you,” Li Zhirui said, as he generally did not interfere in such affairs.

Li Zhirui stood up, instructed the family members outside to lead Xie Tianyu to Li Dayuan, and then went to meet with Li Shiqing, to discuss how to distribute the two types of Spirit Pills.

”It has such effects? It seems the Spirit Pills you concocted this time are indeed excellent!” Li Shiqing laughed joyfully.

”Uncle, how do you plan to deal with these two types of Spirit Pills?”

Without any hesitation, Li Shiqing said, ”We must, of course, prepare a good reserve. Although thereʼs no immediate need for them now, a time will eventually come. Rather than scrambling later, itʼs better to be well-prepared in advance.”

”Ah! The foundation of the clan is still too weak. I hope the upcoming expedition to the Secret Realm can somewhat improve our situation.” Upon saying this, Li Shiqing couldnʼt help but sigh.

Li Zhirui then offered another perspective, saying, ”We still need to let those clan members in the late stages of Foundation Establishment venture out and gain experience. If they constantly remain within the clan, do they expect heavensent blessings or lotuses springing from the earth to advance their cultivation directly?”

Itʼs not to say that secluded cultivation wasnʼt a viable option, but the issue was, they had been in seclusion for so long without seizing the opportunity for breakthrough, so there was no need to waste time on it!

”Youʼre right, they should indeed go out and experience the world,” agreed Li Shiqing.

This time, he was resolute. Previously, he had been concerned about the safety of the clan members, and even if they saw the door to a breakthrough, there was no guarantee they could successfully enter it and might fall in the Thunder Tribulation.

But now with the Sky Cleansing Pill and Golden Ganoderma Pill, the chances of successfully transcending the tribulation greatly increased. If they still didnʼt succeed, it would call into question what they had been cultivating all these years.

At the same time, those clan members in the later stages of Foundation Establishment felt a sudden shudder, as if some ominous event was about to occur.

----

”Are you the one who just recently broke through to Golden Core?” Li Dayuan asked, with a demeanor that was neither friendly nor aloof.

As the Clan Leader of the Li family, although his cultivation was only at Foundation Establishment, his position was enough for him to sit on an equal footing with Golden Core Cultivators.

”Yes.”

”You wish to establish a sect subordinate to our clan? Do you have any preferred location in mind?”

Xie Tianyu nodded, saying, ”Iʼd like to establish the sect gate in Hongluo State.”

Hongluo State, located northwest of Guangqing State and close to Great Void Province, is rich in Spiritual Energy, with two third-order Spirit Veins. It once belonged to the territory of the Hongluo Sect.

One of those third-order Spirit Veins had an Immortal City for Loose Cultivators established on it, while the other had a medicinal garden, but only low-level, common Spiritual Medicines were planted there.

After all, this place was close to Great Void Province and somewhat far from Wanxian Island. In case of any mishap, even Li Zhirui would need half an hour to get there.
