Rebuilding the Immortal Cultivator Clan

Chapter 45: Stormy Weather

On an island located tens of thousands of miles east of Da Rong Island, close to the distant sea, hundreds of bandit cultivators had gathered, listening to the promises made by the eight Foundation Establishment cultivators at the very front.

”We are cultivators who wield power as well, but why donʼt those Blessed Spiritual Mountains and various resources belong to us?! Is it because we are not strong enough?”

A late-stage Foundation Establishment cultivator said aloud, ”No! Thatʼs not it! Itʼs because we are not united enough, our power is too dispersed, unlike those sects or families that can muster everyoneʼs strength!”

”But now, I, Kou Bai, along with the other seven fellows, will lead you to establish a power for loose cultivators, to resist the oppression from those powers!”

”Perhaps now, this force is just us here, but as our reputation spreads, more and more cultivators will join us, and by then we will become a colossal force that no one dares to ignore!”

”Then, we will no longer have to grovel before sect disciples and family scions; we can stand tall, converse with them as equals, because we will have the Loose Cultivators Alliance as our backing!”

”Loose Cultivators Alliance!”

A tidal wave of cheers resounded through the heavens, spreading continuously across the island. A fervent longing shone in the eyes of all the cultivators; they truly longed to witness the scene described by Kou Bai.

Being loose cultivators themselves, they understood all too well the hardships and difficulties of a loose cultivatorʼs life, which had driven them to become bandit cultivators. Now, with a chance to change their fate, they naturally did not want to continue living such lives, nor did they wish for their descendants to endure the same!

Kou Bai, looking at the several hundred Qi Cultivation bandit cultivators below with frenzied faces, revealed a brilliant smile, but deep in his eyes lay surging ambition!

The other seven Foundation Establishment cultivators were also delighted. They went from being solitary individuals to being able to command so many cultivators, filling their hearts with immense satisfaction. How could they not be happy?

”In order to make our names known, to attract more fellows to join us, we need to do something that will shock the world!”

A cruel glint flashed in Kou Baiʼs eyes as he said murderously, ”We will annihilate the Zheng, He, Zhang, and Li families, taking over their family Spirit Mountains to serve as the base for our Loose Cultivators Alliance.”

”Moreover, only in this way can we recruit more fellows; otherwise, without Spirit Lands of our own, we have no way to expand the allianceʼs scale.”

Kou Baiʼs words poured a bucket of ice water over everyoneʼs heads, making them all cool down, with some even wanting to back out.

Even the seven Foundation Establishment cultivators looked at Kou Bai in disbelief. They hadnʼt thought Kou Bai would be so crazy; to start by aiming to wipe out four major Foundation Establishment families!

”I know you all think Iʼve gone mad!” Kou Bai laughed, unconcerned, and said, ”But do you really think the power of these families is so formidable?”

”Maybe you donʼt know, but the Zheng, He, and Zhang families now only have two Foundation Establishment cultivators each. With our strength, we can easily defeat them.”

The news of the fall of Foundation Establishment cultivators from the three families had been discreetly spread by the Li family, and although many may not have believed it, with so much time passing without a sight of those three Foundation Establishment figures, many had come to believe the rumors.

Of course, as a loose cultivator, Kou Bai didnʼt have the clout to learn such information; but there were those who wanted to use him to remove these Foundation Establishment families, naturally they would not hide such crucial news from him.

”Then why include the Li family?” a Foundation Establishment cultivator asked, puzzled. ”Rumor has it the Li family has four Foundation Establishment cultivators. Even if the other three families have only two each, all together they still outnumber us.”

Not to mention, the territories of the four big families all had Island Defense Arrays set up; to break through these arrays, oneʼs strength had to be at least two to three times greater than the opponentʼs.

”The Li family is indeed powerful, but it is not without its times of weakness,” said Kou Bai, whose ambition was lofty, but he was no fool. Since he dared to include the Li family, he naturally had his own considerations.

”Among the four Foundation Establishment Cultivators in the Li family, there will definitely be one stationed in the Marketplace, and they send out a Foundation Establishment every so often to settle accounts and hand over duties at the Marketplace. If we make our move then, there will also only be two Foundation Establishment Cultivators left on Da Rong Island.”

Seeing that their opposition was no longer firm, Kou Bai tempted them again, ”You should know that Cloudtop Pavilion and Li Familyʼs Grocery Store are the Li familyʼs properties in Yunqing Marketplace, right? But do you know how many Spirit Stones these two shops bring in for the Li family each month?”

”At least three thousand Spirit Stones!” A glint of greed shone in Kou Baiʼs eyes as he continued, ”Last month, a merchant caravan passed by and ordered three thousand Jade Spirit Pills from the Li family, and that deal alone was worth nine thousand Spirit Stones!”

Now, faced with such enormous profits, most of the cultivators defected; no one questioned or opposed why they should attack the Li family anymore.

Seeing this, Kou Bai threw another bombshell, ”And I will also invite two more fellow daoists to join us, by then we will have ten Foundation Establishment Cultivators. These four families will not be able to stop us!”

”Long live the Loose Cultivator Alliance!” Someone suddenly shouted out, and in the end, hundreds of cultivators on the island were all yelling it out loud.

Everyone was caught up in the bright future depicted by Kou Bai, yet no one considered what stance the master of Yunping State—the Yuanming Sect—might take towards them!

Kou Bai, the only one remembering this, naturally would not voice it; otherwise, the unity he had painstakingly built would instantly collapse.

As for what fate these cultivators might meet after the deed, what did that have to do with him, Kou Bai?

...

Unaware of the imminent danger, the Li family continued to live in peace and harmony.

At the base of a desolate mountain on the north side of Da Rong Island, Li Zhirui and Da Qing were diligently training their strength. After this period of tireless effort, both the human and the turtle had made significant progress.

”Crack—”

A sound of a branch being snapped suddenly arose, and Li Zhirui turned sharply, only to see a flustered Li Zhixuan standing there.

It had been a year since Li Zhirui last saw her, and she hadnʼt changed much.

Li Zhirui immediately reined in his aura and approached her, asking, ”What are you doing here?”

Although the clan did not restrict those Secular Clansmen who had not yet cultivated from leaving the Spirit Wisdom Court, it was indeed somewhat odd for such a small child to run into the wild mountains.

”I heard that a sword is a weapon of killing, and I want to hone my sword skills through combat,” Li Zhixuan said seriously, her little face determined.

Da Rong Island was vast, and aside from the places where the Secular Clansmen lived, there were wild beasts in other areas, though no large ones.

Li Zhirui smiled slightly and asked, ”You are still too young; swinging the iron sword on your back must be hard, and have you even mastered the basic sword techniques yet?”

Li Zhixuan did not speak, but she looked stubbornly at Li Zhirui. Despite him being a cultivator and a well-known prodigy in the Li family, she did not want to back down.

”It seems you are not convinced?” Li Zhirui laughed indifferently and said, ”In that case, why donʼt we have a contest of swordsmanship? If I win, you will obediently go back and continue studying basic sword techniques, but if you win, once you break through to the first level of Qi Cultivation, I will give you ten bottles of Jade Spirit Pills and this Green Wood Sword. How about that?”
