The Strongest Urban Son-in-law

Chapter 449: Chapter 448: Proposing Marriage

Ye Feng had just nodded indifferently to Sir Han’s praise, not feeling particularly elated.

For Ye Feng, Han Jiaguo was merely a grandmaster strongman. Ye Feng was only considering Gao Tianshou’s feelings; at his peak, Ye Feng was a legendary strongman from the Divine Realm, and to be frank, no one was qualified to appraise him. In the entire Dragon Country, less than a handful could evaluate Ye Feng.

Sir Han didn’t take Ye Feng’s attitude amiss. After all, possessing such strength at a young age, some arrogance was to be expected. Sir Han believed that if he had achieved what Ye Feng had at his age, he would certainly have become even more conceited, probably by a thousandfold compared to Ye Feng.

Sir Han said, ”Come, come, please take a seat, and don’t just stand.”

Ye Feng nodded and sat down. Then Sir Han said, ”Ah... It’s been so long since our families gathered together like this. I remember the last time both our families ate together—it has been more than twenty years, hasn’t it?”

”Yes...” Gao Tianshou also nodded and said.

”The reason I invited you all here today is to reconcile our two families’ relationship. We shouldn’t keep dwelling on that incident from more than twenty years ago. Don’t you think so?” said Sir Han.

Gao Tianshou nodded, his face showing a shade of guilt, ”You’re right, it was our fault, the Gao Family, at that time!”

”Who’s right or wrong, it’s no one’s blame now. Let bygones be bygones, let’s eat!” Sir Han said.

Everyone nodded, and at that moment, Han Yi sat beside Ye Feng, having remained silent thus far.

Ye Feng also felt apologetic, especially since Han Yi had happily invited him yesterday only to be rebuffed harshly by him.

Ye Feng looked at Han Yi, ”Han Yi, I’m sorry about yesterday. There were reasons for my attitude, I hope you won’t mind.”

Upon hearing Ye Feng’s words, Han Yi’s face lit up with a smile, ”I know, as long as it wasn’t intentional, it’s okay. Just don’t blame me for not recognizing you if you’re that harsh again!”

Seeing Han Yi’s smile, Ye Feng was once again reminded of his junior sister and her smile.

A rare tenderness appeared on Ye Feng’s face, ”I’m glad you’re not upset, I promise it won’t happen again...”

Apart from Lin Shiyu, Han Yi might be the only person Ye Feng treated so gently.

Afterward, Ye Feng and Han Yi began to chat, putting the unpleasantness of yesterday entirely behind them.

Seeing Ye Feng and Han Yi getting along so well, Gao Tianshou and Han Jiaguo shared a look, both wearing gratified smiles.

The conversation flowed freely as everyone enjoyed their meal in a harmonious atmosphere.

Soon after everyone was full, they moved to the living room to drink tea and chat. That’s when Sir Han spoke up, ”Gao, the fact of the matter is, I’ve called your family here today to discuss something with you.”

Hearing Sir Han’s words, Gao Tianshou straightforwardly replied, ”Whatever it is, just speak up. There’s no need for courtesies between us.”

Han Jiaguo asked, ”Gao, how old is Ye Feng now?”

Gao Tianshou answered, ”Twenty-six.”

Han Jiaguo nodded, ”Our Han Yi is twenty-two. Ye Feng and Han Yi are both at the age to be wed. They seem to have a good relationship and get along well. Why don’t we play matchmaker and let them be together?”

Upon hearing Han Jiaguo’s words, both Ye Feng and Han Yi were taken aback, while Gao Tianshou had already anticipated this.

”No!” But at that moment, Ye Feng flatly rejected the idea.

Indeed, Ye Feng couldn’t deny his special affection for Han Yi, but she was not his junior sister, and Ye Feng already had a wife.

Upon hearing Ye Feng’s response, Han Jiaguo wasn’t upset, instead, he looked at Ye Feng and asked, ”Ye Feng, why not? Do you think Han Yi isn’t good enough for you? Tell me, do you find fault with Han Yi’s appearance?”

Ye Feng shook his head, ”Han Yi is stunningly beautiful, a rarity among humans. That’s certainly not the case.”

”Oh? Then you think Han Yi’s character isn’t good enough for you, or is it about the conditions not matching up?” Han Jiaguo questioned.

Ye Feng shook his head again, ”Neither. Han Yi is kind-hearted, has a considerate soul, and is very gentle. To have such a spirit in this family, one could say she’s one in a million. That’s not the issue. It’s just that I already have a wife, so I cannot agree, and I believe Han Yi wouldn’t agree either.”

Han Yi was happy to hear Ye Feng’s praise but felt a slight disappointment after being rejected. Truth be told, Han Yi was intrigued by Ye Feng, who had also inspired her to rekindle her hopes in the path of Martial Arts. Saying that Han Yi didn’t like Ye Feng would be an outright lie.

”Hahaha!” After hearing Ye Feng’s words, Han Jiaguo laughed heartily, ”Ye Feng, we know that you already have a wife. If we’re discussing this with you, of course we’ve done our research. Don’t worry, we won’t mind. You are the favored son of heaven, a dragon amongst men, and the foremost genius in a millennium.

For someone like you to have two or three wives is ordinary. To be honest, I have had three wives myself, though they have passed away before me. You are more accomplished than I am; having an additional wife or two is beyond my right to criticize or to mind. Moreover, I have discussed this with Han Yi already, and she wouldn’t mind it either.”

At this point, Zhou Shuyun and the others were very pleased. If this marriage could be facilitated, they would be quite happy as well.

Han Yi, having grown up in such an environment where Han Yunguo had two wives who got along like sisters, would perhaps mind if she were to marry someone else with multiple wives. However, if it were Ye Feng, Han Yi wouldn’t mind. Han Yi bowed her head in silence.

Gao Qingqing quickly interposed, ”I think this is a wonderful idea. Cousin, you’re so outstanding, it’s quite normal for you to have two wives, isn’t it?”
