The Strongest Urban Son-in-law

Chapter 407: Chapter 406: Tense Atmosphere

However, Gao Zhiyuan and Gao Qingqing looked extremely unhappy because they were unsure of Gao Tianshou’s attitude toward Ye Feng and whether he would take away the affection that Gao Tianshou had for the two of them.

Gao Tianshou asked indifferently, ”Zhixiang, has Ye Feng arrived?”

Gao Zhixiang nodded, ”Grandfather, I have already told him. He said he will come right away.”

”Humph! Just a bastard, and he really takes himself seriously, making all of us wait for him?”

Gao Qingqing’s eyes showed disdain, feeling very uncomfortable towards Ye Feng.

Zhou Shuyun looked at Gao Tianshou and said, ”Old man, do you really think that Ye Feng is Qinger’s son?”

Gao Tianshou shook his head, ”I am not sure either. Let’s wait for him to get here.”

Zhou Shuyun frowned and said, ”Qinger lost all face for the Gao Family back then, running away with a poor boy, making our Gao Family the laughing stock of the entire Longdu. If Ye Feng really is your grandson and mine, should our Gao Family acknowledge him or not?”

”If he is indeed my grandson, I naturally have to acknowledge him. Why wouldn’t I? If he is not, and comes to the Gao Family with an agenda, then don’t blame me for being rude!” Gao Tianshou’s face suddenly turned icy.

Gao Tianfeng, who had been silent, frowned, ”Dad, you must think this through. He is a bastard. The issue with little Qinger had already caused an uproar in Longdu back then, everyone laughed at our Gao Family.

If we acknowledge another bastard now, everyone will laugh at us again. We just finally got people to forget about that incident; do you want them to remember it once more?”

”Uncle, that’s a bit harsh. The boy also carries our Gao Family’s blood!”

Gao Zhixiang was frowning, clearly displeased as he spoke to Gao Benfeng.

Gao Zhiyuan shouted angrily, ”Gao Zhixiang, adults are talking! You, a child, should not interrupt!”

”Enough! Let’s stop talking and wait until Ye Feng arrives!” Mr. Gao Tianshou shouted loudly.

At that moment, Ye Feng walked into the hall; as he entered, all eyes fell on him. He approached Old Sir Gao and bowed slightly, showing respect, ”Old Sir Gao.”

After all, Gao Tianshou was still Ye Feng’s maternal grandfather; a due level of respect was appropriate.

Gao Tianshou looked at Ye Feng, his tone also very mild, ”Ye Feng, have a seat.”

Ye Feng nodded lightly and then sat opposite Gao Tianfeng. Gao Tianshou continued, ”Ye Feng, Gao Ningning has already told me about your matters from yesterday.”

”Mhm,” Ye Feng nodded lightly, not seeming to care much.

Gao Tianshou looked at Ye Feng, guilt appearing in his eyes, ”Ye Feng, how is your mother doing?”

Ye Feng shook his head, ”My parents disappeared when I was twelve years old, and there has been no news of them till now.”

”What!” Everyone showed a surprised expression; they hadn’t expected that Ye Feng’s parents had been missing for so many years.

Seeing their surprised faces, a hint of disdain appeared in Ye Feng’s eyes.

Clearly, they had never cared about his mother. With the Gao Family’s influence, they could have easily inquired about Ye Feng’s parents had they wished to.

Now that they were shocked to hear of Ye Feng’s parents’ disappearance, it was clear they had never cared for Ye Feng’s mother and obviously wouldn’t care for him as their grandson either.

Gao Tianshou said, ”Ye Feng, I believe you are my grandson. These years, it must have been tough for you being alone outside. From now on, the Gao Family will be your home. Stay here...”

Hearing Gao Tianshou’s words, Gao Benfeng, Gao Zhiyuan, and Gao Qingqing all became nervous.

Gao Benfeng said, ”Dad, although this child looks a lot like my sister, we still cannot be certain if he really is my sister’s son. I think you should do a DNA test first.”

Hearing Gao Benfeng’s words, Gao Zhiyuan also nodded, ”Right, we should be sure. After all, our Gao Family is influential, and many are eyeing our wealth; who knows if this kid is here to mooch off us?”

”Exactly, our Gao Family, being one of the top five elite families in Longdu, who wouldn’t want to associate with us, who knows if he’s deceiving us!” Gao Qingqing also said.

Gao Tianshou frowned, pondering, while Ye Feng remained silent, letting this family continue their display.

Zhou Shuyun said, ”Old man, they are not entirely wrong. Although I believe Ye Feng is definitely my grandson, it’s better to be safe than sorry. A test will give us peace of mind and remove any doubts for the future, don’t you think?”

Gao Tianshou nodded, finding their arguments reasonable, ”What you all say makes sense.”

At this, Gao Benfeng, Gao Zhiyuan, and Gao Qingqing all grew excited, with Gao Zhiyuan saying, ”Grandfather, the hospital owned by our Gao Family can perform the test, and we could have the results by this afternoon!”

If they indeed conducted a DNA test and it confirmed that Ye Feng was Gao Tianshou’s grandson, Gao Zhiyuan had the means to swap the report. Hearing Gao Tianshou’s approval, Gao Zhiyuan got even more excited.

”Ye Feng, although I believe you’re my grandson, you have to understand that if we don’t do it, I’ll always have this nagging doubt. After the test, it will be easier for us to truly bond as a family, don’t you think?” Gao Tianshou said to Ye Feng.

Ye Feng said calmly, ”No need...”

”Hmm?” Hearing Ye Feng’s response, everyone was taken aback, looking at him in surprise.

Gao Zhiyuan coldly smiled, ”Kid, you must be feeling guilty, right? You’re probably eyeing our Gao Family’s wealth and now you’re scared of doing the test, aren’t you?”

Ye Feng simply ignored Gao Zhiyuan, who he considered a fool; there was no point in arguing with him.

Ye Feng addressed Gao Tianshou, ”Why exactly should I go along with a test? What’s in it for me?”

”Exactly!” Gao Zhiyuan exclaimed, ”You can see! I was right; this bastard is after our family’s wealth. I don’t think he is Aunt’s son at all!”
