From Danmachi to God of Ninja

Chapter 31: Chapter 31

At Twilight Manor, Tione clicked her tongue in amazement after watching the whole thing.

”That guy’s incredible. He took on that many enemies by himself and still won!”

”Hmph, I told you from the start he wasn’t ordinary,” Tiona said proudly, hands on her hips.

”The younger generation really is something,” Riveria murmured, exchanging a look with the Braver, Finn, before sighing in admiration.

”Hahahaha! That’s what makes it interesting!” Gareth roared with laughter.

While the others were still discussing it excitedly, Bete and Ais, who had been sitting off to the side, stood up at the same time and headed for the door.

”Ais, Bete, where are you going?” Tiona asked.

”What’s it to you?” Bete snapped with his usual sour expression, shoving the door open and walking out.

”The Dungeon,” Ais replied succinctly, then left without another word.

”Ais and that Bete guy both got fired up, huh?” Tiona giggled behind her hand.

”Well, of course. If they don’t work harder, that guy might catch up to them before long,” Tione said, stretching her arms behind her head as she rose to her feet.

”I should head into the Dungeon and move around a bit too.”

”Ah, me too...”

Watching the two sisters leave while chatting and laughing, Finn finally spoke as well.

”It’s time to start planning a new expedition.”

...

The moment Kiriya sent Hyacinthus flying with a kick, all of Orario exploded with excitement.

One man, standing alone against one of Orario’s core Familias, had completely crushed more than a hundred enemies, including their Lv. 3 captain, without the slightest suspense!

What kind of strength was that?

What kind of achievement was that?

A scene like this had not occurred in a thousand years, and yet they had just witnessed it with their own eyes.

How could that not stir them?

”Kiriya—!”

”Kiriya—!”

People shouted the boy’s name at the top of their lungs, overflowing with excitement.

Quite a few girls had gone so red they were practically blooming, screaming themselves hoarse.

Of course, not everyone was having such a wonderful time.

For example, the gamblers.

Wanting to play it safe, nearly all of them had bet on the Apollo Familia.

Some had even emptied their life savings into it.

And now they had lost everything.

Meanwhile, the tiny handful of adventurers who had gone for the long shot, along with the bookies who had opened that line, were making out like bandits.

One example was the waitress from The Hostess of Fertility, Syr Flova, who was practically buried under the pile of gold coins she had won, making the gamblers around her twitch at the corners of their mouths.

Quite a few of them wanted nothing more than to ”borrow” a little money from that soft, delicate waitress.

But the owner of The Hostess of Fertility, Mama Mia, was already standing in the middle of the tavern, glaring at those adventurers like a tiger watching their prey.

The pressure of a Lv. 6 at full force instantly brought certain gamblers back to their senses.

”Well, well, looks like Miss Syr really has a good eye. You picked the winner in one shot.”

”Exactly. That was amazing!”

”No, no, I just got lucky,” Syr replied modestly.

But as she looked at the young man in the Divine Mirror, standing there in all his brilliance, a strange light flickered through her eyes.

If the gamblers had merely been flayed alive financially, then what Apollo was suffering was closer to having his heart carved out.

He had started with over a hundred Familia members under his command and had grandly planned to snatch Hestia’s child away.

And now, in the blink of an eye, his Familia had been annihilated, and he had lost so thoroughly it was hard to imagine losing more.

Worse, that was only the beginning of his misfortune!

...

”NOOOOO! Impossible! My child... how could he lose?!”

”A~po~llo~”

The warm greeting came with such deadly sweetness that Apollo stiffened before slowly turning around.

What he saw was a one-meter-forty demon queen with twin-tails practically floating upward on their own and an ominous black aura rising off her body!

”H-Hestia, calm down. Please, you really need to calm down,” Apollo stammered, sweat pouring down his face.

”We’re from the same pantheon, I even courted you once! For the sake of that unforgettable relationship we once had, you can—”

’What a dumbass’

At that exact moment, every god in the hall had the same thought.

Just how brain-dead did someone have to be to bring that up in front of Hestia?

Back in heaven, Hestia had been famous for keeping herself utterly pure, and she despised those clingy male gods who pursued her to the core of her being.

Apollo had once gone all out in trying to win her over and had disgusted Hestia so badly that she had been holding onto that grudge for ages.

Originally, she had nearly forgotten about it.

But in his panic, Apollo had short-circuited and brought it up himself, making her even angrier.

”Ah, thanks for reminding me. I was just about to forget about it!”

The crimson light in Hestia’s eyes deepened.

”This time, I’ll settle the old score and the new one together.”

”Apollo, you did say the winner could make any demand of the loser, didn’t you?”

”From today onward, all property belonging to the Apollo Familia will be transferred to the Hestia Familia. Your members will all be disbanded. And as for you—get out of Orario right now, and never set foot in this city again!”

In a voice so calm it had become cold, Hestia pronounced the fate of Apollo and his Familia.

”Noooo—!”

Apollo collapsed to his knees and clutched his head, wailing miserably.

That expression—like he had just been cucked by an ugly bastard—filled the other gods with deep satisfaction.

”Serves you right for always stealing other people’s children!”

”Serves you right for never acting like a decent person!”

”Well deserved!”

After saying it all, Hestia felt the gloom in her chest vanish completely, leaving her wonderfully refreshed.

Today, she had finally settled accounts with the disgusting pest that was Apollo, and on top of that, she had gotten to show off spectacularly in front of all the gods.

A double blessing! And all of it had come from that miraculous boy!
