Alpha's Regret: The Seventh Time was Forever

Chapter 699: Chapter 699 – Voren, they fell into the trap

Before Voren could respond, a mindlink shot through his consciousness, urgent and sharp.

’We need the crown and necklaces. I’m coming for them.’

It was Oriana. She had been keeping watch on them since they left the event hall, her presence a silent sentinel in the shadows.

’Okay.’

Voren responded without hesitation, his thoughts swift and sure.

”Mom is coming for the crowns and necklaces.”

He moved to their secret jewelry safe, his fingers working the hidden mechanism with practiced ease.

The wall slid open, revealing the vault within. He removed the crown carrier first, a sleek black case lined with velvet, and placed both his and Seraphine’s crowns inside. Then came the necklaces, the mythical stones pulsing with soft, otherworldly light as he lifted them from their resting place.

He closed the box just as the doorbell rang.

His footsteps carried him quickly across the room, and he pulled open the door to find his mother standing there, her expression unreadable.

Oriana’s gaze swept over him. The boxer shorts, the bare chest. The flush still coloring his skin. She shook her head, a knowing glint in her eyes. She could already guess what the couple had been up to.

”Mindlink me for some herbs when you’re done.” Her voice was dry, almost amused. ”I can’t stop your raging pheromones, but I have better ways of keeping both the pups safe.”

For the first time in longer than he could remember, Voren felt heat creep up his neck. Embarrassment flickered across his features.

His mother had seen through him like glass, reading every thought, every desire, every desperate hunger he had been trying to suppress.

It had been so hard resisting his wife for almost two weeks. And after getting one chance, one taste, he just wanted more.

When he returned to the bedroom, he found Seraphine waiting, her gaze curious.

”You don’t have to worry about Ravyn.” His voice was steady, reassuring. ”I know him better than anyone. Our friendship means a lot to him, and he won’t dare ruin it.”

He paused, something softening in his expression. ”Besides, I have a soft spot for him. His mistake became my gain, and I will forever be grateful to him.”

Seraphine wasn’t surprised. She had seen the way Voren spoke about Ravyn, the way old memories flickered in his eyes when he mentioned their childhood together. There was love there. Complicated, bruised, but love nonetheless.

”I should thank him too.” Her voice was quiet, thoughtful. ”For treating me the way he did. If not, I would never have known you like this.”

Back then, she had always seen Voren as some untouchable Alpha. Powerful, distant. A man carved from stone and duty. But now? Now he was hers, and hers alone.

”I shall proceed with the transfer then.” She reached for her phone. ”When Kylie calls, I’ll explain it to her.”

”Yeah, so let me transfer it to you from my account.”

Voren reached for his phone, his fingers already moving across the screen. But Seraphine’s hand shot out, stopping him.

”What are you doing?”

”I only thought of using your account. The money must be from me.” His voice was serious, his expression earnest. But Seraphine was confused.

”What difference does it make? Everything you have is mine, and vice versa. We only agreed to keep things in separate names for situations like this.”

”Yes, but—”

”No buts.”

She cut him off, her voice firm. Her fingers flew across her phone, completing the transfer with practiced efficiency.

The moment it was done, she noticed the change in Voren’s mood. His expression soured, his jaw tightening. He moved to the bed, sitting on the edge, his shoulders slumped.

”What’s with the sad face?”

She sat beside him, her hand finding his thigh. Voren pulled her into his arms, his face burying in her hair.

”It’s my duty to take care of you.” His voice was muffled, thick with something that sounded almost like shame. ”Your money should be for savings. I haven’t had a woman pay my bills before.”

Seraphine smiled against his chest. ”But I’m not just any woman. I’m your wife.” She pulled back, her gaze meeting his. ”And it’s not as if you don’t have the money. I just refuse to take it back.”

She paused, her expression softening, growing thoughtful.

”But think critically. Between love, my body, and money, which do you think is more valuable to me?”

Voren had no idea where the conversation was headed. But he responded truthfully, his voice low and sincere. ”Your love first. Your body second. And money third.”

Seraphine’s smile deepened. ”If you know this, then what makes you think I’ll hold back from allowing you to spend my money after giving you my love and body?”

She had never been the kind to freeload. The only difference was, when she was with Ravyn, she helped him secretly. Voren already knew who she was, so she didn’t have to hide it.

”In that case, I need the passcode to all your accounts.”

Seraphine did not hesitate. ”It’s Espe and Bryan’s birthdays.”

Voren took out his phone, logged into her account, and changed all the passcodes. His fingers moved with quick, sure strokes.

”There. All changed.” If she can’t access her account, then she’ll have no choice but to spend his money. He looked up, a smirk playing at the corners of his lips. ”From now onwards, we spend my money. Yours is for savings and emergencies.”

Seraphine’s face turned ashen when she tried accessing her account. Error. Access denied. She tried again. Same result.

”Don’t try to hack it.” Voren’s smirk widened, a glint of triumph in his eyes.

”You don’t think the times I spent watching you hack were for nothing, right? You can’t hack this one. And that’s how it goes. Your money is for saving. You can’t spend it on me again.”

Seraphine opened her mouth to argue, but his lips pressed against hers, swallowing her protests. His tongue explored her warm mouth, teasing, tasting, claiming. She melted into him, all their arguments about finances forgotten as their moans filled the room.

Voren had learned to be gentle. It was torture to both of them, a slow burn that left them aching and breathless. But it was better than nothing. Better than the cold emptiness of restraint.

Seraphine drifted to sleep on top of Voren, her body draped over his like a blanket. He kept his manhood inside her, pressing her to his chest, unwilling to let her go. Unwilling to break the connection that bound them.

No one knew how long time passed before the pack alarms began to blare.

The sound tore through the night, shrill and urgent, shattering the silence like glass. Voren’s eyes snapped open, his body tensing beneath Seraphine’s sleeping form.

A mindlink followed, sharp and triumphant. ’Voren, they fell into the trap.’
