Chapter 666 - Goddess, you are so hot

After Corvine carried Seraphine off to her suite last night, Liah figured she’d just wait for him in theirs. She was still thinking about how quiet the halls felt when she got to the door and stopped cold. Jasmine was coming out.

If the other girl hadn’t looked so red in the face the second she saw Liah, maybe it wouldn’t have set off any alarms. But that flushed look was hard to miss.

”Jasmine, what are you doing here?” Liah’s voice came out sharper than she meant, confusion sitting plain on her face.

Jasmine pressed her lips together, then let out a soft breath. ”It’s my fault. I’m too slow. I was putting together a little surprise for you both.”

Liah stood there weighing whether to let it go or haul her right back inside to check. Her eyes narrowed just a bit. ”How’d you even get our key code?”

A small smile tugged at Jasmine’s mouth. ”Kael’s got the codes to every room for emergencies. I begged him for it. Honest, Luna, I don’t mean any trouble. It’s just my wedding gift to the two of you.”

Liah opened her mouth to say something else, but Jasmine already hit the elevator button. The doors slid open, and she slipped inside before another word could land.

Liah stayed put a second, torn between waiting for Corvine and trusting the story. In the end she decided to give Jasmine the benefit of the doubt. She didn’t regret it.

The suite didn’t look like the same place anymore. Soft romantic colors covered everything. Warm lights glowed low. A table for two sat near the window with only a bottle of wine, a bowl of cherries, and a plate of chocolates.

On the bed a big white swan made of towels rested in the middle of scattered rose petals. Heat crawled straight up Liah’s chest and into her cheeks. She stood there staring, heart beating a little faster.

She headed for the bathroom and found a tiny scrap of black lingerie laid out neat on the counter. Jasmine had thought of that too.

If Liah hadn’t run into her in the hallway she probably would’ve thought the whole pack had set this up as some kind of welcome for the newly mated.

Nothing in the room pointed to Jasmine specifically. That made Liah’s chest feel warmer than before. The suspicion she’d been carrying around started to fade.

She stepped under the hot water and let it run over her shoulders. Steam filled the small space. She was still rinsing soap from her skin when she heard footsteps outside the glass door.

Her stomach flipped hard. Anxiety mixed with something hotter flooded her chest. This was it. No more waiting. No more careful distance.

Corvine pulled the door open and stepped in. He froze the second his eyes landed on her bare back. Water streamed down the curve of her spine. His voice came out low and rough.

”Goddess, you are so hot.”

Clothes hit the floor behind her. A second later his big palm settled on her wet skin, sliding slow from her waist up to her ribs. He buried his face in the soft place where her neck met her shoulder and breathed her in. His words brushed against her damp skin.

”It’s time to make you mine. And I can’t wait for the Blood Moon festival so I can put my mark right here on your neck.” His voice was rugged, filled with all the burried emotions of a lifetime.

Excitement shot through Liah so strong her knees almost gave. When the mate bond was restored, marking would be real soon. She turned under the spray to face him.

Her eyes dropped before she could stop them. His abs looked carved from stone, every line sharp and hard under the water. His cock hung heavy between his legs, already half hard and growing thicker while she stared.

The head was dark and flushed. She’d never seen one this close. Never touched one. The size of him made her stomach flutter with nerves and heat at the same time.

Corvine wasn’t looking away either. His gaze moved over every inch of her like he was memorizing it. They’d shared a room for days without ever being naked together. He couldn’t believe that this amazing woman was his.

All those walls were gone now. Water ran over her breasts, down the soft slope of her stomach, and between her thighs. His eyes followed every drop.

”How is Sera?” Her voice came out quieter than she expected.

He forced a small smile that didn’t quite reach his eyes. ”She’ll be fine. Luna Oriana’s with her.”

Relief loosened something in Liah’s chest. ”Good. Otherwise one of us should’ve stayed with her.”

Corvine didn’t answer with words. He just leaned in and took her mouth. This wasn’t their first kiss, but it felt different. No one was watching. No need to stay careful. His lips moved hungry against hers, tongue sliding deep.

One hand cupped the back of her head while the other spread wide across her wet back and pulled her flush against him. His cock pressed hot and hard against her belly, insistent.

Then he broke the kiss, breathing rough. His voice dropped lower.

”I won’t be able to stop. Let me shower first.”

Liah had already finished. She took the soap and turned him so she could wash his back. Her hands slid over the hard planes of muscle, following the deep groove of his spine.

Water and soap mixed under her palms. When she reached lower he made a low sound that vibrated in his chest. She soaped his chest next, then his stomach, then hesitated only a second before wrapping her fingers around the thick length of him.

He was fully hard now, pulsing against her palm. Too big for her hand to close around all the way. Corvine’s head dropped forward against the tile. His hips jerked once into her touch.

”Careful,” he rasped, voice rough with want. ”I’ve waited all my life for you. One more stroke and I’ll take you right here against the wall.”
