Alpha's Regret: The Seventh Time was Forever

Chapter 378: Chapter 378 - Without you around, everything feels so damn boring

The second Bloodfang seized control, Voren’s eyes flipped from their usual deep dark shade to an absolute, terrifying pitch black that seemed to swallow every bit of light in the room.

Seraphine, still perched right there on his lap, felt the change hit her like a physical wave crashing over her whole body.

The air grew thick and heavy, almost impossible to breathe, pressing down on her chest until the tiny hairs on the back of her neck stood straight up in pure alarm.

Bloodfang’s presence alone was terrifying. He didn’t even have to move or speak to make the whole world feel like it was holding its breath in fear. Most people would’ve lost their nerve instantly.

But when Seraphine looked straight into those endless black eyes, she still saw the man she loved buried somewhere deep inside them.

That knowledge gave her a fierce burst of courage, steadying her racing heart just enough. She drew in a long, calming breath and spoke his name softly, her voice full of warmth and determination.

”Bloodfang.”

The corners of his mouth curled up into a dangerous little smirk. Voren’s voice had always been rich and attractive, but under Bloodfang’s control it turned rough and raspy, laced with a wild, untamed edge that sent electric chills racing down her spine and straight into her core.

”Sera. I finally get to meet you.”

Some of the crushing tension in her chest loosened just a fraction. At least he didn’t sound as feral as she’d feared he might.

”Bloodfang,” she said, narrowing her eyes at him with a mix of affection and warning, ”you’ve been giving your human one hell of a hard time lately.”

His expression changed in a flash. For one brief, almost heartbreaking second, his gaze dropped like a scolded pup caught red-handed, a flicker of real guilt flashing across that powerful face.

But it vanished just as fast as it had appeared. Before Seraphine could even react, he yanked her tight against his broad chest with undeniable strength.

A startled little gasp slipped out of her as his powerful arm locked around her waist, pulling her so close that his face hovered just inches away.

Heat flooded through Seraphine’s body in a wild rush, and her heartbeat turned frantic and uneven.

”Bloodfang,” she warned, fighting to keep her voice steady even as desire and nervousness tangled up inside her. ”Behave yourself. I’m not Marsha.”

”You are Sera,” he growled back, his voice dropping even lower and rougher, vibrating with raw need.

His grip stayed firm and unyielding around her slim waist. A deep, hungry groan rumbled out of him as he buried his face against the sensitive skin of her neck, breathing her in like she was the only thing that mattered in the entire world. ”Mate with me and let me take away all your pain.”

Seraphine’s eyes widened in shock, her pulse thundering so hard she could feel it in her throat.

Just the thought of it made her stomach flip with a dizzying mix of nerves and forbidden excitement.

Bloodfang was intimidating even in Voren’s body, carrying an overwhelming storm of raw power that sometimes left her honestly wondering if she could even handle everything he brought.

Wolves were possessive by nature, Marsha could be a handful, but Bloodfang was on another level entirely.

”You’re crazy,” she breathed, planting both palms firmly against his solid chest and pushing with everything she had. It did absolutely nothing.

His arm only tightened around her waist, holding her like she weighed nothing at all, as impossible to move as a mountain.

”Bloodfang, let me go. I can’t breathe,” she protested, though her body was already betraying her with waves of heat.

A raspy chuckle vibrated deep in his chest, full of pure masculine satisfaction. ”Ha.” His pitch-black eyes gleamed as he looked at her. ”You’re smitten. I knew you’d love me more than my human.”

The sheer confidence in his voice left Seraphine speechless as she stared at him in total disbelief, a hot flush of embarrassment rushing into her cheeks.

”You’re wrong, Bloodfang,” she said, her expression softening with genuine tenderness. ”I love you because you’re Voren’s wolf. You’re a huge part of him.” She reached out and gently poked his chest. ”But Voren will always come first for me.”

For the first time, Bloodfang actually loosened his iron grip just enough for her to draw a full, grateful breath.

Those intense black eyes stayed locked on her face, searching desperately for any hint that she might be lying to him.

After several long seconds, he let out a dramatic huff, his face twisting with clear disappointment. ”Marsha was right. You both are boring.”

Seraphine rolled her eyes, fighting back a smile despite everything. ”Whatever.” Arguing with him about that would get her absolutely nowhere, so she steered the conversation back to the real reason she’d wanted to speak with him, her voice turning serious and heartfelt.

”You injured those warriors. I need you to promise me you won’t do anything like that again.”

The playful spark vanished from Bloodfang’s face in an instant. His head slowly dropped, and for someone so overwhelmingly terrifying, he suddenly looked genuinely guilty and almost vulnerable. Even his rough voice softened.

”Without you around, everything feels so damn boring.” His fingers tightened slightly against her waist. ”I get angry so fast, I can wipe out an entire army when my human doesn’t get any release.”

Seraphine nearly choked on her own breath. Only Bloodfang could drop something that horrifying so casually, like he was talking about breakfast.

Still, Seraphine held it together and met his gaze with steady determination. ”That has to change.” She kept her tone gentle but firm. ”There’s this thing called discipline. You can’t always get exactly what you want, but you have to do what’s right, and that’s what discipline means.”

Bloodfang went unusually quiet, actually listening to her. Encouraged, Seraphine kept going, her blue eyes softening with compassion.

”Whether Voren gets a release or not, you can’t keep hurting his warriors. Those men are loyal to him. They train hard every single day to protect this pack. They trust him completely. And they have families too, parents, spouses, children.”

She let the weight of those words sink in. ”If something happened to them, all those people would be devastated. You can unleash that side of yourself on enemies during war, but not on the people we love. Not on the ones we call family.”

She carefully lifted her hand and pressed it gently against his cheek, her fingers brushing lightly over his skin with quiet affection.

Bloodfang stared at her in complete silence. No teasing, no arrogance, no wild comments. Just a heavy, charged stillness filled the room.

Then, without warning, he leaned in even closer. Seraphine froze, every muscle in her body going tight as her heart leaped straight into her throat.

Knowing Bloodfang, she was absolutely sure he was about to do something completely outrageous again. But what he did next left her completely stunned, freezing her in place with pure shock.
