Alpha's Regret: The Seventh Time was Forever

Chapter 118: Chapter 118 – I want to know what he has to say

Seraphine had never been afraid of Voren, not in the beginning and certainly not now, so there was no real reason for hesitation as she returned to her chair, reached for her phone, and began the quiet chain of calls that would soon send shockwaves through people who believed their power was untouchable.

”Okay,” she said in a calm, almost casual tone, even though the air in the room carried a tight tension that refused to loosen, and then she tapped the first name on her contact list before raising the phone to her ear.

The call connected after only a few rings, and the man on the other end answered with polite warmth that suggested both respect and curiosity.

”Miss Walker, how are you feeling today?”

Seraphine leaned back slightly in her seat while resting her elbow against the armrest, her expression steady as she responded in a relaxed voice that concealed the storm she was about to unleash.

”Much better, Mark, thanks for asking, but I need a favor.”

Mark did not even pause before replying, his voice carrying the eager confidence of someone who believed supporting her would always bring rewards.

”Anything, Miss Walker, but have you started the company yet?”

Seraphine tapped the speaker button so everyone in the room could hear the conversation clearly, then rested the phone on the table in front of her while answering in the same calm, even tone.

”I’m still working on the venue, and that should be settled in a few days,” she explained patiently, before continuing with the part that mattered most. ”Mark, I want you to pull out your investment from Sanders Enterprise and Thorne International because things are about to go down.”

The silence that followed on the other end of the line lasted only a moment, but it carried the weight of someone suddenly realizing that a quiet warning had just saved him from walking straight into disaster.

Mark’s voice returned with a sharp edge of panic that he tried and failed to hide.

”Thank you for telling me,” he said quickly, the sincerity in his tone leaving no room for doubt. ”I will begin the process immediately.”

Seraphine ended the call without ceremony, already dialing the next number before the phone even left her hand, her movements smooth and confident as though she had been preparing for this moment for far longer than anyone realized.

The second call connected almost instantly. ”Gordon, I’m fine, thank you,” she said before he could ask the question she already knew was coming. ”I will be in your office soon to bring the revised contract, but there’s something you must do before I get there.”

On the other side of the call, Gordon responded with a burst of enthusiasm that sounded almost excited.

”Anything.”

Seraphine repeated the same warning she had given Mark, explaining in careful detail that he needed to withdraw his investments from both Sanders Enterprise and Thorne International immediately if he wanted to avoid being dragged into the financial collapse that was already beginning to take shape.

When that call ended, she moved on to the next one without hesitation, then another, and another.

Every single person who had invested in her upcoming company received the same message, the same warning delivered in the same calm tone that gave away nothing about the ruthless strategy unfolding behind her quiet composure.

Across the room, Voren sat with his laptop open, his eyes locked on the rapid flow of messages racing through the stock market chat boards while numbers flickered across the screen in a chaotic cascade that grew more alarming with every passing minute.

Gray.

Riven.

Their companies were collapsing so quickly that even experienced traders in the chatrooms sounded confused and panicked, their frantic messages asking questions that no one seemed able to answer.

Voren leaned forward slightly, staring at the screen with a mixture of amazement and disbelief as the damage spread faster than he had imagined.

If only they had listened to him. The situation unfolding before his eyes matched almost every prediction he had made about their reckless greed in trying to avoid punishment for their attack on Seraphine, yet there was one element he never expected to see.

Her, Seraphine. He had assumed she might retaliate by attacking their servers the same way she once attacked his, tearing through their digital security like a storm tearing through glass, but instead she had chosen something far more brutal and far more effective.

She was using the investors. One phone call after another, one quiet warning after another.

And with each call, the financial foundation supporting those two companies was being pulled away piece by piece until the entire structure began collapsing under its own weight.

The chat boards continued filling with frantic messages from Gray and Riven’s people who were trying to calm the market, but every attempt sounded desperate and hollow, as if they were shouting into a hurricane that had already swallowed the shore.

Voren leaned back slowly while running a hand through his hair, his mind racing as the reality of the situation settled over him.

How could Ravyn have spent so much time around Seraphine without realizing how dangerous she truly was?

Right now she was destroying giants of the financial world without lifting a weapon, without hacking a server, without even leaving her seat.

All it took was a phone, and people who trusted her judgment more than they trusted the market.

The soft sound of a ringing phone suddenly cut through the quiet tension in the room.

Voren glanced down at his own device lying beside the laptop, and the moment he saw the name flashing across the screen, his entire body stiffened.

Ravyn.

For a second he considered ignoring the call completely, because he already knew why Ravyn was calling and he had no interest in stepping into the middle of that conversation.

Before he could slide the phone aside, Seraphine’s voice stopped him.

”Answer the phone,” she said calmly.

Her tone carried an eerie steadiness, but the fierce storm burning behind her eyes made it clear that this was not a suggestion. ”I want to know what he has to say.”
