Alpha's Regret: The Seventh Time was Forever

Chapter 103: Chapter 103 – Let’s get ready for her funeral

Gray and Riven were still riding the high from their little scheme, both of them leaning back in their chairs with wide, satisfied grins plastered across their faces when the waiter finally came back.

The man looked tense, almost like his nerves had been stretched too tight, yet he still forced himself to walk over to their table.

”She drank it,” the waiter said quietly, his voice trembling with excitement and fear at the same time. ”My money.”

Riven didn’t even hesitate. He reached into his wallet, pulled out a thick wad of cash, and stuffed it into the waiter’s hands without bothering to count the bills. The movement came with a smug smile, the kind that carried a sense of victory.

”I hope nobody saw anything,” Riven said under his breath, his eyes narrowing as he studied the man in front of him.

The waiter’s throat tightened instantly.

Voren Ashkael had seen him.

The memory alone made his stomach twist into a tight knot, and the weight of the cash in his hand suddenly felt like something far heavier than paper. Panic flickered across his face, though he tried his best to keep it hidden.

”No, no,” he said quickly, shaking his head in a rush as he clutched the money. ”Nobody saw.”

Without waiting another second, he turned and hurried away from their table, his steps almost stumbling over themselves as he made his escape. Every instinct inside him screamed that he needed to get out before things turned ugly, because once chaos began in a place like this, nobody ever walked away clean.

Back at the table, Gray leaned back in his chair with a satisfied breath.

”We taught that bitch a lesson,” he said with cold approval, his voice heavy with cruel satisfaction. ”In her next life, she’ll know where she belongs.”

Riven nodded immediately, his expression just as vicious.

”Ravyn would be proud of us,” he added with a low chuckle. ”That woman has caused him nothing but trouble since she showed up, and now she’s finally getting what she deserves.”

Gray raised his glass in mock celebration. ”Let’s get ready for her funeral.”

For a brief moment, everything around them felt normal, the music still playing in the background and the low hum of conversation filling the club, yet that sense of calm didn’t last long.

A sudden shout ripped through the room.

”Someone was poisoned right here in this club?” a voice yelled, loud and panicked enough to turn several heads in the crowd.

Gray and Riven stiffened immediately.

The man speaking was Justin Clark, a human who usually kept to himself and rarely spoke to anyone unless it was absolutely necessary. The fact that he was raising his voice now made it painfully clear just how shaken he was.

”Then this place isn’t safe anymore,” Justin continued, his voice climbing higher with fear. ”If people can get poisoned in a club like this, what does that say about security?”

Murmurs began spreading through the room like wildfire. ”I hope our chairman handles this,” Justin added with a frustrated shake of his head. ”Otherwise this club shouldn’t even stay open.”

The moment those words reached Gray and Riven’s ears, the smug smiles that had been sitting comfortably on their faces vanished instantly.

Their stomachs dropped. If Voren found out what they had done, they wouldn’t just be in trouble.

They would be finished.

Gray leaned closer to Riven, his voice low and tight. ”Pretend you know nothing,” he muttered under his breath. ”Let’s get out of here.”

Riven nodded without hesitation, the tension in his shoulders suddenly obvious as both men stood up from their seats.

They moved through the room with forced calm, greeting a few familiar faces here and there so nobody would suspect anything strange, yet every step toward the exit felt heavier than the last.

They were only a few feet away from the door when the voice they had been dreading exploded behind them.

”Stop!” The word slammed through the air like thunder. Gray and Riven froze immediately.

Only an Alpha werewolf could recognize that kind of authority in another Alpha’s voice, even in the middle of a crowded place full of humans who had no idea what they were standing next to.

Riven’s eyes flickered toward Gray for half a second. ”Run,” he murmured, the two men bolted instantly.

They took off toward the exit with everything they had, their feet pounding against the floor as adrenaline surged through their veins, pushing down anything that stood in their way, yet they barely made it halfway across the room before disaster struck.

Something smashed into the back of their heads. Glass exploded, bright liquid splashed everywhere as bottles shattered against them, spraying the floor with streaks of amber, red, and gold.

The entire room gasped, the mess chaotic than anyone ever witnessed.

Voren stood several feet away with another bottle already in his hand, his expression cold and terrifyingly focused as he grabbed more liquor bottles from a nearby shelf and hurled them with terrifying accuracy.

Each throw landed perfectly, each impact sent more glass and alcohol exploding across the floor.

Within seconds, both Gray and Riven collapsed in a heap near the exit, completely unconscious as the last shattered bottle rolled across the ground.

The mess around them looked like a battlefield made of broken glass and spilled liquor, yet Voren didn’t care in the slightest.

He walked straight through the chaos, ignoring the crunch of glass beneath his boots, he grabbed one of the men by the leg and began dragging him across the floor like dead weight before grabbing the other.

The entire room had gone silent, and nobody dared interfere.

”Should we call a doctor?” Gordon asked cautiously from the side, clearly unsure how far this situation was going to go.

Voren lifted one hand without even turning his head. The gesture alone was enough to silence the entire room.

”I’ll handle it,” he said flatly. ”Just make sure Seraphine doesn’t hear anything about this.” Everyone exchanged quick glances.

They didn’t fully understand why that request mattered so much, yet nobody questioned it. Most of them simply assumed Voren’s pride had taken a serious hit after learning that someone had been poisoned in his club, and the idea alone was enough to make the atmosphere feel tense.

One by one, heads nodded in agreement. By the time Voren dragged the two unconscious men out of sight, the tension in the room slowly began to settle.

Only seconds later, Leon walked back into the area with Seraphine beside him.

”You feeling better now?” Mark asked her, concern written across his face.

Seraphine barely heard him. Her attention had already locked onto the massive mess covering the floor, her brows pulling together as she took in the broken glass, the spilled liquor, and the cleaners rushing in with towels and mops.

”What happened here?” she asked slowly.

Mark waved his hand dismissively as if the entire thing meant nothing.

”Just a couple of idiots who couldn’t handle their alcohol,” he said casually. ”They got into a fight and made a mess.”

Leon didn’t bother adding anything. Instead, he turned toward Seraphine and crouched slightly before scooping her into his arms in one smooth motion.

”I’m carrying you,” he said firmly, his tone leaving absolutely no room for arguments.

Seraphine blinked in surprise but didn’t protest as he carefully stepped through the scattered glass pieces on the floor, making sure his footing stayed steady while the cleaners hurried around them.

Within seconds, he was already heading toward the exit with her in his arms.

Not long after they left, Ravyn arrived.

His eyes immediately landed on Leon walking away with Seraphine, and something strange tightened in his chest when he saw her being carried like that.

The feeling was unfamiliar enough to make him pause for a moment. Still, he forced the thought aside. ”Where’s Voren?” Ravyn asked as he approached Mark.

Mark pointed down the hallway. ”He went that way.”

Ravyn followed the direction immediately. Deep down, he already had a terrible suspicion about what he was going to find, and when he reached Voren, the scene waiting for him confirmed every single one of those thoughts.
