Rebirth: A Cinderella's Counterattack

Chapter 1730: Chapter 1710:

When they returned that night, they saw Fu Qing with bandages wrapped around his eyes and his fingers also bandaged up, leaving them a bit dumbfounded.

Seeing the two of them, the old man sighed, ”He was wrong, and I apologize on his behalf. He shouldn’t have meddled with your things, so any punishment he receives is deserved. Please don’t blame him.”

Luo Qianqian and He Wenyu glanced at each other, speechless. They hadn’t intended to blame anyone, but once the old man spoke, they couldn’t just ignore it.

”Teacher, is Senior Brother okay?” He Wenyu pondered for a moment before asking.

The old man shook his head lightly, ”It’s nothing serious, but suffering is inevitable. It’s actually good, as it teaches him that ’there is a sequence in learning, and each field has its expertise.’ In areas he isn’t skilled in, he needs to be humble and seek guidance. Recklessly probing into things will only result in hurting himself.”

Luo Qianqian’s mouth opened in slight surprise. Somehow, the old man’s words made sense? Is this the wisdom gained from more years of living?

”Every industry has its secrets, and he wouldn’t uncover them even if he asked. But it’s normal to get hurt in the process of exploration. Achieving a truth without experiencing failure is impossible,” the old man continued.

He Wenyu’s mouth also dropped open, feeling like these words really made a lot of sense, compelling her to agree.

”I’ll go make something to eat.” He Wenyu sighed, then silently handed over what she was holding to Luo Qianqian. It was just snacks they had been given by their mothers earlier, though they’d already eaten their fill. The sincere looks from the two moms made it hard to refuse, so they decided to bring them back as a midnight snack.

However, sharing wasn’t really an option. The ones He Wenyu made were fine, but the ones mom made were rare treats she wasn’t willing to give away.

So even though the old man stared intently at the box, Luo Qianqian pretended not to notice, carrying the two boxes inside without the slightest hesitation.

The old man immediately smacked Fu Qing’s leg hard: ”Damn it...”

Fu Qing: ”...” You’re frustrated, fine, but why hit me? You should hit yourself!!!

He couldn’t see anything now, but perhaps because one of his senses was temporarily unusable, his other senses became surprisingly sharp.

Hearing He Wenyu and Luo Qianqian’s footsteps moving away, Fu Qing hurriedly asked, ”What did they bring back? Smells so good... and sweet.”

The old man unceremoniously smacked his leg again, ”You ask me, who do I ask!” His tone full of discontent, he had no intention of asking them at all! He genuinely felt aggrieved as their teacher!

The worst part was, he felt that apart from the food brought back on the first day, he hadn’t tasted a single bite of any subsequent dishes they brought back afterward...

Do they have to be so stingy? It’s just a couple of bites of food!

If it weren’t for the aroma wafting from the kitchen at this moment, they didn’t know how long they’d stay upset.

Soon, He Wenyu came out with a pot of soup. Although it was made from a soup packet—instant soup—it was something to start with: ”Drink it first; the rest is in the pot and will take a while.”

”...Okay.” Though feeling disgruntled about not getting the food the two brought back, the old man wouldn’t turn down delicious food.

Looking at the big bowl of soup and a small one, he silently served a bowl of soup into Fu Qing’s hands, handing him a spoon with the other hand: ”Drink up, I’m not feeding you.”

Fu Qing: ”...” Like I’d need you to feed me!

Although he bumped it against his face twice and missed the soup three times, he eventually found the optimal angle and started enjoying the meal.

The old man silently watched as he spilled two spoonfuls of soup on his clothes, not intending to inform him.

Soon, He Wenyu re-entered the kitchen and returned shortly with a plate of small red bean buns and another of small char siu buns.

No need to guess; they were frozen products, as they likely didn’t have time to wrap these themselves.

She also brought along a piece of steamed cake sprinkled with sugar.

Seeing these small items, the old man was momentarily stunned but started serving Fu Qing two buns before helping himself, indicating his care for Fu Qing. However, after finishing one, wanting seconds? Sorry, there’s no more...

Here, Fu Qing could only get a taste. Want more? Only if there’s plenty made.

And even if there was plenty, given his current state, there’s no way Fu Qing could compete for it; he couldn’t see a thing, what could he snatch?

He Wenyu watched the old man’s actions with silent exasperation—is it really necessary? It’s just two bites of food.

Though at least he didn’t give Fu Qing nothing at all, which was rare and commendable, wasn’t it?

If someone truly intended to hoard, they’d polish it off without caring about others.

But that wasn’t her concern. She silently returned to her room for cultivation.

”Were you so perfunctory today?” Luo Qianqian chuckled as He Wenyu came back.

Smelling the aroma, she knew what He Wenyu made, and it was obviously quite perfunctory.

Instant soup packets and frozen products, not even a touch of homemade stuff, Luo Qianqian raised an eyebrow.

”In that state, it’s better to avoid irritants; there’s no doctor’s instructions here,” He Wenyu sighed, still confused by these two people’s thoughts—they haven’t forgotten to eat, even in this condition? And the kitchen, which was in an appalling state.

”And an entire can of vegetable oil turning into chili oil has me really perplexed...” He Wenyu’s face was filled with despair.

If it were just a little, it’d be fine, but it was a whole can, and that stuff shouldn’t be consumed excessively.

”Make mala hotpot and add it as needed,” Luo Qianqian rolled her eyes—wasn’t that the simplest solution?

Why not hotpot? Hotpot’s too much work.

Mala hot pot is much simpler.

”Shall we invite classmates over tomorrow morning to help finish it? It’s quite flavorful, but we’d need a lot of sesame sauce too,” He Wenyu suggested.

After all, classmates had helped a lot before, hadn’t they?

Luo Qianqian nodded approvingly: ”And tomato sauce, in case someone doesn’t eat spicy.”

”You sure have a lot of stock....” He Wenyu rolled her eyes, and after the two quietly exchanged supplies in the room, they outlined the Yellow Class’s plan.

As for their classmates from the Yellow Class, they were all for it, even Ji Lei agreed right away and wanted to pack some to go...

”...” The only one left feeling quite woeful is Fu Qing.
