Rebirth: A Cinderella's Counterattack

Chapter 1399: Chapter 1379: Luo Xinyue, Unwelcome

Luo Xisi appeared first, looking at Luo Xinyue returning, he simply gave him a deep hug, the words they wanted to say were all contained in that embrace.

”Qhianqhian, you go to grandpa’s side, he dotes on you, I’ll go to grandma’s side.” Luo Shufan knew that grandpa and grandma were not together, and was helpless. He turned to look at Elvis: ”You follow dad, with you there, the elderly won’t be too hard on dad.”

Luo Qianqian quietly sneaked to grandpa’s courtyard, only to see grandpa holding a brush soaked in hair dye, dyeing his beard and hair. Her eyes widened suddenly: ”Grandpa, what are you doing?”

Old Master Luo’s hand shook, successfully drawing a line on his face...

”You little rabbit... Hmm? Qhianqhian...” Old Master Luo’s eyes, which were about to glare, quickly subsided, but he soon snorted and refused to look at Luo Qianqian.

”Grandpa...” Luo Qianqian pouted sweetly as she came over, taking the brush from the old man’s hand with utmost obedience: ”How can we trouble grandpa with such a thing? Leave it to me, I’ll make sure grandpa looks wise and handsome, even more dashing than uncle.”

”Hmph.”

Though Old Master Luo was mad, he didn’t wrestle with Luo Qianqian, sitting quietly and letting her fiddle with his beard and hair.

”Grandpa, even if you’re mad at brother, you can’t be mad at me.”

”Why’s that?”

”You still have four grandsons apart from brother, but if you don’t want me, there’s no second granddaughter.”

”Hmph.”

”Also, aren’t we all concerned about your well-being? As people get older, high blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol are common. If you get too excited and something happens, like a stroke or heart attack, aren’t we to blame?”

”Hmph.”

Hearing the ’hmph’ sound soften, Luo Qianqian’s hands became more nimble as she dyed Old Master Luo’s hair and beard, her face full of playful smiles as she got closer and closer.

”Moreover, aren’t we worried about grandma too? A mother’s love for her children is intense. If she becomes overjoyed, what then? Wouldn’t that make dad look unfilial? Dad is only concerned about both of you, and he’s at ease with brother and me taking care of you.”

”Is that a saying? Don’t misuse it!”

”Yes, yes, you’re learned and talented, I must learn from you! Please don’t get mad at me. If you’re mad, I’ll hand you the broom later so you can hit dad, and if need be, I’ll take the feather duster and apologize to dad.”

”He wouldn’t dare!”

”Yes, yes, dad listens to you the most. He often tells me about the guidance he received from grandpa, care from grandma, love from mom, and admiration from brother, all of which comfort him during the toughest times. He doesn’t even think of me, leaving me to cry under the covers...”

”He wouldn’t know about you back then, you were just a tiny cell.”

”Grandpa, that’s not fair, I’m giving you a makeover, and you say that?”

”Hmph, I’m stating facts.”

Their bickering successfully left Luo Xisi speechless outside. As expected, no matter how angry the Old Master was, as long as Little Qianqian comforted him, he would soon calm down. Better head over to the old lady’s side to help.

Feels like being a firefighter, running all over, busy extinguishing fires for both elderly ones.

”It’s good that you’re back, just being back is better than anything...” Yue Tingyu looked at her still tall son, the years adding more charm, leaving her overwhelmed with emotions.

As long as he was alive, nothing else mattered.

Though she never really believed her son was gone, seeing the living child in front made her tear up.

Luo Shufan quietly handed over tissues, unlike Luo Qianqian who could make people laugh in such moments.

But it wasn’t just him thinking of Luo Qianqian, even Yue Tingyu’s mind drifted to when Luo Qianqian first arrived at the Luo Family, tiny but protecting her brother. If she hadn’t been bullied before, how would she know to protect her family?

It was all due to her son. If these two had grown up in a happy family with both parents, Little Xiao Qianqian wouldn’t have reacted that way.

She should be the Little Princess, their Luo family’s only Little Princess.

A deeply delayed hug of over twenty years, Luo Xinyue embraced his mother tightly, tears could not help but fall.

”Qianqian is a good child,” Yue Tingyu said.

Understanding what Yue Tingyu meant, Luo Xinyue nodded vigorously: ”I know, mom, I know.”

”Ahem...” Luo Qianqian’s voice came from outside, waving something that cut through the air.

Yue Tingyu instinctively let go of Luo Xinyue. Compared to her son, the granddaughter was more delightful.

Luo Shufan came out with a puzzled expression, seeing Luo Qianqian holding a new feather duster, confused: ”What are you doing?”

”Dad’s been gone so long, it worried grandpa and grandma.” Luo Qianqian raised the feather duster to her brother: ”So, use it to vent? I swore to tear to pieces whoever took my brother away, but turns out it was the elders, can’t get mad... So, grandma, come, give dad a few whacks to help me vent.” Luo Qianqian handed the feather duster dutifully to Yue Tingyu: ”This is the most expensive there is, not sure how painful it is, haven’t tried it.”

...Biological child.

Luo Xinyue grudgingly accepted, this little girl is really...

Yue Tingyu smiled through her tears, looking at Luo Qianqian and the feather duster, taking it with a mischievous glint in her eyes, she waved it a few times: ”How about grandma gives you the power to hit?”

”Grandma, are you siding with me or dad?” Luo Qianqian pouted, jealousy spreading in the courtyard. ”Hitting dad makes me a brat, that’s unfilial, are you wanting to see us fight? Let brother put on a show for you.”

Saying this, she grabbed the feather duster and tossed it to Luo Shufan, making a cheer sign: ”Go on, I’ll cheer for you, and apply ointment later.”

Luo Shufan laughed helplessly, when did he ever intend to hit anyone?

”Brother doesn’t dare? Then let’s go find grandpa.” Luo Qianqian chuckled, pulling out two ropes, winking proudly: ”Let’s strap the feather duster and apologize.”

Yue Tingyu couldn’t help but laugh, this child was clearly here to help Luo Xinyue out.

Doesn’t she realize, that’s her own son, she’d never truly make it hard for him?
