Rebirth: A Cinderella's Counterattack

Chapter 799: Chapter 779: Is Senior Brother Coming Back?

Finally, it was dinner time, and Qhianqhian looked excited, then glanced at Jimo Kong, who directly abandoned the chopsticks and started grabbing with his hands, also looking surprised.

”Let me indulge just this once!” Old Master Jimo said with determination on his face. ”I want to eat my fill!”

Qhianqhian opened her mouth, wanting to say that it’s fine to eat some crab since it’s not like squid or oysters...

But seeing Jimo Cheng seriously peeling the shells, she remained silent. After all, her grandpa had to eat vegetables for a month; he seemed a bit more pitiful...

At this moment, the ’pitiful’ Old Master Luo was enjoying shrimp and crab meat porridge, eating vegetables made with various meat as an ingredient. Although there was no sign of meat, the taste was filled with it.

Wondering where the meat is? The five pounds Luo Baozi gained recently would tell you it’s all in her stomach.

Qhianqhian was happily eating, her face full of contentment, when Old Master Jimo spoke up: ”By the way, Jin Yuee, do you have time after class tomorrow?”

”Huh? Tomorrow, let me think...” Qhianqhian held a crab in both hands, deep in thought, then looked towards Jimo Cheng for help: ”Senior, do I have any classes tomorrow?”

Jimo Cheng shook his head helplessly, thinking for a moment: ”Two in the morning, one in the afternoon, that’s it.”

Qhianqhian thought carefully, and indeed it seemed so, had the cold frozen her brain? So much so that she couldn’t even remember this?

Looking calmly at Old Master Jimo: ”I do, what’s up, Grandpa Kong?”

”Tomorrow, let your senior bring you back in the afternoon. Your elder brother is arriving then.” Old Master Jimo nodded at this, relieved. He didn’t want his disciple to skip class, and no class meant he could properly welcome his eldest disciple.

”Looks like it’s going to snow,” Jimo Cheng said calmly.

Old Master Jimo laughed after hearing this: ”Indeed, quickly peel the shell, why are you daydreaming?” Didn’t you see your grandpa’s bowl is already empty? Even though he’s eating too, a full bowl still gives a sense of safety.

Jimo Cheng looked speechlessly at his grandpa, ”Can’t you behave properly for once? Is that how you treat your adorable grandson?”

Qhianqhian silently ate her crab, not speaking.

But in her mind, she was calculating, elder brother is coming back? Leaving aside the matter of him giving a meeting gift, what should she wear to meet him? And what should she gift him? If talking about senior brother, he could give a painting, but as for her? It seems she hasn’t learned anything yet...

Nibbling on a crab claw, she fell into deep thought.

Looking at Qhianqhian, Jimo Cheng found it amusing; was she nervous?

Because of all these thoughts, Qhianqhian didn’t eat much before feeling full, always appearing lost in thought.

It wasn’t until she got into the car, looking at Jimo Cheng in the front passenger seat and Jimo Kong beside her, that she was startled: ”Huh? Grandpa Kong came specifically to see me off? Isn’t that too much trouble?”

Jimo Kong was speechless, wondering if this child’s brain was broken. They had agreed she’d accompany him to gamble stones tonight, had she completely forgotten within such a short time?

Jimo Cheng chuckled softly in the front seat, hiding his mouth but his face showed affection.

Qhianqhian blinked, carefully recalling what just happened, and after thinking for a long time she suddenly remembered: ”Oh right, right, I remember now... hehe...” She flashed a silly smile, hoping to get away with it.

”Are you thinking about what gift to ask from your elder brother?” Jimo Kong looked at Qhianqhian’s embarrassed face, shaking his head helplessly: ”Don’t worry, that boy won’t forget about you.”

Qhianqhian touched her nose, thinking about what she should gift her elder brother instead?

But to keep it a surprise, it’s better not to say.

At the venue, Qhianqhian watched as Old Master Jimo continued his friendly banter with others and silently followed Jimo Cheng, selectively tuning out. Maintaining Old Master Jimo’s image in their hearts took some effort indeed.

Yet Old Master Jimo didn’t forget to call them over: ”...Come, Jin Nian, Jin Yuee, let Grandpa Zhao have a look. Did he actually doubt the Jimo Family’s taste?”

Unknown what was said, Old Master Jimo directly named them: ”This is my grandson, and this is the future granddaughter-in-law I’ve chosen, how about that?”

”But having good taste in people doesn’t necessarily mean good luck in gambling,” Grandpa Zhao quickly retorted, then looked at Qhianqhian, appearing quite surprised: ”Eh? Isn’t this Old Man Luo’s precious granddaughter?”

”Hey, you know Old Man Luo?” Old Master Jimo immediately got excited.

”Of course, that old chess addict, always looking for someone to play with.” Grandpa Zhao laughed heartily: ”Last time I went to visit Old Man Tu and ran into him. I actually won!!! That’s how we got acquainted, not bad, we even set up a chess match.”

”And you, a chess addict, have the nerve to talk?” Old Master Jimo shook his head silently.

Qhianqhian was silent for a moment, then smiled and bowed slightly: ”Hello Grandpa Zhao, thank you for taking care of my grandpa.”

”This kid is quite polite, haha. When we played chess, your grandpa praised you, saying you’re smart, sensible, filial, and pretty. I saw your photo then, and now seeing you in person, isn’t it true? Much prettier than the photo... Eh, my grandson is also not bad, studying in Melbourne now...”

”Hey, hey, hey, what do you mean? Digging around my grandson in my face?” Old Master Jimo immediately jumped in.

Jimo Cheng also stood silently in front of Qhianqhian, looking at Grandpa Zhao...

Grandpa Zhao was at a loss for words; how had he forgotten just now Jimo Old Man introduced his grandson and granddaughter-in-law?

Qhianqhian couldn’t help but chuckle; why did it feel like other older folks were very concerned about their children’s romance issues? Unlike her own grandpa, who was only interested in gossip, without any intent to introduce anyone.

But thinking about it, doesn’t Uncle also...?

Perhaps it’s because of Dad’s matters? Thinking of Dad, Qhianqhian’s face held a warmth and smile; she had a dad again, something she never dared to imagine before.

Watching Old Master Jimo puffing his cheeks and glaring, Qhianqhian gently tugged at his sleeve: ”Grandpa Kong, Grandpa Zhao was just joking, you took it so seriously.”

Then she turned to Grandpa Zhao, bowing slightly: ”Grandpa Zhao, what’s between brother and me was decided by the grandpas. So please don’t joke about it again, okay? Otherwise, not only Grandpa Kong and brother, but I would also be unhappy.”

Old Master Jimo agreed with a look of approval, though he couldn’t help but think, having a granddaughter is really wonderful after all...

Jimo Cheng stood by, gazing at Qhianqhian with a gentle expression.

He understood that he and Qhianqhian were still developing their feelings. For Qhianqhian to say such words proved she acknowledged what the grandpas had set, and he felt relieved.
