System: Build My Own Territory

Chapter 168: Chapter 137: Succubus (5K)_2

The young man’s words were full of respectful humility, ”Hello, Master Lynn. I am Zod Brown, Grayson’s brother, and also a Slave Merchant!”

Lynn nodded.

Zod smiled slightly, ”Master Lynn truly possesses extraordinary presence; to become the lord of such a large territory at such a young age, you are destined to be a great figure in the future!”

Listening to Zod’s veiled flattery, Lynn couldn’t help but smile.

”Mr. Zod, you overpraise me; it’s Mr. Zod who is truly exceptional among his peers, establishing his own slave trading route at just sixteen years old. It seems Mr. Zod is bound to take the position of Patriarch of the Brown Clan?”

”In my opinion, compared to Grayson and Alan, Mr. Zod is the most suitable choice!”

Zod’s elegant demeanor stiffened slightly.

He just remembered the young lord in front of him had built up this territory step by step with his own prowess.

He did not inherit this rapidly developed land!

He had underestimated the other party a little.

Zod’s words carried a hint of apology, ”Sorry, Master Lynn. I apologize for my presumptuousness.”

Lynn smiled indifferently, ”Mr. Zod, there’s no need for pleasantries.”

”Since you claim to be a merchant, just directly tell me about the goods you bring.”

Zod nodded, ”Master Lynn, I bring you three hundred slaves!”

In the midst of the conversation.

Zod started walking towards the clearing in front of the village.

Lynn gazed into the distance, noticing a group of figures on a clearing away.

Due to the distance, he hadn’t paid attention to them on his way here.

Taking a glance at the slaves, their faces were sunken, lips chapped, and eyes full of emptiness.

Some of the slaves even curled up instinctively upon seeing Zod and Lynn, trembling uncontrollably.

Many of the slaves’ bodies were covered with bloody, scarred wounds from being whipped with thorny lashes.

Lynn casually glanced, about to speak.

A shouted voice burst from the crowd of slaves, ”She’s dead, she’s dead!”

The slaves’ eyes searched among the crowd.

Finally, they settled on a middle-aged woman lying on the ground.

The middle-aged woman’s face was pale, her eyes wide open, staring straight at the sky above.

No longer breathing.

Though she seemed somewhat young, her body was emaciated, devoid of any vitality.

The remaining slaves were not much different from her.

Clearly, these slaves hadn’t eaten for a long time.

Despite a fellow companion’s death, the slaves showed no fear or panic.

Having grown accustomed to such scenes, they were already numbed.

Lynn spoke calmly, ”Where are they from?”

Beside Lynn, Zod quickly explained, ”A small town in the Southern Empire...”

”Master Lynn, don’t worry; they just haven’t eaten for several days.”

”I guarantee that as long as they have food, they will be lively and work energetically for you.”

Lynn’s gaze swept over the slaves.

From the series of written panels, Lynn saw no introduction of any contagious diseases.

Lynn nodded and said, ”The price for these slaves?”

Hearing Master Lynn ask for the price, Zod didn’t hesitate, ”Three shillings each!”

If it had been a month ago, when these slaves first arrived at the Karedi Empire.

Their condition would have commanded a price of four shillings or even five shillings.

But now.

The delay was too long, these slaves had become emaciated, with signs of starvation.

If not sold quickly, this slave transport venture could end in complete loss!

Now, even if the price was three shillings, he had to sell!

Lynn scanned the area again, confirming, ”No problem, we’ll go with your price.”

Zod’s face couldn’t hide a trace of happiness.

Grayson was indeed right.

As long as they’re slaves and not diseased.

No matter how poor their condition, the lord before him would purchase them.

Lynn’s voice continued, ”Eighteen hundred pounds of fine salt, or forty-five Gold Pounds, you choose.”

Zod’s eyebrows shot up sharply, ”Fine salt, Master Lynn, I want fine salt!”

Grayson truly was a good brother!

Master Lynn indeed had fine salt!

Moreover, Zod calculated in his mind.

Master Lynn was actually giving him the conversion at the initial market price of six pence.

This generosity was remarkable, wasn’t it?

No.

This wasn’t generosity.

It was disregard.

Lynn nodded, ”Of course.”

Almost without Lynn needing to give instructions, George stepped forward with a few villagers to fetch the fine salt from the warehouse.

Eighteen hundred pounds of fine salt, not worth more than half a cartload.

After a short moment.

The fine salt was all loaded.

Seeing the gradually dimming sky.

Zod glanced at Red beside Lynn, noting Lynn had no intention of dismissing him.

Zod had to directly speak to Lynn, ”Master Lynn, I know a friend, also a Slave Merchant, but his slaves are somewhat special.”

”I wonder if you might be interested...”

Eyeing Zod’s pale face, Lynn curiously asked, ”How special?”

Zod revealed a smile, ”Succubus!”

Listening to Zod mention those two words, Lynn’s brow furrowed involuntarily.

Lynn had thought such beings were merely legends.

Turns out, such a peculiar race really exists!

However, Lynn gave it a thought and felt that it was not unusual.
