Brand New Life Online: Rise Of The Goddess Of Harvest

Elayne’s golden-green aura flared brighter. Her summoned primordial children roared in defiance—the Hecatoncheires hurled boulders the size of hills, crushing tanks into twisted scrap; Titans grappled Mongol riders, tearing horses and men apart; Cyclopes swung hammers forged from divine thunder, shattering phalanx formations and blasting ancient Chinese warriors into oblivion.

Yet the tide from Avenger’s legion seemed endless. Atomic fire bloomed again and again, only to be swallowed by Elayne’s divine barriers. Nukes detonated harmlessly within pockets of pure life-force; their radiation purified into harmless light.

For every colossus that fell, ten more warriors surged forward—Spartans climbing Gigantes like living mountains, Lu Bu himself leaping skyward to clash halberd against cyclops hammers in sparks that lit the corrupted sky.

“GYAHAAHHAAH! I SHALL CONQUER THIS LAND!”

Lu Bu laughed monstrously, piercing a Cyclops’s eye with his demonic halberd and blowing its head apart before charging straight toward Elayne’s group.

“SURRENDER YOUR LIFE TO ME!”

“Tsk!”

Assassin stepped forward. His katana thundered with immense power as it crashed against the ancient warlord. An explosion of crimson light and purple lightning erupted, shattering the ground beneath them and hurling dozens of spiritual beings and soldiers flying into the distance.

“I have heard of your legends, Lu Bu-sama. To think you would let that monster control you as if you were nothing but a puppet to his will.”

“Puppet?! Controlling me?! Hahah! HAHAHAHAHA! There’s nobody controlling us! We are the embodiment of mankind’s destruction and war itself!”

“Then I won’t have mercy.”

Assassin vanished in an explosion of purple lightning, reappearing behind Lu Bu and sheathing his blade in a single fluid second.

“Huh?!”

Lu Bu realized too late. He fell apart in pieces, diced at lightning speed. His eyes filled with disbelief, yet his mouth held one final, manic smile before exploding into ashes.

“Hahahaha… How fascinating…!”

“They may wield the power of Heroic Spirits, but they lack our endurance and possess no Spirit Cores. We can destroy them quickly!” Assassin declared. “Master, I’ll clear the way alongside Ruler!”

“But Assassin!” Harumi cried, worried for her heroic spirit.

“Please don’t worry. Escape with your friends and your beloved!” Assassin urged. “If I must die today, I shall gladly do so—perhaps this time not with grief and sorrow, but as an honorable warrior!”

“GOOD! I LIKE YOUR ATTITUDE, ASSASSIN! YOU ARE A TRUE WARRIOR! JOIN MY ARMY, WILL YOU!?”

Avenger laughed wildly. Hundreds of thousands of soldiers surged forth, Persians, Spartans, Chinese, World War II Germans, Americans, and countless more, armed with their weapons, technologies, and leaders.

Assassin stood at the forefront as Elayne’s magic conjured a bridge of floating divine wood above the destruction.

“Go!” he shouted.

“RAAAAHHHHHH!”

The army crashed against him, a man whose class never truly suited him, a man too soft and kind, a man who rarely dared fight sneakily.

He was the honorable Assassin, a victim of history, remembered more for his ethnicity than for who he truly was.

His Aura surged. Thunder coalesced into a giant demonic oni above his body, a powerful manifestation of his Legendary Treasure, a unique weapon imbued with the strength of his ancient legacy.

With a war cry, Assassin swung his katana in sweeping arcs, slashing through dozens, hundreds, thousands of soldiers at once. Blood and flames spread across the battlefield as warlords attacked him one by one.

“Face me! Samurai!”

Leonidas charged, crashing against Assassin with his giant shield before thrusting his spear at lightning speed. But Assassin was thunder itself, disappearing and unleashing dozens of slashing attacks in an instant.

SLASH! SLASH! SLASH! SLASH!

Leonidas laughed as his body grew bulkier, tougher, tanking every blow with the insane endurance he had once used against the invading Persians.

He thrust his spear forward. A blinding explosion of red light erupted, striking Assassin and shattering half his armor.

BOOOM!

“Nngh?!”

Assassin crashed to the ground and rolled, gasping for air. Elayne’s forces rushed to aid him. A Gigantes cradled him in giant hands while a Dryad healed his wounds.

But then—

“HAHAHAHAH!”

Leonidas, in a berserk rage, laughed viciously. He pierced the Gigantes’s head and blew it apart before charging the Dryad, smashing her with his shield and punching straight through her heart, killing her in front of Assassin.

“YOU!”

Fury ignited within him. Thunder roared as he surged toward Leonidas. Both collided in an immense explosion of fire and lightning.

“Enough is enough! How can you be so cruel?!”

“They are nothing but the enemy! And I shall defeat my enemy—for Spartaaaaaaa!”

Leonidas roared, crashing against Assassin with all his might. But the heroic spirit matched him, then slowly surpassed him.

“Sparta is long gone, friend. You were merely revived by a demon! Please, return from whence you came!”

Assassin ended it mercifully, swinging his katana dozens of times in a single second. He shattered Leonidas’s shield, breached his defenses, and diced him into hundreds of pieces.

“Haaa…”

Assassin sighed, steadying the energies coursing through his body. He looked into the distance—Elayne and the students were racing across the bridge she had built.

But then—

Planes roared overhead. Dozens of them dropped hundreds of bombs toward the fleeing group.

“…!”

As Assassin tried to help, a giant made of red flames erupted from nowhere and smashed him into the ground.

CRASH!

“Ugh! What now?!”

He glared up. His eyes widened as he realized this was no mere summon.

“A-Avenger?!”

“Heh…”

From within the giant, Avenger’s voice emerged, slowly twisting into pure fury. The flames scattered, leaving only the long fiery hair.

Reddish-white skin, fiery red-orange-golden eyes, a stoic yet monstrously muscular frame covered in red runes and blood.

Long, sharp fangs gave him the look of a demon from hell. A long golden-red spear materialized at his side.

“Just how many forms do you have, shapeshifter?” Assassin steadied his breathing, glaring at the flame giant. His katana gleamed brightly with gathering purple thunder. “Who are you truly?! What are you?!”

“I am War,” the giant rumbled. “I am the dictators who brought humanity to despair. I am the endless armies that tormented the innocent. I am the bloodshed and the dread, the pain and the suffering. I am… the Conquest.”

“…!!!”

In that instant, the flame giant mounted a skeleton horse born from the corpses of thousands of wailing dead spirits. The bones twisted and reformed into a living white steed of immense beauty.

This savage, muscular monstrosity raised his golden-red spear of flame as countless suffering spirits spread outward.

The embodiment of War… and Conquest—two of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

“I Am War.”

“I Am Conquest.”

“A-Ahh…!”

Assassin felt it in every bone, every spiritual circuit.

He stood no chance.

This overwhelming pressure, this monstrous force, this god-like abomination born from humanity’s darkest sins.

Two of the four horsemen destined to end everything.
