Brand New Life Online: Rise Of The Goddess Of Harvest

Elena’s eyes widened as she looked up. Every plant, animal, spirit, and spirit race was singing toward Her, celebrating Her return.

“Whisper of leaves, cry of stone,

Mother of roots, we call you home.

Blood of rivers, breath of skies,

Awaken, Mother, let life arise.

Golden flower, eternal flame,

We sing your love; we speak your name.

Through every spirit, beast, and tree,

Return, O Goddess, set us free!”

Elena’s lips trembled as the words escaped her mouth almost instinctively. She recognized the face of the giantess turning toward her and those singing her glorious return.

The colossal tree shifted. Its bark glowed faintly with golden veins of light. The giantess-shaped silhouette seemed to breathe. Her eyes opened slowly—two radiant orbs of emerald and gold—gazing down at Elena with infinite warmth.

In that moment, Elena felt completely paralyzed. Dozens of memories from her entire life flashed through her mind and soul.

Of Her.

“Elena…” a voice echoed—not from the tree alone, but from every leaf, every stream, every spirit around her. It was Her voice, yet magnified, layered with countless tones, as if the entire forest spoke in unison, as if they were all her.

Elena staggered back, clutching her bracelet.

Tears streamed from her eyes. She couldn’t believe what she was seeing.

Was this really a dream?

No, did that ever matter?

It was Her.

“M-Mom…?”

She swallowed hard, a knot tightening in her throat.

“Is that… you?”

The giantess-tree leaned forward, her immense form bending like a mother stooping to meet her child. A hand of vines and blossoms extended, shimmering with mana, life, and spiritual energies.

“You carry my memory, my love, and my bond with this land,” the voice whispered. “Through you, the Forest of Beginnings awakens once more. I am your mother, and the mother of all life. My dear, come to me.”

Elena’s eyes filled with tears. She reached out. Her trembling fingers brushed the glowing hand. The moment she touched it, the bracelet on her wrist blazed brighter. The red flower bloomed anew as if reborn.

The spirits around her cheered. Their songs rose into a crescendo. Fairies twirled in the air, elves bowed solemnly, and even the ancient Treants raised their arms in reverence to the goddess of all life and nature, of earth.

Elena felt her body lighten; her feet no longer touched the ground. Vines wrapped gently around her arms, flowers blossomed in her hair, and her toga shimmered with golden threads.

“You are not just my daughter,” the voice continued. “You are the bridge. Between the mortal and the divine. Between memory and rebirth. Between sorrow… and hope.”

Elena’s heart pounded. “Bridge…? What do you mean?”

The giantess smiled. Her face formed more clearly from bark and blossoms. “You will understand, child. But first… awaken the roots. Awaken what sleeps beneath.”

Suddenly the ground trembled. The forest floor cracked open, revealing glowing rivers of mana flowing like veins beneath the earth. The bracelet pulsed in rhythm with them. Elena felt her entire being resonate with the forest itself.

Her tears dried, replaced by awe. She whispered, “Mom… I don’t know what’s going on…! Is this a dream? Is this real?! Who… who are you? Wait, are you really her? But you look and sound like her— Wait, what’s going on— Uwaaah?!”

Elena gasped as the giantess’s hands lifted her toward her gigantic face. Elena felt paralyzed by awe and an overwhelming wave of love and warmth washing over her.

“I am Mother of Nature and Life, Goddess of Earth, and the Fragment of a Great Being Reborn. I am Ruler… Are you my master?”

Elena’s eyes twitched. Her hands trembled. She didn’t know what was happening, but whether this was a dream or not, it didn’t matter anymore. If this was what she had to do to finally bring her back, she would do it without hesitation.

“What? I… I guess?”

The giantess-tree’s eyes gleamed brighter. The entire forest roared in celebration.

And then Elena felt something stir deep within her chest. A second heartbeat. A power not her own, yet intimately familiar.

The bracelet fused with her hand. The power of nature clung to her body as she felt a powerful, eternal connection to a Divine Being beyond her own strength.

Someone—or something—that should have never been summoned into this Holy War.

“My name is Gaia Mater, Goddess of Nature, All Life, and the Earth. I am Ruler, and not a Heroic Spirit, but a Divine Spirit. Through this pact, I have become your Servant. Elena… let us win this Holy War and return Nature to its once glorious form.”

“Gaia… Mater?”

As Elena felt confused, the entire forest around her slowly disappeared. Reality scattered and collapsed into bright energies, gathering into a single form in front of her.

Her eyes widened. The resemblance was uncanny… no, it wasn’t just a lookalike. Elena was sure this was indeed her.

“A-Ah?”

A tall and motherly woman, voluptuous and divinely beautiful. With tanned skin and long green hair wrapped with vines, roots, and bright flowers, wearing a white toga dress decorated with golden threads, standing barefoot, and nearly three meters tall.

Her gleaming green and gold eyes looked directly at Elena with love. She spread her arms.

“Elena… it’s me. Come to mama! You don’t know… how long I have missed you!”

In between tears—each one turning into flowers and spirits as they fell into the soil—mother and daughter hugged one another.

“Mom! It’s you?! How?! Mom! I don’t care anymore…! Mom! Aaaahhh! Buaaahhh…!”

Elena cried loudly against her mother’s shoulders as she was hugged and lifted, held like a child once more. Her mother never let go, cradling her in infinite love and compassion.

“It wasn’t a dream?! What is this?!” Elena asked in disbelief. “I-I thought you died!” she cried, as her mother smiled, kissing her nose, forehead, and cheeks.

“I did die… All I remember is that I was dragged to the Netherworld and then… I fell into an endless sea of warm light,” her mother murmured. “And… I also remember being betrayed by my own creation and then… left alive, as a pair of bright silver eyes reversed everything back. I… Hmm, it’s a little confusing, isn’t it? I have not much of a clue myself.”

“E-Eh? Haha…” Elena chuckled adorably as she realized it was indeed her mother—because of how clumsy she was. “How can’t you know? And you expect me to know myself? Hahah… Eh?”

Elena noticed a red-colored spell rune appearing on her right hand, shaped like a flower surrounded by wooden branches with leaves. “W-What is this? A connection?”

“I received information when I returned,” her mother said. “I am now what’s called a Heroic Spirit of sorts. This is… a Holy War, where seven Magus summon seven Heroic Spirits who fight against one another.”

“What?!” her daughter exclaimed in shock.
