Brand New Life Online: Rise Of The Goddess Of Harvest

“What a deplorable creature you are. And you call yourselves superior to us? Indeed, she and her friends are different from your disgusting ilk.”

“HAH?!”

Franken roared in fury, suddenly noticing his fists were badly damaged. The steel-hard skin he prided himself on had torn open, exposing cracked bones beneath.

His regeneration kicked in, slowly knitting the wounds closed.

But the White Ghost man charged before the healing could finish. He swung a gleaming white spear forged from his own White Ghost Soul.

“It appears you have never fought a true member of our clan. Let’s correct that today!”

The spear thrust forward. Franken groaned in pain as hundreds of piercing strikes riddled his massive, bulky body, tearing holes through flesh and soul alike. A final powerful kick to the stomach sent him hurtling hundreds of meters, crushing his own zombies beneath him.

CRAAASH!

“W-Wha…?!” Franken’s eyes widened in shock. “Nnnggh…! Who is this guy?! He’s stronger than the rest?! But I thought the White Ghost Race…! Wasn’t I already fighting their strongest soldiers?!”

“You seem to be mistaken about something, and I wouldn’t blame you for it.”

“Hm?!”

Franken panicked as the White Ghost man appeared behind him, floating high above the battlefield. He resembled a translucent white knight, clad in armor forged from his own hardened soul.

“Although it is widely believed that the White Ghost Race is strong—and we are—there is a common misconception,” he said. “You seem to think our entire race is equally powerful. So when you fought our soldiers, you assumed that was the limit of our strength and that you had already surpassed us?”

“T-That’s…!”

Franken gasped as dozens of White Void Soul Weapons materialized around the man, startling the zombie and forcing him to retreat. His Nether Heart Core pounded furiously. His aura surged. All his Curse Runes activated at once, black tattoos spreading across his pale blue skin.

“But you are sorely mistaken! Even among our noble race, there are those who are nobler still!” the man declared. “I, Blank Velberth, shall now demonstrate the power of the noblest among the nobles!”

“What sort of bullshit are you spouting, you white-haired freak?!” Franken roared, sprouting six more pairs of gigantic, muscular arms. He attacked all of them at once, each burning with nether flames.

His fists collided against the dozens of White Void Weapons erupting from Blank’s soul. Explosions of nether flames, soul essence, and white void tore through the battlefield. Undead and White Ghost soldiers alike were hurled away by the ferocious shockwaves unleashed by these two absolute powerhouses.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

“I’M GOING TO CRUSH THAT DOLL FACE, AND THEN I’LL DEVOUR YOUR SOUL!”

“Hmph. Is garbage the only thing that comes out of that foul mouth of yours, you repulsive creature?”

Franken grinned savagely. He kicked off the ground and closed the distance in an instant. His mouth opened wide, revealing an eye embedded in his throat. It charged with power and fired a concentrated beam of red demonic energy capable of burning straight through soul essence.

“HEH! STILL THINK I’M JUST A DISGUSTING CREATURE NOW?!”

“…?!”

Blank couldn’t dodge in time. The beam struck his left shoulder, carving a painful, burning hole straight through. Flames exploded around him, but white light surged from his body, absorbing the fire and sealing the wound—though the sting lingered fiercely.

“A Demonic Eye of some kind?” Blank mused, remaining eerily calm despite the direct hit. “I see. Unlike them, you are a filthy zombie who stitches himself together with pieces of countless other beings. You must be full of surprises.”

“You took a direct hit and you’re acting like it’s nothing, you son of a bitch?” Franken snarled. “You’re good at pretending, but that was pure Demonic Energy! I did my research, you know? I prepared! I learned that the White Ghost Race’s greatest weakness is soul-devouring attacks! Demons naturally devour souls! Their Demonic Energy is your ultimate weakness!”

“Weakness? There is no such thing for the noblest of nobles,” Blank replied with unshakable pride. “Foul beast!”

He kicked Franken squarely in the chin, then drove dozens of White Void Weapons through his stomach and chest. The weapons detonated in a chain of explosions that shredded his innards and obliterated half his Nether Heart in seconds.

“Kuuuaaaggghh?!”

BOOOMMM!!!

The final massive blast hurled him away. He crashed into a nearby mountain and stared in disbelief at his mangled state. He couldn’t fathom how the White Ghost had turned the tables so effortlessly. He glanced around and saw Blank rushing toward him like a white blur.

“This damn bastard! Who does he think he is?!” Franken muttered. He triggered several hidden runes and magic circles etched deep within his soul, accelerating his regeneration. “Nnnggh— Ah!”

But Blank was faster. His hand slammed into Franken’s grotesque face, crushing him against the mountain. He dragged the zombie’s face across the rock, tearing chunks of flesh away. The skull cracked open, exposing brains that began to burn with searing white flames.

“NNGAAAAAHHHHH!”

“Feel fortunate that a noble among nobles deigns to fight you personally! FEEL HONORED!”

Blank roared with righteous fury. He hurled Franken toward another mountain, then shifted his stance. White Void Gauntlets materialized over his delicate hands. He began pummeling Franken mercilessly, driving his fists deep into flesh and soul alike. Holes appeared everywhere across the zombie’s body.

“GUUAAAAHHHHH!”

Franken screamed in unrelenting agony, unable to comprehend what was happening. He struggled to regain control, only for a spear to impale his head, an axe to sever it, and a massive hammer to flatten his body into the ground, again and again and again.

BAAAM!

“T-This is ridiculous!”

BAAAM!

“How is this happening?!”

BAAAM!

“W-Was I wrong?! Damn it! Those two bastards must be laughing at me!”

BAAAM!

“This won’t end here…! IT WON’T!!!”

RUMBLE!

Franken bellowed and rose from the crater Blank had driven him into. His aura exploded outward in a blazing pillar of demonic energy. A glowing pair of crimson horns sprouted from his head, radiating raw demonic power.

“So you were holding back.”

Blank watched calmly as Franken emerged, his body transforming. Red skin spread across him. Giant demonic wings unfurled. A long tail lashed behind him. Sharp black claws extended. He grew three times larger, towering over Blank.

“I didn’t want to use my Crimson Demon Horns yet, but you left me no choice, you damn bastard!” Franken roared.

“You turned a demon’s horns into your Soul Treasure, I see,” Blank said with a nod. “But why did it take you so long to unleash that power?”

“Because it takes forever to recharge once I use it, damn it!” Franken bellowed. His colossal blazing fists surged from every direction, rippling the air as a storm of demonic flames engulfed Blank completely.

The flames seared his skin and body relentlessly. Yet Blank remained utterly composed. White mist poured from him, scattering and absorbing the fire. He compacted the demonic energy, refining it into a long, dark red soul sword.
