School Beauty's Personal Crazy Young Master

Chapter 1072: Chapter 1158: Playing with Guns, Jing!

”Finally, we get to handle the guns!”

Everyone shouted excitedly, jumping out of bed and getting dressed.

Only Chen Nan remained calm; he wasn’t really interested in guns, having already played with them a lot as a kid.

After assembling, no one saw any guns.

Even the one Cheng Bingbing had earlier was put away, and after organizing the group, Cheng Bingbing scanned the crowd and said, ”Old rules, stand in military posture for thirty minutes first, then have breakfast.”

Everyone let out a long sigh.

They thought they would touch the guns right after waking up, but they still had to stand in military stance.

After breakfast, around 8:30 in the morning, everyone returned to camp for assembly.

This time, as expected, they actually got to handle the guns.

However, due to the limited number of guns, with thirty classes in total, they had to divide into two groups.

With half a month of military training almost over, only five days are left, so today, it’s students from classes one to fifteen who handle the guns, and tomorrow it’s classes sixteen to thirty. The first four days rotate like this to play with guns, and the fifth day is the crucial moment—the military drill competition.

The last day is for evaluating what was learned in the previous fourteen days and then ranking.

”These guns are on loan, so be careful not to damage them,” Cheng Bingbing said while issuing the guns.

Chen Nan naturally received a gun as well.

It was the standard Type 95 rifle, one of the most commonly used rifles in the military.

After getting hold of the guns, everyone started examining them, while Chen Nan skillfully removed the magazine and took a look: ”Instructor, why is it empty, where are the bullets?”

Cheng Bingbing said, ”What, having a gun isn’t enough, you want live ammunition too?”

”Of course!”

The whole class responded in unison.

If there’s a real gun but no real bullets, what’s the point, it’s no different from playing with the gun in your pocket...

Cheng Bingbing squatted down and said, ”First, I’ll teach you how to disassemble and maintain the guns. After you learn these things, then we’ll barely consider letting you do live firing.”

”Instructor, we’re not really soldiers, why learn maintenance, just let us fire a couple of shots.” Someone said.

Cheng Bingbing shook her head, ”If you don’t even understand the structure and characteristics of a gun, how could you use it well? Let alone achieve unity with the gun.”

The student was left speechless.

Cheng Bingbing swept her gaze over everyone and said, ”Having taken up the gun, you have to treat it as a part of your body, protect it, cherish it. For soldiers, the gun is your life, because on the battlefield, without a gun, it’s as if you have no life.”

After a brief pause, she continued, ”Of course, you are training by a soldier’s standards, but not in the real sense. However, can you be sure that you will never join the army in the future? If by any chance war breaks out, the knowledge you learn today could be of great use.”

After hearing Cheng Bingbing’s words, everyone fell silent.

Cheng Bingbing picked up a cloth and laid it on the ground, just about to teach everyone how to disassemble and assemble the guns, when her gaze landed on Chen Nan, and her eyes widened—

”Chen Nan! Why did you disassemble the gun!”

Cheng Bingbing roared at him.

”Didn’t you say to maintain the guns? I’m maintaining it right now!” He pointed at the gun parts on the cloth.

”But I haven’t even taught you...”

Cheng Bingbing stopped mid-sentence, realizing something was wrong, and exclaimed, ”You... how do you know how to disassemble it, have you learned gun maintenance before?”

”I know a little, I know a little.”

Chen Nan chuckled, and in Cheng Bingbing’s stunned gaze, began reassembling the scattered gun parts with incredible speed, faster even than Cheng Bingbing herself.

With a series of clicks, in about six seconds, he had the Type 95 rifle fully assembled.

Chen Nan raised the gun to aim and smiled at Cheng Bingbing, ”Instructor, now that I’ve learned gun maintenance, can I do live firing first?”

”You...”

Cheng Bingbing was dumbstruck by Chen Nan’s speed.

She pointed at Chen Nan, stunned for a moment before asking, ”What are you?”

”I’m just a student.” Chen Nan smiled.

Cheng Bingbing asked in disbelief, ”Then how are you so skilled at gun maintenance?”

”Well...”

Only then did Chen Nan realize he was showing off too much. He couldn’t possibly tell her he played with these things like toys growing up.

Reluctantly, he lied, ”My grandpa was a soldier, and since I liked playing with guns since I was little, he brought a scrapped Type 95 home and taught me forced maintenance and shooting essentials, intending for me to join the army after graduating from college.”

Cheng Bingbing suddenly understood, ”So that’s how it is. Since you’ve learned, how’s your shooting?”

The whole class looked at Chen Nan with curiosity.

Chen Nan nodded, ”Pretty good.”

”You see that first target at fifty meters, right? I’ll give you a bullet, can you hit a ten-ring shot?” Cheng Bingbing asked.

She was really curious to see how skilled someone who could disassemble a gun so quickly would be at shooting.

The whole class looked at Chen Nan expectantly. Aside from on TV, they’d never seen real live shooting before, so they were quite excited when they heard Cheng Bingbing say she’d give Chen Nan a bullet.

Chen Nan chuckled, ”Instructor, this gun’s effective range is four hundred meters, and you’re asking me to hit a fifty-meter target? Please don’t insult me like this.”

”Then how far can you hit?” Cheng Bingbing asked.

Chen Nan glanced at the gun in his hand and said, ”I haven’t touched this thing in years, but hitting a thousand meters shouldn’t be a problem.”

”What, a thousand meters!”

Cheng Bingbing immediately jumped up in excitement, ”You’re not joking!”

Chen Nan nodded calmly, ”Just a thousand meters, is it that surprising?”

”You also know, this gun only has an effective range of four hundred meters; anything beyond that, it’s hard to aim at six hundred meters, nearly impossible to hit at eight hundred meters. How can you possibly hit a thousand meters!” Cheng Bingbing exclaimed at Chen Nan.

She knew that at a thousand meters, the bullet would travel in a noticeably curved trajectory.

And the Type 95 isn’t a sniper rifle; how could it aim accurately?

Cheng Bingbing simply couldn’t believe anyone could hit a thousand-meter target with a Type 95 rifle.

After hearing Cheng Bingbing’s explanation of the Type 95 rifle’s range, the whole class was shocked, looking at Chen Nan, wondering if the top student was truly that good or just boasting.
