King of the Wilderness

Chapter 802: Chapter 362: Arrival at the First Stop—Nassau

After taking the photos, Lin Yu’an took out the professional blood-letting knife and processing tools from the toolbox.

”Alright, the celebration is over. Now, it’s time to pay the highest respect to our spoils of war.” He said to the camera, and to Mike, ”And that is to process it in the most professional way without wasting any part.”

He turned to Mike: ”Captain Mike, when it comes to handling ocean bounty, I am still a complete novice.”

”For land prey, from skinning to cutting, I might have some insights.”

”But facing such a big sea fish, it’s still my first time. So, I’ll need you to teach me the technique for processing fish.”

His words both gave Mike ample respect and demonstrated his humble and eager-to-learn attitude. The bit of gloom on Mike’s face from being part of the ”Air Force” was instantly swept away, replaced with the pride of a seasoned veteran.

”Haha, no problem!” He took the knife, feeling at home again, ”You’ve asked the right person! Fishing is just fun, but processing fish is real skill!”

”All you viewers, pay attention! Lesson one! The golden ten minutes! How to lock in the taste of the sea!”

Under Mike’s direction, a tense yet orderly ”post-battle processing” lesson commenced in front of the live broadcast camera.

Mike shouted an order, ”Quick! Riven, get some ice and fill the cooler at the stern with ice and seawater, we need to give it an ice bath!”

Riven immediately sprang into action while Mike demonstrated the first step to Lin Yu’an — blood-letting.

”Watch closely,” Mike half-knelt down, not stabbing blindly but using his fingers to precisely locate a soft depression behind the Spanish mackerel’s pectoral fin.

”Here, is where its aorta is most concentrated. Make sure the cut is quick, accurate, and ruthless!”

Gripping the knife, he plunged it in, then swiftly slashed. A gush of bright red blood spurted out like a fountain!

”Wow!” Exclamations filled the live stream.

This scene was visually impactful, brimming with a raw sense of life energy, instantly igniting the barrage of comments.

[Holy crap! Last time I saw this was when the auntie at Market was killing fish ten years ago in the morning!]

[Awesome! This is the content I want to see!]

[It’s so real! The host is amazing! This is real fish processing!]

However, just as the audience was in awe, the live stream’s picture suddenly froze for a moment, followed by a cold system warning pinned at the top of everyone’s screen.

[Super Moderator Warning: Your live broadcast content is suspected of blood and violence. Please immediately adjust your broadcast content, or it will be subject to sealing!]

This warning was like a bucket of cold water, instantly dousing the heated atmosphere.

”Oh, damn!” Riven was the first to notice the fan’s warning in English, and she said somewhat panicked, ”Lin! We’ve been warned by a super mod! They think this is too gory!”

Mike also frowned, clearly not understanding such ”fuss”: ”Gory? We’re processing food! Do they think steaks in the supermarket grow on trees?”

The live stream’s comments exploded:

[Super mod, are you okay? Have you seen fish being killed without blood?]

[Don’t block this! I just got to the exciting part! This is educational! This is hardcore outdoors!]

[Oh no, the host’s going to be blocked, just got a big fish and now have to go offline?]

Lin Yu’an’s expression remained unchanged; this kind of visually intense scene triggering the platform’s automatic review mechanism was completely normal.

He shifted the main camera away from the fish, ensuring the bloody scene was no longer the focus.

Only then did he calmly speak to the camera: ”Hello, dear fans, and the super mod monitoring this live stream.”

”First of all, I’m very sorry if the previous scenes caused discomfort to some viewers.”

”But please allow me to explain that what we’re doing now is not any form of animal abuse or violence, but necessary food preservation processing.”

He paused, his tone becoming more sincere: ”My live stream aims to show everyone a truly complete maritime life, including the process of how to handle nature’s bounty, which inevitably involves processing the catch.”

”I promise, the next steps will avoid overly direct gory shots, and I hope the platform and the fans can understand.”

[Well said! Support the host!]

[Did the super mod hear that? This is food processing! I want to see this!]

[It’s over, we’ll never see such hardcore scenes again.]

[I think it’s normal, after all, the platform rules are there, let’s respect the platform rules.]

Perhaps Lin Yu’an’s explanation had an effect, as the glaring warning quietly disappeared after remaining for a minute.

”Alright, don’t waste time anymore.” Mike urged, ”The golden ten minutes won’t wait for us!”

He flipped over the still-twitching fish, cutting the caudal artery precisely near the tail fin as well.

Then, he and Lin Yu’an worked together to hang the fish head-down, with the tail hooked over the railing of the ship, letting the blood drain completely under the force of gravity.

”Remember, the blood must be drained completely before the heartbeat stops! This is the key to determining if the fish meat is ’top-grade sashimi’ or ’cat food’!” Mike emphasized once more to the camera and Lin Yu’an.

After about three to four minutes, no more blood flowed out. Only then did Mike lay the fish back on the deck and begin the second step — removing the gills and guts.

With a specialized long-handled hook, he reached into the fish’s gills, twisting and pulling to remove the entire set of gills intact. ”The gills are the most bacteria-laden area and must be removed immediately.”
