King of the Wilderness

Chapter 801: Chapter 361: Live Sea Fishing Competition (Part 3)

Lin Yu’an lunged forward with one swift step, grabbing the fishing rod that had bent into an unbelievable C-shape!

Almost the instant he held the rod, a wild and swift force surged from the deep sea, attempting to drag him into the water!

He let out a low growl, his core strength exploding as his legs rooted firmly to the deck, while pressing the butt of the rod tightly against the groove of the fighting belt at his waist!

”Riven! Slow down! Reduce the speed to 3 knots! Turn starboard and keep the boat at a 45-degree angle with the fish!” Mike immediately issued support commands.

”Got it!” Riven rushed back to the helm, retracting part of the foresail while precisely turning the wheel.

At this moment, Lin Yu’an had fully entered combat state! He could clearly feel the beast under the water fleeing frantically at over 40 miles per hour.

The spool of the Accurate reel spun rapidly, its scorching heat almost vaporizing the seawater on it!

He didn’t resist the force head-on but maintained a bow step stance, utilizing the rod’s powerful elasticity and his body’s flexibility to continuously absorb the violent impact.

Like a Tai Chi master, he guided the force capable of snapping steel cables, consuming the opponent’s strength between each deflection and tension.

”It’s turning!” Lin Yu’an shouted loudly, sensing it.

Before the words had faded, the taut fishing line on the distant sea suddenly arced sharply to the left!

”Five degrees port! Follow it!” Mike shouted from the side, his eyes fixed tightly on the direction of the line like a seasoned battlefield commander.

Riven executed the orders precisely, and the Polaris moved like an elegant matador, maintaining a lethal distance from the unseen ”bull.”

”It stopped! It’s shaking its head!” Lin Yu’an felt intense vibrations as if from a power drill, ”Now’s the time!”

Seizing the moment when the beast’s sprint ended with a brief gasp, Lin Yu’an furiously turned the reel’s handle!

The high-speed ratio of 6:1 on the Accurate reel was fully displayed at this moment, allowing each turn to retrieve over a meter of fishing line back into the spool!

The silver line shimmered in the morning light, like a lifeline being reeled back.

But the beast beneath the water was not willing to surrender easily; after being pulled closer by dozens of meters, it launched a second round of frenzied charge!

The tug-of-war began!

Sweat beaded on Lin Yu’an’s forehead, but his gaze remained sharp as a knife, his breathing steady and rhythmic.

Riven watched from the side; it was the first time she saw another side of Lin Yu’an, a focus brimming with power.

Not the elegant man discussing life late at night, but a top-tier hunter locked in a life-and-death duel with a giant creature of the deep sea!

The intense masculine aura he exuded made her heart race involuntarily.

[So handsome! Those muscle lines! That’s a real man!]

[Riven coach’s eyes...why do I feel something’s off? (dog head)]

[Say no more, just look at that waist strength! His wife must be satisfied.]

[Soiderr: Husband! Husband! You got me!]

[???]

[What the heck? Just breezing past like that?]

[No...the guy upstairs, when you mentioned waist strength, were you implying his wife?]

[Call me Lei Feng: Clicked on the barrage for verification, indeed a pure fat zero.]

After an intense and prolonged battle lasting over ten minutes, the giant’s strength finally began to wane.

”I see it!” Mike excitedly shouted, pointing to the sea surface not far from the side of the boat, ”Prepare the gaff!”

Under the clear seawater, a large streamlined figure was making its final struggles.

Its body was covered with dark blue tiger-like stripes, reflecting a metallic sheen under the sunlight, like a deep-sea torpedo ready to launch again at any moment.

With all his remaining strength, Lin Yu’an roared and forcibly dragged the huge fish out of the water!

Now’s the time!

Mike timed it perfectly, and the giant gaff in his hand struck like lightning, accurately hooking the lower jaw of that marlin before using a standard lifting motion to drag it onto the swim platform at the stern!

”Thud!”

With a heavy thud, the fish, over one and a half meters in length and definitely weighing more than 50 pounds, flailed and thrashed violently on the teak deck, its power strong enough to break bones.

”We did it!” Riven jumped up excitedly, rushing forward to give the sweat-soaked Lin Yu’an a big hug, ”You won! Lin! You won!”

Mike immediately dashed back to the cabin, retrieving a large professional electronic handheld scale. Hooking the scale securely through the fish’s lower jaw, he and Lin Yu’an together lifted the still struggling giant fish off the deck.

The red digits on the scale jumped crazily, finally stabilizing at an astonishing number!

”Sixty-eight point five pounds!” Mike announced the figure loudly, his voice full of disbelief.

”My God! You caught a beast close to 70 pounds! Most anglers would never encounter such a large marlin in their lifetime!”

Riven was flushed with excitement, casting a glance at Lin Yu’an, her eyes filled with admiration: ”Lin, you broke the marlin record on our ’Polaris’! The largest one my dad caught was only 42 pounds!”

[We won! We won! God Lin is awesome! I told you, money power yyds!]

[My heavens! This fish is too beautiful! Its markings are like a tiger’s, gleaming with metallic luster under the sunlight!]

[That size! I told you it was over 50 pounds! It’s about the size of the 40-pound bighead carp I’ve caught!]

[68.5 pounds? How much is that converted? Let me calculate... My God! Over 30 kilograms!]

[Damn! Why didn’t the line snap!]

[Exactly, such a giant isn’t supposed to snap the line and escape! That’s not how the script is supposed to go, man!]

Lin Yu’an was panting heavily, his arms still aching from the fight.

But looking at the near-70-pound marlin full of life on the deck, his heart was filled with unparalleled satisfaction.

This was the ocean he longed for, full of challenges and the most direct rewards!

”Don’t just stare, quick!” Lin Yu’an quickly regained his composure and turned to Riven, ”Go get the camera! The colors on the marlin fade fast, we need to capture it at its most beautiful!”

”Got it!” Riven rushed back to the cabin, fetching a professional DSLR camera.

Lin Yu’an half-kneeled on the deck, carefully controlling the still-struggling fish while focusing the lens on it.

”Ladies and gentlemen, let’s have a closer look.” He adjusted the fish’s angle, allowing the morning light to perfectly illuminate its body.

”This is a marlin. See these dark blue tiger-like stripes on its body? While it’s alive, these stripes will flash with a neon-like metallic sheen when excited, very beautiful.”

”Once it’s dead, these colors will quickly fade to a dull gray within minutes.”

[So beautiful! It’s simply a natural work of art!]

[Host, pose with it! This is without a doubt a milestone in your fishing career!]

[If you say it’s like a neon light, that triggers my reversed scale! I’m opening the browser now.]

[Da Hua Tian Hei Lian: Husband! Got me!]

[Host, what you need now isn’t a photo op, but a room admin. I, An Gong, if you don’t mind, would like to take An Gong as my adoptive father!]

Lin Yu’an happened to see this line of comments, and casually added a room admin.

[???]

[If that’s the case, adoptive father! Adoptive father! Godfather! I want one too!]

[Night Owl Knight: Ten years of iron fan, no one asks; one day as an adoptive father, all the internet knows.]

[Alright, Night Owl Knight, I’ll call you the internet’s first to recognize an online parent.]

Lin Yu’an didn’t continue watching the comments; with Mike’s help, Lin Yu’an and Riven took turns holding the heavy fish, and during the photo, Riven’s body instinctively leaned closer to Lin Yu’an—capturing a few satisfying, achievement-filled photos.

In the photos, Riven’s smile was brighter than the Caribbean sun.
