Chapter 2736: Chapter 2736: Remember His Grandfather’s Warning

”Yeah. We can’t leave him there any longer.” Yu Qi nodded without a single shred of hesitation, her expression turning colder and more lethal with every passing second. ”We can’t leave him there any longer. We don’t know what kind of twisted game Angelica Lee is planning, and I don’t want Brother Qin Hao spending another single minute in her treacherous hands.”

Long Hui understood her concern perfectly. Angelica Lee was absolutely not the type of woman who did things randomly or without a specific, malicious purpose. If she had gone through all the immense trouble of kidnapping Tang Qin Hao in broad daylight, then she undoubtedly had something big planned for him.

”Then let’s go.” Long Hui nodded decisively.

Without wasting another second, the two of them immediately left the Spirit Room and began preparing their gear to rescue Tang Qin Hao.

...

Meanwhile...

Tang Qin Hao finally regained consciousness. The very first thing he felt was a dull, throbbing ache in the back of his head and a lingering, heavy numbness throughout his entire body from the residual effects of the sedative. He slowly opened his eyes. For a few agonising moments, his vision remained completely blurry. After blinking several times to clear the fog, his sight gradually returned to normal.

His expression immediately darkened. His hands and legs had been heavily restrained with thick metal chains. The chains were secured tightly enough to prevent any easy movement, but not so tightly that they cut off his circulation or caused immediate physical injury.

Tang Qin Hao instinctively tested the restraints, shifting his limbs slightly. The heavy chains rattled loudly against the floor. Although he still had some minor freedom of movement, escaping while wearing them would be an extremely difficult task. Even if he somehow managed to slip out of the room itself, running away with heavy chains securely attached to both his wrists and ankles would be nearly impossible.

Fortunately, aside from the restrictive restraints and the lingering effects of the potent sedative, he felt perfectly fine. His body showed no outward signs of physical injury. There was no intense pain, no severe dizziness, and no indication that anyone had physically harmed him after bringing him to this location.

Tang Qin Hao calmly forced himself to remain composed, drawing on his professional discipline, and began thoroughly observing his surroundings. The room itself appeared quite ordinary at first glance. There was a simple bed, a table, a chair, and several basic furnishings scattered around.

However, there was one glaring detail that immediately stood out to his sharp eyes. There were no windows. Not a single one. The air inside the enclosed room felt slightly stale, and the illumination appeared entirely artificial.

Tang Qin Hao narrowed his eyes in deep thought. He strongly suspected that the room was located deep underground. Most likely, it was a basement. More specifically, it appeared to be a specially prepared, soundproofed confinement room explicitly designed to hold high-value prisoners. The conclusion was entirely obvious. He had been kidnapped.

The problem was that he had absolutely no idea who would go to such extreme lengths to abduct him. Tang Qin Hao frowned deeply, his mind running through the variables. As far as he could remember, he had arrived on Continent M only two days ago. He had spent the vast majority of his time either attending the official conference events or remaining safely inside the luxury hotel. He could not recall offending a single person during his short stay here. Nor could he think of anyone on this continent who would possess a personal grudge against him strong enough to justify a federal kidnapping.

Then suddenly, Tang Qin Hao’s eyes narrowed slightly as a specific memory surfaced vividly in his mind. He remembered a conversation. More specifically, he remembered something his grandfather had said to him right before he left for Continent M.

The day before his departure, Tang Qin Hao had returned home to pack his luggage and make his final preparations for the international conference. While he was at the house, Grandpa Tang had specifically called him into his private study. The two of them had spoken for quite some time. Most of the conversation had revolved around the advanced medical research project Tang Qin Hao would be presenting to the world at the conference. Grandpa Tang had listened intently while Tang Qin Hao explained the intricate details of his research and the massive significance of the final results. Everything had seemed perfectly normal and routine at the time.

However, toward the very end of their discussion, Grandpa Tang’s expression had suddenly become unusually serious. He had looked at Tang Qin Hao for a long, heavy moment before warning him to be extra careful during his trip to Continent M. Tang Qin Hao could still vividly remember the deep, worried look in the old man’s eyes. It was a strange mixture of intense concern, caution, and something else entirely that he had been completely unable to identify at the time.

Back then, Tang Qin Hao had not thought much about the vague warning. After all, it was certainly not his first time travelling overseas alone for an academic conference. Over the years, he had attended countless international seminars, symposiums, and medical conferences without ever encountering any serious security problems. That was precisely why he had found Grandpa Tang’s intense concern somewhat excessive at the moment. At the time, he simply assumed the old man was just worrying too much about his grandson.

Now, however, as he sat heavily chained inside an unfamiliar, windowless underground room after being abducted in broad daylight, Tang Qin Hao finally realised that Grandpa Tang’s dire warning might not have been baseless after all.
